@@MachE_VLOG I am 65 and used to work at a garage for about 20 years as a car cleaner with about a hundred cars that i used to start every week for about 20 minutes to keep the batteries from going flat and never once did i see any of them catch fire and once i ask a fireman how many car fires did they go to and and he said very few and most were only ones that were set on fire

Of course my favorite was the GV60 Magma 🎉 But I also really liked the Kia modular van concept, would love to see that on the road. Interesting to see actual NACS ports on the Ionic 5 and 9, I did manage to get the port door on the green Ionic 9 to open. You had to press on exactly the right secret spot, hopefully the final production cars will be easier. My favorite thing in the whole show wasn’t a car, it was the Subaru nature theater. It was so mesmerizing and relaxing I sat on one of the benches for at least 20 minutes. Honestly it was hard to tear myself away to go look at more cars!

My friend group is center-left to left and Tesla is a no go. I don’t think the cars are bad, but the front man has turned a lot of people I know from the company. I currently own an Ioniq 5. Wouldn’t mind upgrading to the 9 in a couple of years.

Kia EV9 Adventure and Ioniq 9 are the ones I like, I'm hoping next year or in 2026 that GM will do like Hyundai and Kia with their EVs with fast charging and have sport versions of their EVs with Equinox and Blazer, and also change that opening port on the Blazer.

When you said "Do you want to be fast or do you want to be loud?" Can't I be both. I love the Ioniq 5N for that reason. But (for me) it's too big, if they could make one the size of an i20/i30/Fiesta/Focus. That's what I'm waiting to see.

I was at the Seattle Auto Show a week or so ago. What a difference in the quality and scope of the products on display, compared to LA.. VW didn't even have the ID 4 represented. Maybe they don't have their door problem sorted yet? And, where is the Optiq from Cadillac? Really want to see that one.

Nice review! I’m a Tesla fan and don’t judge people’s politics on the car they drive, but there are so many other exciting EV’s on the way. From this show i like the Equinox EV, Prologue and Ionic 9. My ID.4 lease ends in 2 years and currently am considering the Equinox, Prologue, R2, Lyric/Optic, EV9/Ionic9. So many solid choices!The future is now! LOL.

Thanks for the great video. It is amazing all the selection people now have for EVs. The Mach-E was under glass when I first saw it at the New England Auto Show. It was not until I test drove my Mach-E before buying that I got inside one. Mine is Rapid Red, and I find it interesting they discontinued it as Ford has used that paint code for years. I would consider Velocity Blue for my next Mach-E. I am waiting to see what a Ford 800 volt platform with a solid state battery will look like. I saw a Kia EV 6 GT at the New England Auto Show and they had a EV 6 GT simulator. I borrowed a Kia Niro EV before I bought the Mach-E and I liked it, although the Mach-E is a better road trip vehicle. The Kia PV5 WKNDR looks great for camping. I am more familar with the old Webasto name than AMPURE. I also talked to other EV owners about getting safe EVSE equipment.

Hyundai and Kia are the only OEMs that have made a successful shift to EVs, whereas European and American manufacturers are lagging behind. As for the Japanese, they remain committed to hybrid technology. I foresee Tesla, Hyundai, and Kia emerging as the dominant players in the EV market in the years to come.

Nice roundup of EVs at the show! Thanks for showing us around. The elephant in the room for Ford is must better charging speed. There needs to be a huge bump to the charging speed and thermal management around that, and the efficiency bumps need to continue. We need to see charging speeds more on par with the eGMP cars or faster. I just saw Ryan on OOS Testing do the Rally test for the 10% challenge... Not good at all. This has to change. Ford should set a goal to be near or at the top of the 10% challenge. Make that their goal and get it done.

Wife owns a Genesis GV70. For the price it has some good features. However, I drove it on one long distance trip and Ill never drive it again due to the discomfort my backside started feeling after only 2 hours of driving. We take my Acura MDX as I find it much more comfortable. As a comparison, I've taken many trips of 8 to 12 hours without having that discomfort in many different vehicles.

