This is about the wild birds (ducks, gulls, passerines, egrets etc) that come to visit the beachside and the estuaries of the various rivers that flow down to part of the Bay of Ise. Vegetation is sparser and birds are mostly on the mudflats at low tide or waiting in the estuaries at high tide. It is the season for the falcated teals drakes to be chosen as partner by females and they display through bowing frequently; the Saunder's gull is a very good hunter and can fish 3 or 4 times in 5mn. Oystercatchers are rarer in Asia than they are in Europe. Pelagic cormorants are not often seen.
