@VesnaLambic Agree, the only thing keeping the 20k plus bike market alive in Europe is the PCP purchase plan, where people are in reality only renting there bike for 3 years, and to own it after 3 years they purchase the other half of its trade in value.Look at US market, where there is no PCP $100K Plus jeeps Grand Cherokees are growing moss in dealers, people can't afford 3 to 4 k a month repayments, on vehicles that are 45% over priced finance is now 8 years there.. The US consumer has awoken finally.

Another top review Mark. Let’s be perfectly honest here - this IS a BMW F900GS just in different clothes. The Chinese are now doing what some of the big car manufacturers did 20 years ago and just building lots of different brands under one big roof. If I had the choice of this or the Beemer at twice the price, fully specced up, it would be a complete no brainer. The West really needs to wake up and either create some really good bikes at fair prices for their brand or start rethinking whether they should be building bikes at all. I’ve always supported the big name manufacturers over the best decades of my riding years, but the value and spec of these machines can no longer be mocked or ignored entirely.

When I contacted them by telephone regarding the latest software update and service intervals I was told to contact the dealer…..they didn’t want to know or even talk to me. The dealers are also having difficulty with warranty claims, MotoGb are ignoring them also. It doesn’t bode well, whether Voge are aware of this unprofessional incompetence by MotoGb is yet to be confirmed. On that basis, whilst the 900 is a truly great machine for the price, service intervals at 3000 miles, unable to update the software to the latest 4.4 version and the authorised importer providing little if any after sales service, it is difficult to encourage anyone to buy one. As a new Transalp owner (18,400 kms in, and still loving it) I am staggered at the specs and price of this thing. Begs the question; how do they do it? Can't help wondering where these manufacturers, and their Japanese competitors, will be in five years or so. But that depends entirely on western acceptance of Chinese bikes, and that may take a little longer. How long can they keep offering these bikes at these prices, all Brembos and tubeless rims, if we aren't buying them? Our acceptance will depend on longer-term ride reports, and the establishment (or not) of independent dealerships. At the moment of course they tend to be additions to more established makes. This Voge is a little heavy, but then has SO MUCH by way of options, it's no wonder. So at this point we all just have to 'keep an open mind' and see where this goes. I notice the odd CFMoto turning up at our bike gatherings, and they have taken over a large part of the Honda dealership I bought my Transalp from. Our world is changing.

@@roadwarrior8560 Oh look - yes, they offer amazing value - no question. That is why I wondered (above) how long they can keep the prices so low - it seems economically temporary, just by virtue of the need to make a profit to continue. I have actually been following these offerings (along with the Kove 800) as they come onto the market, and am totally blown away by what they can offer for the price. As to the Transalp's air filter? You will get no argument from me there! I fitted a K&N around 12,000 kms, and have barely got over it yet, now over 19,000 kms... I counted 10 x panels, and roughly 50 x fasteners to remove! It took me a VERY long time, working methodically (being the first time) and yes - it was ridiculous. But it will be easier next time, and it must be said that the original (dry paper) filter was surprisingly clean, after so many dirt miles, so hopefully I won't have to clean it too often.

I think the issue most people seem to overlook, is the total lack of spares availability for voge and for that matter cfmoto, one of the reasons the major manufacturers charge more for their products is the large spares packages they maintain with the bikes they retail. Of the voge and cfmoto dealers I’ve spoken to not one had any spares , this then makes the insurance premiums higher as they are costed as a total loss premium due to no possibility to repair. This has happened with Chinese cars. The bikes themselves are indeed very good although they are using the association of bmw etc to aid sales, but it must be noted that bmw don’t get there engines made in China because they are good but just because it’s cheap to do so, that’s business sense. All il advise buyers is to just don’t drop it as insurance will right it of .

Western companies with expensive high end products realise that by using cheaper Chinese factories to build their products then they can make a LOT more profit. The problem is that the Chinese versions of the same products aren’t even copies anymore as they make the original BMW/KTM etc. ones anyway and can sell at a fraction of the price.