Great walkthrough and up-close views of so many vehicles! Have you seen the Molten Magenta on the Mach-E? The photos I've seen give it a hot-pinkish look, and along with Velocity Blue, it looks like Ford is trying to go in the Hot Wheels direction with their colors. While I applaud the non-white and non-gray of it all, I will mourn the loss of Rapid Red. I was really hoping for Kona Blue to hit the Mach-E, but alas, it was not meant to be... 😪

I have a lightning extended range. If I could afford it I would get a Hummer. I watched a video where the Hummer did a tug of war with a Dodge Ram Diesel Dully and the Hummer pulled the Ram like it was nothing. I really dislike all those toyota and honda EV's made by GM. The fact that those companies can't and refuse to make their own EVs really sucks and I can't understand people supporting them in their slothness

Do I think the Tesla brand has been tarnished in a way? Yes in a way no. And the reason why I say this is because there's a lot of things going on one of the biggest things we look for in vehicles is safety and from a consumer standpoint. Safety seems to not be one of Tesla's main goals right now. Hey I'm an EV guy. I own an EV. The first EV that I wanted to get was the model s which comes to my second situation with Tesla. They just want too much money for an average vehicle. The model s goes for about $97,000 with the bells and the whistles. That's not a Mercedes. You can't even just go off and take a drive and then park your vehicle in front of your home and just randomly charge. You have to have that set up in your home and that goes with any EV. You have to set those up in your home so spending $100 on a vehicle that's not in high-end vehicle. It's kind of outrageous from a consumer standpoint. I'm a middle-class guy. I'm the working class guy. You know I'm not rich. I pay my bills on time but I know when I hear somebody's trying to screw me or get over on me versus me getting a deal me getting something reliable compared to other makers. When it comes to their EV models you talk about $100,000. I expect to see that in Cadillac lyric I expect to see that in Audi. I expect to see that in Mercedes. I don't expect to see that in Ford. Tesla Hyundai Toyota Nissan now I'm not saying I want $100,000 car for $30,000. It would be nice but no that's not what I'm saying. I completely understand you making the vehicle which most manufacturers do. They have a $30,000 vehicle range? They have a $50,000 vehicle range. By the way the Honda Accord the Nissan Altima. They're not $50,000 vehicles but they're close to it. They probably are but we know that they're worth it. We don't see that in Tesla now. Let's look at safety wise they claim to be safety but how can you claim to be safe? If you can't even follow the safety role of the organizations that monitor and carry out those rules, why wouldn't you conform to the safety standard? Why wouldn't you let them in your facilities to go over their vehicles then? Nth SB whatever they call that organization that sends the recalls in that tells you safety wise on your vehicle. National safety standard for the country. You guys know what I'm talking about. They're not allowed on any Tesla sites but they have conducted test on people's used Tesla possibly their owns. Some of them may own a Tesla and they tested it and it came back with poor standard readings. Not to mention all the recalls so Tesla has a lot of work to do. So if you ask me did the brand lose its touch? I don't think they ever had it. It was just something new that people wanted and now people are starting to realize. I can't even say people are starting to realize people are starting to die and have been dying and realizing that the hype is over, will it be Tesla's downfall possibly?

TBH the LA/Detroit auto shows feel like a sideshow compared to what's popping in China. There is a sense I used to get watching the circus in South Africa where you can't help feeling like the troupe is just 1/5th of the whole. As EV owner I will never use them to charge. I’m truly disappointed with GM as a Lyriq owner, they didn’t bargain in free charging for those who chose free charging for two years. Aldo highly disappointed they didn’t give us adopters for free like every other EV company did!! Though I’m never giving that man from Tesla a dime if my money’. TO ME GM isn’t ready to part of the EV brand. EVGO sucks!!

The Tesla booth was not the most popular. It was the smallest booth and had only minimal signage. In fact the first time I walked by I completely missed it. I think it was a last minute addition, it wasn’t listed on the show web site 10 days before the event. The CyberCab looked really crude, more like a toy than a drivable vehicle. I did enjoy the opportunity to sit inside a CyberTruck.
