I have a 2020, I set the climate concierge about 3 years ago and the car maintains the temp and adjusts as needed. I think the takumi craftsmanship justifies the price. Many think the LC500 is a bargain. Granted it doesn't compete directly with the C8, 911, and F-Type. I definitely enjoyed the review! Keep up the great work.

the LC 500 Convertible is one of my modern dream vehicles same goes for the Porsche 911 Carrera Targa top when it comes to classic/antique vehicles a 1973 Chevrolet Caprice Convertible a 1980 Bustle Back Cadillac Seville with an LT1 swapped engine from the Corvette of the same era though both had slower acceleration and horsepower though the LT 1 5.7 L V8 in the Corvette had 50 more horsepower than the Seville when equipped with the 5.7 L Oldsmobile small block v8 not the diesel engine or a 1970 Oldsmobile 442 W 30 equipped car granted the fully loaded 442 is almost 4,000 LBs while the Seville is just over 4,000 LBs at that time and went on to be Cadillac's 2nd best selling nameplate ever behind the Deville at 5.3 million units sold over its 46 years in production Seville sold around 1,000,000 units in 28 years of production where as for example the Best selling Toyota Model in the US is the Camry selling about 14,000,000 units in 40+ years of production thus far first released in the US for the 1983 Model year granted It either comes with a 2.5 L 4 Cylinder engine making 208 Horsepower or a 3.5 L V6 engine making 301 horsepower

It's not really trying to compete with the 911 as it is more of a GT car. Think more Bentley GT or Aston Martin.

The suspension design is unreal and 4,000 people were involved in the development and years to tune the exhaust . I love mine in black 2022 and took a year to get 😂

Hmm, the suspension makes the car jump at any little bump. In corners this effect causes swerving which is safety threatning.

C8 cost less but transmission issues make the car expensive to own. Lc is expensive to own but cheap to maintain. Ill choose expensive reliability over cheap beautiful looking junk

I live in Derbyshire UK, my 2018 LC handles the appalling road surface just fine, when I toured Scotland it made some jarring bangs on really bad potholes at speed, but there’s no damage.

it's already worth 100k new. This would get slaughtered before even trying to get to the gtrs level cause it'd end up being 100-150k more in the process of all of that and end up in the same position the lfa was in when it came out and the gtr was on the market for a bargain at the time.

The comparison between this and the Corvette is totally out of place. There are miles of difference in terms of quality, reliability, and status. The Corvette is a totally different animal for a totally different audience. So you really get what you pay for.

So I am looking to purchase a GT type of a sports car that I can drive everyday. Going to buy in the next 4 weeks. Narrowed it down to 2 cars that you have driven and wanted to get your opinion. Should I go with the Lexus LC500 or the Jaguar F-Type R? I'm a previous owner of both brands and I love both cars so I am torn on which one to get. I love the clean lines and looks of the Jaguar F-Type and it looks so aggressive from the back with the quad staggered exhausts. I think it feels more like a sports car when driving as well. With the Lexus I love how the gauge in the dash moves and it looks very luxurious on the inside and has big beefy wheels. I just don't like how they hide the exhausts. The infotainment is now fixed with a touch screen for 2024 models. But the sound of the exhaust note on the Jag is amazing. What is your opinion?

I have both brands currently xjl supercharged and an old Sc 400 ironically I just bought an Lc . I will say this Lexus sounds amazing and is likely better looking however and older Ftype not new and the supercharged is an animal and sounds ridiculous from exhaust and pops .. the newer ftype is too smooth and soft . Lex looks better . But the older 207supercharged and all I’df u must need the speed is another level . I have both so u can’t go wrong with. I’ll tell u that

@@abovenbeyondlimits81 thanks for your response. So I actually ended up purchasing a brand new F-Type back in July. Absolutely loving it. They make a mod for the car where you plug this device into the ODB port and it gives you the pops and crackles that the older generation F-Types have. I can also switch out the exhausts with a brand called Quicksilver that sounds better than the stock.

If you review a car and don't bother to read THE OWNER'S MANUAL, you can't possibly give an honest review to your audience. Your comment on the infotainment system is not accurate. The LC500 features VOICE COMMAND and that is covered in THE OWNER'S MANUAL. The trackpad is primarily there so the driver can access MENU and then SETUP his or her preferences. Once that is done, most day-to-day situations can be handled by pressing a button on the steering wheel and then TALKING TO THE CAR. You commented on THE SEATS! First off, there is CLIMATE CONCIERGE which once set up will automatically adjust the car's climate to your liking. As for the SEATS, all you had to do was press one button on the left side of the steering wheel and then say, "Show the front seat heater screen". That brings you directly to the screen where all you have to do is slide your fingers UP or DOWN on the TRACKPAD. What is really great is you only have to take your eyes off the road for a split second. However, with the TOUCH SCREEN, the brand-new system, (also features VOICE COMMAND) people are going to take their eyes off the road for several seconds while traveling at 120 feet per second or more in some cases. The goal is driving is ...DON'T GET DEAD. Most, if not all states, have passed laws against TEXTING on your SMART PHONE while driving. Again, doing that means you're not looking at the road. There are about 20 VOICE COMMANDS you can learn which will be handy 95% of the time. Wouldn't it be the better thing to do to learn all about this feature? We live in a very complex world where things aren't always intuitive. The LC 500 is a complex, high-tech machine. To enjoy this car as Lexus intended, why not read all about it? Learn what it can do. It's worth the time it takes to be safe and not become a statistic. We'd all like to see more of your reviews and I think your audience would grow if your reviews mentioned aspects of the cars the other reviewers fail to mention. Take care.

i found the touchpad annoying as well so i use the voice command pretty much covers all my needs. The backseats are kinda useless but sometimes I can bring my kids and wife to short distance destination with LC instead of mini van

Wheels with positive offset are closer to the inside of a vehicle (tucked fitment), while wheels with negative offset stick out from underneath the fender more (poke fitment). If you re-watch the video, pause at the part where Ben talks about the offset, and look at how the wheels are positioned on the LC500. Think of the wheel well as a pocket, with the fender delineating the border between the inside and outside of the vehicle, and notice on the LC500, the wheels are tucked inside the pocket. If the lip of the wheel lines up evenly with the edge of the fender, then that is called flush fitment because if you were to take something that is flat and place it along the wheel and fender, the entire object would be perfectly straight between the top edge of the wheel and the bottom edge of the fender. Once the lip of the wheel sticks outside of the fender line, then the wheel is poking. The amount of tuck or poke depends on the offset number. The more positive the number, the more tucked. The more negative the number, the more poke. When you look at wheel descriptions, the offset uses a number followed by the abbreviation "ET". So a wheel with 35 ET will be tucked inside the fender, while a wheel with -35 ET will be poked outside the fender. I hope this helps.
