Guys I can’t even believe I forgot humidity… since I forgot I’ll put it here! So they don’t need high humidity at all. Most home humidity’s are actually perfect. I think the best humidity is between 30-40%. Thanks for watching!

Everyone on KZbin talks about impaction, I have worked around reptiles for three decades, between myself and my colleagues we have worked with and successfully bred reptiles for 50yrs plus. Not one of us have ever experienced impaction with leopard geckos when using sand. Where do you newbies get this from is what I would like to know?
@tmreptile5 ай бұрын
I said I don’t use sand to avoid impaction. And that some people use it and it’s fine. I just want to avoid any risk of impaction. That’s my opinion. And thanks for calling me a newbie lol

Pinky mice is a NATURAL food source! They're opportunistic predators in the wild and will eat small rodents if the opportunity presents itself. Feeding them a picky is not bad at all. I feed mine one pinky every month.

I have heard they’re okay occasionally since making this. I haven’t fed mine any yet though

I actually heard a expert can't recall his name atm but he's written multiple reptile books and even focuses on leopard gecko research some. He states that the pinky mice can be beneficial like once a year for a big boost in D3 and protein but just one very small one a year the reason it was a negative was people fed those on a regular and would lead to fatty liver disease. In the wild they would absolutely eat a pinky mouse if they happen upon one. I would obviously say that is only for adults also.

I honestly feed mine mostly dubia roaches. But it kinda depends on the size of the gecko honestly so it’s hard to say

I got a question I got a leopard gecko almost two months old. When they are about to start shedding are they more mean and not want to be touched
@tmreptile Жыл бұрын
Some of my geckos are like that. Others ones not so much. But shedding can be uncomfortable for them so if they are a little defensive don’t think they’re mean or anything. They may just be uncomfortable

Is reptile carpet safe for leopard geckos?
@tmreptile Жыл бұрын
I believe it’s fine. Sanitation is very important for reptiles and reptile carpet tends to harbor bad bacteria over time. I don’t recommend it for that reason personally

Can I give a baby leopard gecko a 40 gallon tank?
@tmreptile Жыл бұрын
Technically you can but I usually recommend against it. If you do choose to put one in a tank that big right away, I would make sure there’s a ton of hides/hiding spots and that you monitor them and make sure they’re eating

Oh no! You said 40 gal for an adult is "Perfect". It might be sufficient, however not "Perfect". Perhaps if you have a small female. Though if you have that same small female who loves to roam, just do yourself a favor, and your baby assassin. Give them a 120gal. 4x2x2. They will use every bit of it, and the "One time" investment for the possibility of 20 years of life is worth it. Please don't get upset, you or anyone else. This is just pure logic. Absolutely pure and simple. You get a dog that lives let's say 12-15 years. Your bills, on food, and vet are totally waaaaay over that one time cost of the 4x2x2 and setting it up. By over 3x that. It's still a much cheaper pet, and in my opinion more enjoyable. For many reasons.

Again windows don't allow UVB/UVA through. Nor does the glass tank sides. My friend. Not true stuff here. I'm again not bashing. I'm trying to help here. Not sure how to get together and discuss these things with you to provide the correct information, but there were some wrong things here.
@tmreptile Жыл бұрын
A 40 gallon is perfect. A 120 gallon is overkill. Yes, they might use it, but it’s definitely overkill. A lot of people recommend using 20 gallons. I think that’s too small so I recommend 40. If you buy a trio of guppies, a 20 gallon would be perfect for them. You COULD put them in a 75 gallon. Again though, that would be overkill. The 20 gallon for them would be more than enough space than they need. Try googling the size tank a leopard gecko needs. Google says 20. I say 40. Another thing. I never said windows allow for uvb/uva. I said natural light/ windows allow for a leopard gecko to get a day/night cycle. Nothing about uvb/uva. A lot of your message was opinion. I stated mine in my video. I went above and beyond on a lot of info. You have famous reptile individuals recommending 20 gallons for adults. I have people come to my channel for fun and sometimes info. What you said is opinion. I’d appreciate you sticking to the facts next time. Please watch the whole video before you comment❤️✌🏻

Why don’t babies get a humid hide?
@tmreptile Жыл бұрын
Babies do need humid hides! I should’ve been more specific. The adults get the loose substrate lay box/humid hide. The babies should be getting a damp paper towel instead. Sorry for the confusion!
