Hi Mark. Spot on review of a bike again. If us bikers could look beyond the BRAND NAME, this little thing or not so little thing is a right gem. It looks good , sounds great, and for the money well its got to be good. People will allways say the reliability of these isn't proven but look at KTM's. Brand new bikes getting towards 20 grand having issues that should never be. This bike is more than capable of pleasing many a biker. THANKYOU.👍👍👍

There's very little choice here in the UK for a (relatively cheap) lightweight ADV bike with "proper" wheels and ground clearance. As Kawasaki have seen fit not to import the KLX300 then it's basically this or the Honda CRF which is considerably more expensive. For that matter, there's a pretty good argument to say the Voge is better. Certainly as far as the suspension is concerned. I test rode one this morning (from the same dealer as it happens) and was so impressed I bought one. Having watched Marks review I'd pretty much agree with everything he says though I did give it a bit more of a hard time in the dirt (mud actually) and it behaved admirably, better than I'd expected.For more dirt riding a change of tyres might be optimal but pushed too hard I'd expect the suspension would show its limitations so maybe consider a proper enduro bike if that's your aim. As standard though, I'd say it's a well matched package and more than capable for a bit of greenlaning. (I definitely intend to find out just how capable in due course). One other thing that Mark mentioned to me and, having ridden the bike, I'd tend to agree. It might benefit from an extra tooth on the front sprocket which may make it a little less "buzzy" on the road. Of course that's swings and roundabouts with it use off road. As (apparently) the engine is based on the KLX300 then I'd expect finding alternative sprockets should be fairly easy and cheap. I'd also guess there's a little more power to be had with a few "mods" to the exhaust. I may yet find out. Anyway. Great review as usual Mark and hope you have fun on the bike you're reviewing tomorrow. ;-)

I bought one of these bikes from Bolton bikes 2 weeks ago l find it great to ride very comfortable makes me smile when riding it's great value at £3,799 with 12 months road tax included in the price and £100 fully comp insurance... The bike looks great very solid and stylish in black the gears are very smooth and pulls away easily in 2nd gear with no probs... On the left side to the speedo there is a USB socket to plug your phone or a sat nav into very handy... All in All l can't fault the bike I'd also say this looks far better than the CRF 300 rally with the lovely tail tidy as standard the engine protectors with the hand protectors and looks more solid and stylish than the honda crf range, l was also informed that the new honda bikes aren't made by honda.... The price l paid is also 2 grand cheaper than the crfs ... Loads for your money... Stuart G from Blackpool..... 😊

If I didn't already have a ktm390 adventure I'd seriously consider this. Other than a bash plate it's ready to go anywhere really, with the crash bars , nice high and tucked in silencer , and the rear rack. Looks nice and substantial. One small suggestion for you Mark, feel free to dismiss it. You mentioned, 'the brakes are starting to bed in nicely' . If you are testing a brand new (i.e. not run in bike) maybe mention that, as we well know, bikes settle in and engines free up a tad after some miles have been put on them. Just so folk know you are using brand new pads/tyres etc and not giving it huge handfuls :)

I bought the KTM when it first came out and was completely underwhelmed with its off road capabilities. Wheel size and riding position are not ideal. Having said that. It certainly isn't short of power. Definitely more road biased IMHO.

I meant to say... When testing an adventure/dirt/scrambler bike from Poole Moto... Go right (Blandford direction) then first left down Sandy Lane, follow that all the way till it turns into Watery Lane (there's a clue in there somewhere) keep following that as it bends round to the left and past the blue sign " unsuitable for motor vehicles" (another clue) then follow that down and round till you get to the T Junction at Slough Lane which brings you back on to Sandy lane. Few puddles and stretches of mud but nothing too serious. Perfectly legal too. Feel free to delete.

If the build is as good as the ds then its going to be a good bike. Better valve than the himilayan and 158 kg compared to 200kg of the enfield and better power to weight ratio and certainly looks better. I think these could sell well. Nathan millward is borrowing one for a while after the abr will be interested in what he thinks compared to his crf.

Looks good. Lots of bike for little money. The engine is from the Kawasaki 300 that Loncin build for the 300 series Kawasaki models. Must be worth a punt for the price of a big four 125 cc bike. Plus it has hand guards, rack & engine defenders. Even my Mrs would let me add one of these to my collection... Just need some lowering links and bring the front forks down by an equal amount. Want to test one and maybe purchase one of these....

& overpriced for what they are with no accesories as standard. The engines are good but so are chinese engines these days but Honda chooses to fit poor suspension, cheap corroding fasteners & engine paint as per my ex cb500x & current forza 350 scoot. Hi Mark another Mark here..I like your honest reviews..Now the direct comparison we would want to see is the Honda 300 rally...you took the Honda 300l on dual carriage way and it did 70 mph at 7000 rpm this bike only did 60 mph at 7000 rpm ... so it would need a sprocket change to allow it to do 70 like the Honda on the dual carriageway....and make it more applicable for cross country adventure biking I believe this would give it a leg up on the Honda and it comes with a better suspension and is cheaper....thoughts..

