I am really liking this exterior blue color with the mixed Tan interior... very sharp. InfoT. system is lacking for sure. But, the competition is limited to attaining these HP/ Torque & MPG numbers. I have a 22 MDX Advance lease coming due in August. In order to get the power numbers of the CX-90 or CX-70, I would need to opt for a Type S model @ $13-14K More. Over 62k, the price of a Lexus RX or Acura MDX, but with only a 3 year warranty, no loaner during service (I confirmed this with the local dealer) and no upscale brand image. Then again, the CX70 is the same as the CX90 with the 3rd row removed, but equally expensive? And equally absolutely massive? I just don't get it. Also, look up the 5 year cost to own. Its MUCH more than a Lexus because of higher depreciation. Used, 2024, CX90s are now selling for 30k. Not a fan. I get that Mazda is small and they cannot afford to design lots of different types of categories within a model like Honda and Toyota do, but they're missing a lot of customers by not at least trying to field a more rugged "trail" type model. I mean, seriously, even Nissan realized that they had to butch up the feminine looking Pathfinder by creating the Rock Creek Edition. Mazda has gone all in by making all of their SUV's pretty much the same. But making the CX-70 and 90 the same price doesn't make much sense for 70 buyers. You're actually paying a premium NOT to have the 3rd row and extra space.

Those power figures are very disappointing for the inline 6

Inline engines have never been about power. Their main advantage is balance, refinement, smoothness and typically easier to work on when compared to a V6. By design, it will probably be more robust and last longer as a turbo charged engine than your typical V6 as well. This engine makes perfect sense in a more luxury oriented driver and I think Mazda did a good job at compromising to get refinement with decent HP and torque out of this type of engine in this size of vehicle. One thing I'm curious about is how hard the rear two spark plugs are going to be to replace. Typically inlines are easier to work on, but this is not transversely mounted.
