During the winter it didn't rain in Tokyo. There were no more than 5cm in this small river and fish was nowhere to be seen. Then last week, it snowed a lot during 24h. Suddenly the river started flowing fast and many birds came back, with the aim of feeding on anything they could find. A Japanese wagtail there is good at catching small fishes, an other small birds at extracting food from the tall grass stems. It is also the residence of kingfishers so fish is definitely back at least for a while. Azure-winged magpies are seen on its banks and birds started their courtship display in their own way.
