Surprised he never mentioned the addition of the rear wiper for MY25, for most this is a major and very welcome addition.

Pretty sure he never mentioned the rear wiper, but I appreciated the side buy side pictures. This is the most impressive refresh I know of since it gives a solid pump to the battery and address all of the things people complained about. I wish the new colors were not all matte paint but I’m happy with Lucid blue.

Recently I was involved in a crash a man ran the red light and tboned me I also had my girlfriend with me and it was on her side I was worried that she would be seriously injured but the car was so protective neither of us were injured just whiplash and rashes from the sweat belt he was also going around 60 to jsut shows that the ioniq is a super safe car that’s why I’m looking to buy any other one

I prefer the 2024 model looks better imho now they are taking off some element of the retro vibe

I got a smoking deal on a 24 I5. Call it what you like, it has enough cargo capacity behind the second row seats to accommodate my mothers wheelchair. My Subaru Outback had about the same capacity.

No discussion on software changes. I believe the infotainment hardware has been upgraded. The driver display has changed. Maps and Nav are now integrated. A button to open the charge port is now included inside. SiriusXM 360L has been added. Wireless Carplay and Android Auto. Rear wiper (thank G-d) finally added, especially for those of us in crummy climates. Many positive changes. This video just scratches the surface.

The 2025 updates are worth waiting for. I'm located in MN and the charging infrastructure is lacking, except for Tesla. Also, if I travel to St. Louis, MO to visit my son, Tesla has chargers all along the route. It would take me longer in a CCS car because some of the chargers on the route are only 50kwh. Great overview of the differences between the two model years. My guess that the 2024 models will be heavily discounted once the 2025 models are available.

Just remember, the Tesla chargers will only do about 95kW on 800 volt vehicles.

Jon, loved the side by side comparisons. In my mind the most important thing about this 2025 mid-cycle refresh is the inclusion of FULL OTA (over the air) updates. I won't even consider buying an electric car without them. Software Defined Vehicles are the future, and the future is now.

I had a 2023 Ioniq 5 Limited unfortunately it had issues with DC charging, (I think that was a one of) so this is exciting to see the longer range, the more functional OTA Software ability and the NACS port, although not sure they have addressed the low charge rates at enabled Tesla Version 3's, still routing for Hyundai as my 2020 Kia Soul EV (Canada) is still going strong with almost 110,000KM and no issues yet.

Mostly positive changes - but with the NACS capability coming in 2025 to the CCS equipped vehicles via an adapter, I don't know that it's such a big win. And the loss of EA free charging for 2025 models is a major cost increase for folks who could otherwise us EA (despite its seriously lacking experience). Aesthetically speaking I think I prefer the 2024 rear end, except for the lack of wiper which is a bonus for 2025. Also, from your video it appears the instrument cluster is reconfigured to with improved placement of current speed.

Hey Jon, you made a bit mistake on your table at time = 1:30 min. The I5N perform 0-100 km/h in 3.25 s, but 100 km/h is rather 62 mph than 162 mph !!!! I've also heard that the big battery cooling liquid replacement is now required every 6 years instead of every 3 years on the 2024 version. A job over 600$ !!!!

When you actually see a I5 in real life you realize labeling this as a SUV is a head scratcher. It is just a hatchback car. It looks great, but calling it a SUV is a stretch. The eGMP vehicles charge like a beast on chargers capable of delivering the juice. Efficiency is poor however and real world range isn't great. All that said Hyundai is doing a great job managing the lifecycle and refresh. It is apparent they are really working hard to make their EV's better. At the same time it appears clear they are cutting costs. TBD on how will the NACS equipped car will charge on Tesla SC's. The 2024 still doesn't charge well at all on SC's. Overall Hyundai/Kia are stepping up. Hope the next generation vehicle does a better job of packaging so that there is a better use of space. These cars should have a decent frunk, and better space in the back. I would love to see this car stretched into a wagon.

Hey Jon, I am curious why you didn't cover the most important updates in the video since you made a comparison between them. Showing some minor design differences doesn't do justice to the upgrades. 1. The addition of matrix headlights. A big issue with driving at night on winding roads. 2. The addition of anti-vibration suspension, not really adaptive, only for the N model. 3. The addition of an N-line option that gets the exterior design from the N model and some interior sporty additions without the extra power and lower ground clearance. 4. And of course the rear wiper, better battery cooling and management. I am really not sure what is the purpose of this video. With just a 30 min check online you can find out all the features I added above and I think they should have been included 🤷‍♂️ Also recomending matte paint... I am not sure about that. I have mine wrapped because if you damage it even a bit you need to repaint the whole element.

That fact that its still open to the floor between the frontseats is the only thing keeping me from buying it. Cant stand that it looks like a craftsmans wagon interior. Its too bad cause it looks awesome from the outside. But no EV has nailed the interior yet. They are too "futuristic and pretencious" looking.

@@flashfyre as well. The person with the real world experience I will tell you that your range with the all-wheel-drive model of a Hyundai I5 will be anywhere from 2 to 4 1/2 miles / KW.. summer driving in city 4.5 no problem. Interstate in the winter or cold weather at 80 mph closer to 2. I’ve averaged 3.4 right around the 260 mark per charge. Pull 200+ routinely from the DC chargers (sometimes over the stated 235) and can do a charge up lickity split on 350kw capacity stations
@flashfyre
@flashfyre Ай бұрын
@@skifriedland Here's my list before I pulled the plug. I have never owned an EV. 1) immorality of other people forced by the govt to purchase your "free battery" with a taxpayer subsidy. 2) Often state 230 mile range, but owner never experienced unless downhill, in a tailwind, driving 55mph in the slow lane. 3) Park for lunch, dash says 45 minutes to 90% charge Return -- now 1.5 hrs due to bms charge rate reduction also loud gurgling and pumping noises as the system tries to cool the battery. 4) Hotels charging $60 to use overnight level 2 charger 5) One unused charger and the display quotes $1.40 per kWh 6) Row of public chargers downtown connected to unused govt EVs. (displays show 10-14 days connected). Company says city contract exempts govt vehicles from overstay penalties. 7) "Charge an hour, drive an hour" experience shared across forums. 8) Buggy, geegaw cell phone style vehicle user interfaces throughout the market segment. ICE vehicles "recharge" in 3 minutes and drive for 320 miles. They are available for around half the price of a taxpayer subsidized Ionic 5.

That’s only the Ioniq 5 N and you can turn it off if your don’t want it or just buy the regular one. Beyond the noises the N has significant upgrades to make it better at the track. Not my cup of tea as I’d never use that level of capability but people who want that sort of thing seem to love it. You can have a quiet mild mannered hatch when you want and a track car when you want.

huge creatue comfort changes in this 2025 model year. It's going to be behind the model y for range and popularity, but I have a feeling market share for the ioniq5 might increase due to this vehicle NACS support and (for me) the black interior trim pieces, physical buttons for ventilated/heated seats, movable island for ultra comfort in the front drivers seat. What I'm going to miss is the damn sentry mode that is available in Korea on this car but not the US

The range is fine for most. I've been in both vehicles. The Ioniq 5 rides much nicer with no rattles. The Y sounds cheap. Hopefully the Juniper model will fix that. But there's still the one screen that buries everything under layers of menus. Give my physical switches that are always there.
