One note: Those tow mirrors don’t come with the tow package. They are another add on. Check the sticker. It was another separate option. So be careful optioning the truck.

I think chrome holds up better, although I’ve seen a few new fords rusting right thru the chrome. Painted has paint chips and stuff like that galore. That said, all the higher trims seem to only come painted????

Good review, sir. The truck itself is very nice. The price, however, is way into “crack pipe” territory. I bought a Silverado 3500 LTZ Duramax absolutely loaded for $79K last year, and while you could argue the Ford’s interior is nicer, the capabilities are light years apart.

Other then recalls the f150 is not breaking down on the side of the road they are pretty reliable

Good review something I might add. You motioned that in sport mode it automatically switch's to all wheel drive or 4w auto. In reality you can hit the 2wd after selecting sport mode button and it will indicate sport mode 2wd..Just an FYI

Almost the perfect tow rig! Thank you for showing the payload! The owner skipped the added weight of the moonroof, FX4 skid plates, Powerboost batteries, etc. Going after the highest payload, and it’s still only 1589 lbs. ☹. Ford needs to bring back the HDPP, or make the F200. I need 2000 lbs. payload for passengers, cargo & tongue weight. The F250 is overkill.

My 2018 F150 XLT FX4 Max Tow had 1750lb of payload capacity. I would say go for an XLT if you want the extra payload. I needed more so I sized up.

@JC-tc7uh There was a '22 KR F250 that I was looking at with 2500 lbs, but we have a farm so I needed more, but I would look into a 3/4 ton. That 2500lbs goes down pretty quick when you start adding people, tools, etc.

actually the payload is 1780# on my truck with a 6.5' bed and towing capability of 13,500 not bad for a heavy 1/2 ton truck!

A nice truck, no doubt. But, for $76k I'd just choose an XLT 3/4 ton over the Lariet trim and max tow 1/2 ton

3/4 or 1 ton will hold up and have much better resale IMHO. You will have a rougher ride and worse fuel economy though. I always go at least 2500…. Has served me well.

I like the F150, but the truth is you can get an SLT, which is a very nice truck for the same price range as an XLT, which is a mid grade trim.

And I have a loaded ford, minus a few electronic gizmos. And it's not just Ford that has gone insane with its pricing, it's all manufacturers!

I bought a 2500 L5P HC for way less than Ford wanted for Lariat and above. More options for less $$. Around us, least to most expensive for similar truck - Chevy, GMC, Ford, RAM. So I would buy and GM or Ford product, whatever I got the best deal on…

I’d stick with the 5.0 and wouldn’t even think twice about it . Still can get the max tow package with it . Payload might be higher too with the coyote

$76k for a lariat F150 is in insane . Might as well go for a platinum or better yet you can get a LTZ max tow Silverado for less even with the diesel option

That truck is not equipped with max tow according to window sticker. It has the basic tow haul package. The max tow package is $2k+ upgrade. My F150 is equipped with max tow package

@@hellkitty1014 That's only with the 5.0. The 3.5 can have either the 3.73 or the 3.55 rear end, at least in Canada its that way. The window sticker does say "3.55 Max Tow E-Lock..."

It's crazy me and my dad got our 2023 Lariat for literally 66k after TTL and 1.9% interest rate. This new 2024 doesn't look that much different inside, of course on the outside there are differences.