I’ve just traded the Voge 650 for the 900….it was the obvious transition. The 650 was 2 1/2 years old, ridden in all weathers, it scrubbed up well, the dealer was impressed and gave me a generous p/ex figure which came as a huge surprise. I stripped the 650 when I first bought it and checked it thoroughly and it compares favourably with any Japanese or European comparable model. I have a Tenere World Raid, again 2 1/2 years old and that engine is smooth but lacks the grunt of the 900 and of course lacks the gadgets and more expensive. We use Loncin engines in many of our small commercial machines, work them hard, change oil frequently and they keep on going, yet to have one fail. The 650 was a gamble purchase that paid off, great fun bike, had many big thumpers over the years, if you worked the motor on the twisties it was a real hoot, you really can throw it around. Not had the opportunity as yet to put the 900 through it’s paces as I’m a traditionalist and bed the engine and gearbox in gradually but it surprises you….just wants to go. Suggest you have a test ride, speak to other owners and then decide. The residual value is never great on anything that doesn’t costs a great deal to begin with. Best selling bike in Spain right now, long waiting list. Voge…the new Honda.
@IndigoJoАй бұрын
Did you ask them how easy it is to get spare parts for the Voge in case of breakdown or accident? I've heard of dealers saying "we'll cross that bridge when we come to it" and of sky-high insurance premiums because of lack of available parts.
@markpulling12Ай бұрын
Hi it's basically a BMW f900 sharing many parts so shouldn't be a problem Consumables like brake pads chains etc are easy off the shelf items Cheers mark

This bike have the same rims as the Kove from Japan, similar to BMW. And really, 235 kg, that a lot compared to tthe Kove 800 with the same 95 hp.
@petroosabdollahian1648Ай бұрын
Nice video, its a nice bike with way too many good components and good engine. the big problem is the residual value and depreciation quite compared to Japanese motorcycles, CF engine same issues. what do you think? Anyway great video Be safe
@neilmcmullen4331Ай бұрын
If Jap bike depreciates at 35/40% and the Voge is 50 you’re still quids in. Remember the phrase jap crap and now look.
@markpulling12Ай бұрын
Hi it's them same engine as bmw f850/900 gs so reliability is good 👍 Regarding depreciation... It's relative buy 9k sell , 5 k after a few years Bmw buy new 15:k sell 10 k after a few years if you catch my meaning Best wishes mark
@alanhenderson3417Ай бұрын
Exactly, depreciation is pro rata. If you managed to nab one of these lightly used that'd help to offset it.
@TidgeontourАй бұрын
9K New less 20% Vat the second it leaves the showroom = £7200 after 2years you would be lucky to see 4K and as its Chonk that's more likely to be 3k that's if its not rusted to death if used in winter
@petroosabdollahian1648Ай бұрын
@markpulling12 most consumers buy a reliable Japanese motorcycle when buying a used one, so a second-hand Honda is not that big of a difference from a new one. if you want to ride this Voge completely, that could be a good option, but trading it in after 3 or 4 years leaves nothing, I think!

Are these half the price of a BMW 900 GS in the UK? In Norway they are only 20-25 % cheaper than the 900 GS…

tbh if you plan to run mostly on the road and have around 10k (and more) I wouldn't understand why you would not go for those Voge ? It's a BMW fully equiped with half the BMW price tag. :3 (I do love my 800DE for being more versatile but I would kill for the cruise control, the heating grips and seat, the fog lights, the adjustable windshield, etc. :D )
@kugangles9860Ай бұрын
Zero aftermarket support, horrid resale value/depreciation, not the easiest to get parts just to name a few. There's a reason why these bikes are so cheap.
@MeldonatorАй бұрын
@@kugangles9860 not worst than Italian bikes for the support and the parts. The resale value isn't good because people aren't yet used to Chinese bikes and reacts defiantly just as you did. Nobody questions Japanese bikes nowadays. If you plan to ride only one year you can lease it if you fear the depreciation.

The pace at which new and more tech laden bikes are being released is bewildering, seems like everything is out of date as it is released. This is one of the most important bikes in 50 years, blows everyone else out of the water. Even the CF moto 800 is thousands more.... And in black this Voge looks really good.
@daddystu7046Ай бұрын
With the depreciation on these I would not buy one new. Even though it appears good value when compared to similar bikes. Truth is they're all stupidly overpriced. I'll certainly be on the lookout when these are 1/2 years old and selling for 5/6k! Do with they were a little lighter though.
@rajsmith9855Ай бұрын
Good luck with getting parts though - the Chinese brands have a habit of throwing it at a wall until it sticks - so lots of exploratory new models with no backup/spares.