Thanks Mark. They really have upped the bar on Yamaha's XT250 based upon price and number of included accessories. But the seat height will relegate them to taller riders and the spoked wheels a real nuisance for changing tubes out on the back roads. The gas tank is also too small meaning an emergency gas bladder will be required for longer off road adventures. The top speed performance should have been upped allowing 80 mph on highway. Unfortunately, way too many negatives for me. I'm still waiting for Yamaha to update their XT250 to a better version. Gord
@LiviuXSA
@LiviuXSA Жыл бұрын
i dont think you can make a 300cc go 80mph consistently, you're gonna rev the hell out of that little single cylinder, i wish it could though! and even if it did, most bikes like these have a sweet spot of 60-65ish, if you go 75mph constantly you're super high in the rev range and it vibrates and rattles like crazy. sadly i have resigned myself that if i want an adventure bike thats good on the highway, an engine thats at least 500cc dual cyl is a must

@@LiviuXSA In this category, you are correct. But if geared properly at top end fifth gear, 300cc will get you up to 95mph. The Yamaha X-Max 300 is proof of that. But it is a CVT - continuous variable transmission... And they have that single cylinder balanced with very little vibrational hum at top end. Not a problem at all... Mark has reviewed those as well... Gord
@gorrdd
@gorrdd Жыл бұрын
@@richardjones3112 Yes... Yamaha have overpriced their XT250 and failed to update this model because they have no competition in the 510mm/31.5" seat height range in the dual sport category. The only reason you need more seat height and suspension travel is if you are going to jump these machines at speed on motocross tracks. And that market is very limited to a handful of youth with the balls and stupidity to risk breaking their necks just for an adrenaline rush. There are far more people with more money that would be interested in a lower seat dual sport application with moderate ground clearance for most off-road trails. The manufactures have not woken up to this fact. The proof is that Yamaha almost cancelled manufacturing of their XT250 back in 2020. But somehow woke up before going through with that. They had a captured market. You never shoot a model in a captured market. At the same time they put no more money into developing this model. If your going to keep a model and expand it's market, you can't sit on it. And right now... the market as a whole, is gravitating to less expensive lower powered models for easier cruising. This is why Royal Enfield have been so successful recently. People want a bike that is more relaxing and less stressful. They deal with so much stress these days they just don't want to go out and be stressed on their bike. The major marketing departments of the top manufactures seem loath to recognize this, until the market passes them by. They still think they are the market... until they aren't anymore. 🤯🙈 Gord

Hi Mark. Thank you for this. I always enjoy your first impressions test rides. Especially your seated on the bike shots, I’ve got the same inside leg. The problem with these Chinese bikes, and this is no way a dig at you, is the quality just isn’t there. Own this bike for a year plus and you will soon find out. One winter will have this bike looking like it’s been pulled out of a lake, first ride in the wet will have you replacing the cheap tyres for something that won’t kill you. I’ll bet money the owners hand book is written in pigeon English. If you have to convince yourself the bike was worth it because it was cheap you would’ve been better off buying a second hand Japanese bike. You get what you pay for and these Chinese bikes are always long term trouble. Just ask the experienced mechanics that refuse to work on them 🤣

Not sure if anybike with "Adventure" in the name should be offered with a meagre tank range and what looks like minimal carrying capacity.As such I can see it as a niche market bike and a cheaper option to a Honda crf350.. looks smart though.i would wait to see what options become available such as pannier racks carriers etc as their availability ( like the Himalayan) may help to increase sales imho

Does it have Adventure in the name? It’s got more than enough range for most people, you’re not going to want to sit on any small bike for hours without stretching your leg and it gets a lot of miles from every litre of fuel you put in. The mode for luggage on this sort of bike does away with the need for pannier racks, less outlay, less weight.

The elephant in the room is the same that applies to all chinese bikes..can you get spares, how well will it stand up to a british winter and resale value. I know the chinese bikes have really improved but would you be better off with a used Himalayan?
@markpulling12

Hi Dave yes a good used Himalayan would be perfect...I guess this is just a different option..alot lighter too Lots of choice about now Cheers mark

@Mark Pulling it's great that we have a choice. The Himalayan is a heavy bike compared to the KTM, Honda and now Voge. I wonder if any luggage options will be available, not necessarily aluminium panniers.

@@AliasMrHackenbacker there is already pannier frame available from Ali Express. The bike has been in same in Asia for some time under a different brand name..

Engine is Kawa KLX 300 so you can use parts from this. No big deal. Bike is super easy to work on. Oil Filter, Sprockets and so on you can grab from your Kawa Dealer. Pretty much everything on this bike is some sort of spare part from other brands. It's a Loncin Bike after all. I would never buy other Chinese Brands. But Voge/Loncin is probably the only one you can buy atm. BMW let the GS 750 and 850 completely build there, in the same factory where is little bike pops out. They also build some japanese entry market engines from 150 to 500cc. Just put this bike side by side with the CRF 300 Rally. The Honda is losing in some quality ways. You can feel the Thailand build quality on the CRF. Especially the plastics, switches, gear box and the horrendous suspension. All parts where this cheap Chinese is better, crazy.

Great bike, dirt roads/two tracks are likely its limit Ito off roading. It's a pity there is no mud or water protection on front wheel. Looks like rider's legs and feet, engine, radiator will get blasted.

I think it’s limit will be a lot higher. Almost any bike an cope with dirt tracks, the Voge raises the game far beyond that.
