By far, this and WEC are the best auto racing! The variety of cars, specs, drivers, speed and tracks to enjoy brings back fond memories from the 80’s with Group C. I need to get out to one of these races soon, haven’t been to one of this type since the Baltimore GP’s and DC before that. I did see a historic Group C race at VIR a while ago also, so that was awesome, but nothing like the number and variety of cars you guys are running now. Great job IMSA bringing in the big dogs again!!👏

Do it! This was the first race weekend I ever went out to. Me and my buddies had an amazing time at the track! You can go and see the cars and teams up close and person during the free pit walks before the race, you can move around the whole race circuit and pick up the action from whichever vantage point suits you, and the atmosphere was fantastic. The weekend was incredibly dynamic and well worth the price of admission and then some!

another good IMSA race that could have been great if not for the safety car interventions spoiling the various battles and strategies at play. That run to the last SC period was mega. Unfortunate that we cannot figure out a Code 60 type system that preserves the gaps and prevents the weird breaks and bad luck from the cycles of pitting under yellow. A pure endurance race is unbeatable! If fans want to see bunched up restarts to keep things "close" there are other series for that. Strategy and heartbreak are what (could) set endurance racing apart.

Minor spoiler for about 2 hours in. The front end damage for the 31 car came from side to side contact with the 01 car going into turn 1. The 31 was on the inside and spun 180 degrees and came to a stop on the exit of the turn. The 01 was unaffected. I'm a little surprised the 31 didn't get a warning for an unsafe rejoin because they crossed the track directly in front of the #120 Porsche. As far as I can tell, this was never picked up by TV or IMSA Radio, because a replay was never shown. Funny the things you see live at a race that never gets picked up because there's just too much going on to cover everything.

Am I the only one whose eyes occasionally get tricked by the position numbers on the side of the cars? Sometimes, at certain angles, when those numbers flicker I think it's the side of the car moving around. Might be due to the interaction between the display and the camera, unsure.

I'm sorry, I don't like that ruling. If you are going to red flag the race, then you need to let teams reset their car for the new conditions when you restart the race. They should be allowed to change tires. Also, when they stop other series, like the Japanese GT races, they divide the 500s and 300s into two columns, so the classes are split for the restart. If you are going to red flag and restart this race, save some time by splitting the LMPs and GTs into two columns for the restart.

Jeremy Shaw, I appreciate your commentary but your smacking noises on the mike are very annoying, especially if I'm listening via headphones. I sure hope you see this so you can make an effort to stop that habit. I've been having to listen to the smacking for years. It is not quite as bad this year, but it is still there. It's just a technique, a habit, it can be erradicated, just takes a little effort to be a little more professional. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy your commentary, just not the smacking noises. Thanks for posting but why post the race 6 days later? I was only able to watch the first 3 hours due to IMSA's terrible broadcasting relationships... Now the results and action has been spoiled over the course of a week and there's no real reason to watch this. Get your broadcasting priorities straightened out IMSA and John Doonan.
