The unwarranted hate towards the new Daytona 660 is astonishingly stupid. The only people complaining about it are folks mad that its not a track oriented super-sport on par with the ZX-6R. If you actually look at the specs, the Daytona 660 has the highest power/weight and best power/price ratio in the entire middleweight market. People are complaining just to hear themselves talk, and even if the bike was a super-sport that weighed 10 kilos less, had 40 more hp, and a super aggressive track-oriented riding position, 90% of the folks bitching wouldn't even buy it, because it'd cost $15-16k minimum. Its just the vocal minority complaining about the bike.

@@loftyintentions1985 the 650 is a Sports Tourer bike, like its big brother Ninja 1000. It was perfectly fine when it came out nearly 2 decades ago in 06' because it undercut all its potential competition by atleast a couple thousand $. Its closest competition would have been the SV 650S, which is more of a naked with a windscreen. Now, while it's still the cheapest middleweight bike, it no longer holds up because it hasn't kept up with advancements made in other bikes. Yamaha and Suzuki both went the route of "you either get a track bike, or you get a naked bike, no in-between" atleast until the GSX-8R this year. And, lets face it, nothing Kawasaki could have done to the Ninja 650 would have made it truly compete with the CBR650R once it came out, even if it was cheaper. So yea, now it feels sluggish and soulless, but 15 years ago, everyone wanted a Ninja. It was literally a household name. There's only one Aprilia dealer within 25 miles of me, and I live in the 2nd largest city in the midwest.
