The post shoot thoughts and discussion was a great part of your excellent video. If you haven't ever attended an Appleseed event, I cannot recommend them enough. I think they are called Mapleseed in Canada. Best thing you can to to improve your accuracy with an old bolt gun is to get good with that sling, in my opinion. Thank you for putting this one up. It is hard, but so rewarding.

Yeah, not using the sling was a big mistake and also getting used to the weight of these heavy rifles. We’ll see how it turns out next year!

I haven't shot the Challenge yet and I am somewhat anxious about my lack of practice. I think I'll stretch for a while before my first attempt. Your bolt manipulations are excellent. Thank you for entering the competition GG!

Thanks! I haven’t had a good supply of .30-06 for almost 3 years so it’s been awhile since I’ve shot this rifle. What a great challenge you’ve organized and I look forward to working to improve my marksmanship for next year.

Firing unsupported is a somewhat lost art in modern times. Practical shooting relies on use of rests in the environment, and competition circuits rely heavily on special technique and kit. CFC does away with that, and your piints highlight exactly what makes us love it so much. Thanks for your entry and well done!

They’re honestly the smoothest bolt action rifles I’ve ever handled. I highly recommend getting one!

Yeah, I didn’t do much warming up with either rifles prior to the challenge so now I have my to-do’s for the next 12 months.

I second that. CFC is a lot tougher than it looks. Skills and drills rather than game and fame! Practice, practice, practice.
