#Japan#Wild Birds# Beach & Estuaries#Saunders Gull # Pelagic Cormorant# Oystercachers#Waders#Falcated teals#
This is about the wild birds (ducks, gulls, passerines, egrets etc) that come to visit the beachside and the estuaries of the various rivers that flow down to part of the Bay of Ise. Vegetation is sparser and birds are mostly on the mudflats at low tide or waiting in the estuaries at high tide. It is the season for the falcated teals drakes to be chosen as partner by females and they display through bowing frequently; the Saunder's gull is a very good hunter and can fish 3 or 4 times in 5mn. Oystercatchers are rarer in Asia than they are in Europe. Pelagic cormorants are not often seen.

A most enjoyable video with music that doesn't intrude on the beautiful birds. Thank you so much for this video. Joan

It is I who thank you.🙏 I am glad of your opinion and that you think the music isn’t irritating. I use it to cut out background noise that can’t be avoided such as harbour noise or tractors or ambulances ( they are everywhere and set their alarm at full blast). Thank you indeed and I hope to see more of your lovely birds soon.😊😊👋👋🙏🙏‼️

Thank you very much . It’s kind of you to write. There were lots of birds which was unusual at any rate down in the bay of Ise where nature is disappearing fast. Very good luck in your filming and your finding animals/birds !🍀🍀😊😊‼️

Those grebes look just like ours! That's surprising because the more common grebes in Australia look quite different. The ducks sticking their bum in the air is funny. There must be a great ambiance to be there at dusk. A lovely compilation👍

Hello and thank you! Yes I also found the shovelers upside down amusing and they are funny ducks with lots of weird habits. The grebes are what is called little grebes or dabchicks both in Japan and in Europe. I would be surprised if they were the same as yours since all the birds of Australia are incredibly special. Maybe there is only a line or a shade difference? What was unusual was the fact that normally you see one or two at a time and not more unless they are with young family but it’s not the season. I hope you will get some rain. We have had 1 day of snow and suddenly the rivers seem a bit healthier. That won’t last though. Lots of luck 🍀 if possible. Thank you again.

Hello! It's full of oystercatchers. Many of the ducks are very beautiful. There are many wild birds in your videos that are rare to me. Watching your video made me want to grab a telescope and go out to sea. Thank you for sharing us the video. Have a nice weekend!

How very kind to write! The sea was especially full of birds this time: lots of ducks. Oystercatchers seem to like the area. Gulls are really difficult to identify. But Saunders gull (ズグロカモメ) is very special. It has a lovely short cry when it is hunting. However 伊勢湾 is far away and it takes hours by car to get there and drive along the coast . The good spots are all near harbors or even factories (for example near Yokkaichi) and it’s difficult to take photos of landscapes in there! I will be awaiting your next video. Very good luck !
