It’s funny how relatable your situation is. 2024 ATAS, manual, 260lb guy, lightweight son as passenger, similar attitude to avoiding cosmetic damage, aesthetics on luggage, etc etc.

That's great you've been getting some riding in, it's been so hot here in New Brunswick I haven't been out much and I'm only at 1000km. I'm still completely lost with using the dash, your demo here may help me but then again I am King of the Luddites so maybe not. My top box just came in last week, holy crap it is huge! I am used to travelling light, all my camping gear is very small & lightweight from my days of multi-day long range hiking trips, I could probably fit everything for 2 weeks in the top box alone and not even need the side cases. I've been using Cena comms for years, it works great both to my passenger and to my riding partner when doing long trips together. I am due for both a new helmet and new comms, I'm going with the LS2 Advant X modular and the Cardo unit made specifically for that helmet. I've been wearing the LS2 Valiant for 8 years now and it is hands down the best helmet I have ever had but I like modulars.

The dash just requires you to sit and play for 20 minutes and then it makes sense. The left side button pod take a few rides to get used to the button placement and get that muscle memory built up. I still fumble from time to time... but it's getting easier each ride.

I have the same comm system, as well as the Cardo PackTalk and the upgrade to the system you have. Knowing what I know now I would pass on getting the Cardo. I think the sound, mics and noise cancelling are much better on the other units. Thinking about adding an AT AS to the stable, maybe next year...

Hey, this is wierd.. Had the 2024 atas since launch now and the topbox passanger back rest have never fell off, the black paint on the pillion footrests is not wearing as yours, and min have 6700km now. I hope like you that there is some winddeflectors for the atas soon but not likely.. Have a nice day and enjoy the great bike :) Greetings from Norway.
@coolhandchunk3 ай бұрын
@eastman79 thanks for the feedback. As for the paint wear, I am sure that it is likely more the result of my son not being careful getting on and off the bike. With the backrest pad.... I installed myself. I wonder if the dealer installs the pad they use a different adhesive or employ some special prep knowing there is a potential issue. Or perhaps the adhesive on my pad had degraded from storage???

I have covered the wear areas with clear stone chip plastic sheet. Go see your local panel beater or trim shop. Cheap and stops damage to the frame and tank where the legs and the fat guts i have hit the tank.

@coolhandchunk3 ай бұрын
@heyspookyboogie644 I haven't bothered with the wireless adaptors. I didn't want to tear half the bike apart to hide the dongle and the extra cost with the wireless option was a tough pill to swallow compared to a $15 Anker cable.

Do the plastic or metal side cases need an additional bracket?
@coolhandchunk3 ай бұрын
The plastic side cases do not... they attach directly to the bike. The only to add is a small rubber piece that comes with the cases. The plastic top box needs a plastic mounting plate (comes with the case here in Canada) and it bolts directly to the rear rack on the bike. The metal side cases and top box require additional mounting brackets... I think they come with the cases.... but not 100% sure.
