I own a 2016 G550 Gwagon and just to let the public know, both pinion seals leaked fluids at 20,000 miles and being that the warranty expired, I had to pay $2200.00 for the repair. Buyer beware, as they are no longer the long life a buyer expects.

Love the looks of the G, but it’s wayyyy too expensive. Closest competitor is probably the Range rover and that starts $35k less than this. Escalade, Navigator, LX600, and R1S are roughly $45k less.

550 is the way to go. The view out is just amazing. They should make a hybrid V-6 version because the gas mileage is horrendous.

I have a bicycle. I can also off road, cross railroad bridges and go down really narrow streets. Parking is easy and my upkeep costs including fuel are minimal over regular.

Yeah, park this next to a Chevy crew cab or a Suburban. Neither will have the off-road capability, perhaps, but no one that buys this will be doing that, anyway. The G-Wagons are quite small. I was driving my 1990 535i e34 the other day (it was a dry, sunny day so I left my truck at home) and sat next to a G-Wagon. It's length wasn't much more than my old BMW.

Most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. Got almost 150,000 miles on mine. It was ugly to me when I first saw it. Then I read about it and started researching and just fell in love. I love off-road vehicles and I've owned many. My G is by far my favorite. It does ride a little rough. It's a tank. Military vehicle. It can't be compared to a Range Rover. A Range Rover is very comfortable and very unreliable.
