Nice in depth, review. I have the 2022 Street Scrambler. If the 1200 x handles as well as the 900, i'm in!

Hi. Really enjoyed the video thanks. And the 1200 X is a great looking bike, especially in that colour. Seems you ride many of the same roads I do. It looked like you were on the Sedbergh to Hawes road, which is one of my fave’s on a late summers evening when there’s virtually no traffic. Grassington to Greenhow isn’t too shabby either. Looking forward to the next one. Keep up the good work👍🏍

Thanks and, yes, we do alright for roads here, don’t we. Can’t wait for those summer evenings you describe as well - hope to see you out there some time and share a brew! Glad you liked the vid and plenty more where this came from!

Has Triumph "dumbed down" the XE/XC"? No, they've just made the X more road focused and a natural step up from a Street Scrambler 900 IMO and that is exactly what I am doing. The XE has more "offroad" spec but has a HUGE achilles heel, it's weight at 230kg is 100kg overweight for any remotely serious off road use. It may have premium long travel suspension but it sort of reminds me of a shot putter in tights and a tutu. I have an Enduro bike at 115kg and even that can be a handful. Triumph should make a road legal Enduro version of their TF250 for off road and green laning use IMO. I REALLY like the styling and ride of the Street Scrambler and the 1200X is much closer to that look which is why it caught my eye.😀 After 40+yrs on top end superbikes I find the modern classics a refreshing change. Personally I'm not bothered about rider modes, "intelligent" ABS and TFT screens etc etc but it seems to be the way of things these days. Picking up the new ride next week!😃👍

Hopefully you got past my deliberate clickbait title, watched to the end and saw I concluded pretty much the same! Enjoy the new ride!
@phils21808 ай бұрын
@@midlifecrisismotorcyclist Yes, I did watch the full vid but I never thought much about the title TBH! I just saw the "1200X review" and clicked to get another rider's views on the new bike as I have done with many similar videos recently!😂 If I like a bike I'm not overly concerned wether anyone else likes it or not but it is interesting to see and hear other's impressions, especially someone like yourself who hasn't been road riding that long.👍 I know for a fact that many sports bike riders scoff at the modern classics but WGAS! Just for the record I also own a ZZR1400 which, while not a "sports" hack is a fantastic long distance mile eater with performance in a different league to the Scramblers!😂

Is the same weight as almost every middle weight adv. has more travel and ground clearance than every adv bike except the 890 adv r. Has about the same HP as the smaller middle weights and more torque than every middle weight adv and even the same torque as the Africa twin. It’s actually lighter than the Africa twin and has more suspension travel

Thank you for your viideos! I think the great lost was the cruise control. Up to now, I don´t have news if possible to buy it after market, as an accessory at Triumph website! If it was possible, please, let me know if you could! Thank you!

@@midlifecrisismotorcyclistI test rode one, 3 days later I was back for another test ride, I just couldn’t believe how much I’d enjoyed the first ride, by moving the torque even further down the Rev range they have made a great engine even better!, anyway mines now sitting in my garage almost run in 👍.

Triumph should have binned the XE and put its dash and brakes on this, as well as adjustable, just not as high , suspension. I wouldn't have minded paying more cash for that. As is, I think they have downgraded the X model too much.

is it true, the heat from the high exhaust pipe is unbearable?
@midlifecrisismotorcyclist8 ай бұрын
On a cold day like the one I was shooting on it was actually rather nice! Didn’t notice it as a problem on the the 900 I rode before, either. If I ever ride one in the sunshine I’ll let you know!
@logangodofcandy8 ай бұрын
No. The original had the catalytic converter right under the leg, so it got stupid hot. They moved it back on the '22 models. On these later models, the pipes obviously get hot, but on a 70 degree day IN SHORTS, it was kind of painful, but won't really burn a naked leg unless you hold it there for a few minutes. Really, it's not an issue.

hi i feel you are saying this bike is not suitable for off road. is that so? i take long rides in india. so tarmac you say is ok. what about mountains like laddakh where there is fair offroad trails broken roads and some water crossings. will this work there? i have a scrambler 400x now and wish to upgrade
@midlifecrisismotorcyclistАй бұрын
@@arvtalks Depends what you class as off road, I guess! It’s tough enough for gravel tracks, potholes and (on the right tyres) loose surfaces but if you want to really push it, hit stuff hard or need the ground clearance you probably need an XE. Or split the difference and get the older pre-MY24 XC, which has a bit more suspension travel than this but a little less than the XE. That would probably be ideal!
@arvindk64Ай бұрын
@@midlifecrisismotorcyclist thank you so much for your insight. In India you have only one model that is 1200 X. they will not bring in XE for whatever reason. I am 5'10" and my existing scrambler 400 x is 835 seat height and that also is not fully flatfooted. The new 1200x is 825 and gives me more confidence. Also in 2022 the pushed the CAT from under riders thigh to the exaust and Delhi being a very hot place older scramblers riders suffer. BTW i really dig your name

I'm shocked this has more HP than a T120, the T120 at 77HP the Scrambler X at 89. That's a pretty nice bump...
@da72ma3 күн бұрын
The difference here is the HT- High Torque Engine of the T120 and the Speedmaster for example vs the HP - High Power Engine of bikes like the Scrambler 1200 and the Speed 1200... the difference is not subtle, you can really feel the difference in the engines
@logangodofcandy8 ай бұрын
I have the XC and it is very off-road capable of you aren't some kind of crazy dirt bike person. The X is really just a street bike, a large version of the scrambler 900.
@aditya.ishan278 ай бұрын
I feel the same... Cutting down the suspension travel and seat height should not have been done. Moving from brembo m50 to nissin ..hmm I think that's fine. Using a different company's suspension is fine or using a different instrument cluster that is fine too, to cut cost. But they should have retained the XC specs on suspension and seat height at least.

The 1200 x has 3 more inches of travel in front and rear shocks. I have the 900 and it has no more capabilities for the dirt than a Road Glide. The 1200 x is good to go, for off road. I just wouldn't do it fast.@@aditya.ishan27
