I bought one 2 months ago and I have to say very good bike with a lot of extras from factory comfortable and very beautiful at least for my taste! With 2 years warranty there is nothing to fear plus Loncin is a giant motorcycle and engine manufacturer

I like the added extras like the crash bars being included. You're spot on about Chinese stuff. Virtually all of our electronics are made in China and as you say many other goods.

Thanks, Dave; an unbiased report. When Honda first started importing motorcycles into the UK, many people were dismissive of them. The perception was that they were cheap rubbish... Didn't that perception change quickly! Back in 1968 I owned a 1966 Honda CB77, the Super Hawk, 305 cc twin and it was a better and faster bike than most British ones of over twice the capacity. In 2022 I bought a new Skygo Earl Classic 150 at a big dealer to use here in the Philippines; it's actually a locally-assembled Lifan, from China, so parts are no worries - not that I've needed any. Has kick and electric start, is oil-tight, CDI with a carby, disc front/drum rear, weighs 106kg with a 5-speed 'box. Works fine, more than keeps up with the local traffic and runs on the smell of an oily rag. Cost? 45K peso cash, ride away - say around 670 GBP. Engine mounts and numerous other parts etc are the same as the Honda... What's not to like?

I have no doubt the bike will be built to a good standard for the price . The only problems I can foresee will be due to the motorcycle media & the usual mention of an A2 bike should have the maximum horsepower allowed . Another problem could be parts supply if the bike doesn’t sell in large numbers in U.K. to justify aftermarket producing good pattern parts & extras . As for it being Chinese I wouldn’t worry ,as one of my bikes is a Suzuki Vee Strom 250 DE Chinese built ,with well tried & tested engine ,& from what I can see built just as good as any modern Japanese built Suzuki . The Chinese have certainly upped there game ,& I doubt if there is any new bike ,that doesn’t contain at least parts or an engine built in China,if not the whole machine . If the engine is used on other bikes I reckon engine parts shouldn’t be a problem , & I dare say some of the other parts barring plastics will be fairly generic ,so for the price ,it’s got to be worth a punt ,especially for those that do their own maintenance & repairs . Good review 👍

Had a Chinese trailie a few ago bought it for pennies, some assembly required, ran it for the summer mostly off road, on road to get to off road, called it red baron as it was post box red and vibrated like a biplane above 50mph. Sold it for what a bought it for and had a right bloody laugh on it Almost forgot, i had a beep beep buzzer on the indicators, weirdly people noticed it, sounded like a bin wagon when turning 😂 Top tip, do a couple of mates rates wiring jobs for the local farmers and enjoy all the off-road you could even want

Late again, Dave but another good overview. Pleased to see that bikes like these are slowly finding a market. I recall Japanese trail bikes of the 70s/early 80s and this and the CRF are almost a nod to those times. Simple and not festooned with tech. I reckon this bike, if cared for, will perform well as a daily commuter and give a lot of fun and learning on on a prospective buyer's local green lanes. Understandably, there is a lot of doubt concerning this bike's origins. I say, look at the first Japanese bikes coming into the UK market for the first time 60 years' ago. Lots of ridicule. Look at them now. Good one, pal.👍

Thank you Mark I think that the doubts about Chinese bikes are a manifestation of exactly the same doubts about Japanese bikes in the 70s

I did my Apprenticeship with a Honda Dealer in the sixties...their Products were Superb from the outset......not so with Chinese Automotive ....
@markfranks1329
@markfranks1329 8 ай бұрын
That might very well have been the case, but that was not my point. Japanese bikes of the early 60s could have been produced with Rolls Royce precision. The problem was trying to convince a very sceptical motorcycling community to buy products from a country they had been at war with 20 odd years previously and were still very angry at. My point was the Japanese were given a chance, why can't the Chinese? What are Chinese bikes going to be like in 60 years, I wonder? Hmmm......🤔

I still like the look of this bike even after saying no to the dealer after a test ride. The buzzy nature of the engine went through my bum and I ended up with mild tooth ache aswell. I was not inpressed with the rust issues either! Other than that I am sure it will last you a couple of years before you have to get rid!

I like the Voge's looks better than the CRF Rally which has the most hideous headlights I've seen. I like the screen on the Voge, too. Is your local just outside Bingley? 11:34 I got stuck riding roads worse than this in Chiang Rai province on my SCR950 yesterday. Quite by accident as I ran out of tarmac. I didn't enjoy it. I'm moving back to the Skipton/Keighley area next spring for the time of the year I spend in Europe, so I'll check Appleyard's out. I first went there in 1972. Nick J

For £4k,I'd plumb for a second-hand Honda. Chinese bikes are notoriously famous for poor-quality components and next-to-zero residials,whereas the Honda will be of a far better quality with rock-solid second-hand re-sale values.
