Very nice to have spent the last 1 1/4 hours with you! I love the first Dutch sampler you showed and I think it should be your sampler for January. No matter which one you choose - enjoy!

I would do the one in the blue birds bag as a blessing sampler! I love them all! I like the marbled look of the Heartland fabric with the dark brown floss! You have so many pieces all ready to start! I loved seeing your bags and hearing your stories!😊

Dirty Porcelain for sure is my first choice. I too love black samplers. Blessing your first Dutch one you showed.

I'm a black sampler girl too! I want to do a black sampler wall. And for the blessing sampler, I love the piece tied to your heritage! How special!

I look forward to meeting you in person as I will be at weekend two of Stitch North. I was also at Jacob Palouza, so we no doubt crossed paths there. 😊

Hello! Wonderful kit parade. For your 2024 blessing sampler I would go with the first one you showed us. It has a beautiful story behind it. Happy Stitching!

Yes, you’re right! Happy stitching to you too ♥️

Thank you; your joy, enthusiasm, and expertise can inspire us all! First I have wanted to thank you for your recommendation to visit De Afstap in Amsterdam. I got to go in September at the end of a trip and it was fun! Got an Aida/Anchor kit with design of canal houses and a book of some windmill patterns. And my first Danish Flower Thread which I used in a couple gifted Christmas ornaments. Great souvenirs! Secondly about a blessing sampler.... You are young but none of us know what may happen. I am 70 and had very unexpected breast cancer diagnosis, surgery, and great prognosis this year (looks all clear as of now). So since you have in mind to bless your family also with one of those I would choose the Dutch sampler that has the family connection. Get it or them done. The Spencer Hats one might come next, esp as it has pretty pinks and reds if you are still stitching into February❤! So that's my thought. Any of your choices would be lovely and meaningful

Hello, thank you so much for your thoughtful comment and insights. I’m so happy to hear that your prognosis is looking good! You’re definitely right, I should prioritize gifts for my family. There were a few deaths in my family this year and it has definitely reminded me of the importance of those relationships and family legacy. I would like to stitch Lammegien for my cousins first, especially the ones I don’t see very often. Your thought on Sarah Spencer next to coincide with valentines is also a great idea. Very smart! I’m wishing you a wonderful holiday period and continued health in the new year. Big hugs! 🥰

I agree all those linens would look great but i think I would use Hartland.

Great choice for your blessing sampler. The ship is very similar to the Virginie Cochepin 1837 sampler, even a few butterflies. Have a wonderful Christmas
@cardamenpinsКүн бұрын
I read your comment and immediately ordered Virginie Cochepin! They will look so nice together, thank you so much for informing me of beautiful Virginie’s existence!!

I really like your conversion for the Nordic Christmas Countdown! And so cool that they match their friends from previous years! I'm going to weekend #1 at Stitch North so I won't get to meet you 😔this year. All the projects are lovely Blessings Samplers. My fave was the Kathy Barrick Dutch Sampler! I'll be stitching something easier - the Blessings Sampler pattern by the Camping Stitcher.

Thank you! I wasn’t familiar with that designer, what a nice discovery for me! And also such a nice idea to design a new blessing sampler every year 🥰

I like the first sampler kit you showed for your blessing sampler; since it was stitched in the village your ancestor's are from, I think it would be a special one. The black sampler would look good on either of the first two fabrics and while I love Heartland, to me it seemed to "brown/tan" for the floss - might have been how it showed up on my monitor! Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Thank you for your suggestions. Lammegien Pot definitely pulls on my heart the most

Merry Christmas Cardamen!! Loved your parade. Was thinking about you last night. My husband snd i went to see a candlelight performance in london ontario with a four piece e string quartet! It was beautiful! They played The Nutcracker and Vivaldi…two of my favourites!! My son went to Pearson school for the arts and played violin, so it brought back fond memories. He plays 5 instruments.
@cardamenpinsКүн бұрын
Marlene, that’s amazing! I know the members of that quartet, I actually mention one of them in this video when I talk about gifting a mill hill kit to my friend who cross stitched as a kid. The violinist with blond hair, that’s my friend Jessica!

So much fun watching Carmen. You’re a joy your blessing sampler are cool selections. I am a stitcher of many years but just started stitching continually this last 2024. I’m a Quilter and I make projects bags. And have lots of people too so far for Christmas I do make my Christmas for my grandkids and etc.. I hope to go to a cross stitching retreat one of these days, but have not found one in my area here in Idaho merry Christmas.
@cardamenpinsКүн бұрын
Quilting is so cool! Your grandkids are very lucky to get handmade gifts from you. I’m sure they’ll treasure them forever. I definitely recommend going to a retreat if you can but I understand that it can be hard to find one nearby. Sablesticher has a website which lists all sorts of retreats all over the place. If you google “sablestitcher retreats” you should be able to find the list and maybe there’s something near you. Happy new year and I wish you lots more happy stitching in 2025!

I agree that knitting is a lot easier to travel with but Mill Hill kits (minus the beading) are also great travel crafts!
@cardamenpinsКүн бұрын
Hmm you’re giving me ideas. I might have to bring one with me on my holiday travels 🤔

The time with you is the BEST! I loved seeing your kitted things. But my vote for the Blessing Sampler is the first one you showed. Wow! That one is really beautiful and I can hardly wait to see it stitched. Have a lovely Christmas.
@cardamenpinsКүн бұрын
Happy Christmas to you too! Lammegien is definitely a front runner
@nicolec25232 күн бұрын
Yes I would go with the less mottled linen for the black sampler. Yes the Mill Hill kits are not within the wheelhouse of your regular stitches but your Christmas tree needs a different stitch style. So it is ok. My vote is Lammegien Pot.
@cardamenpinsКүн бұрын
You’re right about mill hill! A tree might look a little strange covered in samplers 🤪

Enjoyed your floss tube! I think your blessings sampler should be Elizabeth Cheavins. I like all your patterns so any one of them would be great! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
@cardamenpinsКүн бұрын
If Elizabeth isn’t the one I go with I definitely will stitch her soon. I love it so much!

Lammegien should of course be your blessing sampler. I about fell off my chair when you said it would take you only half January. YIKES. i would be luck to get it done in january ONLY doing that. OH you mentioned stich north and ... there were spots! as of today my friend and I will be at week 2. look forward to meeting you! Will you be doing a smalls exchange? 225 gifts for everyone is a bit much for me but I hope to do table gifts.
@dboyce256Күн бұрын
I would go with the one you love linen.
@cardamenpinsКүн бұрын
The tough thing is that I love them ALL! 🤪
@susanblonsky7404Күн бұрын
OMG! Your little animals are so realistic looking! Where did the patterns come from? I usually only have 3 projects going at once. More just means less progress on everything. Not for me. Altho I'm not a sampler stitcher, I enjoy watching your videos.your enthusiasm is heartwarming!
@cardamenpinsКүн бұрын
The stuffies are both by dot pebbles design. The patterns are called beagle puppy and wild rabbit. Definitely a labour of love but the end result is so worth it!

I’d go with the Heartland linen. The piece will look less modern. Thank you for another wonderful video, Carmen!
@cardamenpinsКүн бұрын
Interesting point, another thing to consider! It’s such a beautiful piece of linen, even just on its own with no stitching on it (yet)
@cindyathome2 күн бұрын
My vote is the original lambswool. ❤ Have fun with whatever you choose.
@cardamenpinsКүн бұрын
Very sensible. I fear that I may never use the lambswool if I don’t use it with this sampler so that’s also a motivator
