Last month my wife and I went back to Ontario for a quick visit to our families and we got a base model Sentra as a rental. I was flirting with 43 mpgs equivalent at 120 kph on the 401. 800 kms at $55 for a full tank over four days driving from Toronto to St Catherines all the way up to Alliston, back to St Catherines and back to Pierson international airport. It did have lane keep assist, radar cruise control, heated seats and steering wheel. I loved the seats especially on the highway. And I had no issues getting it up to speed.

The CVT aren't as bad as they used to, though I believe the oil needs to be changed somewhere around 50,000 to 100,000 miles. But most importantly the CVT makes it more gas efficient. A big plus with the car is that it has a non turbo engine and this engine is known to be reliable with it's biggest fault in being boring.

Kirk, after all these years of constant complaints about the Nissan cvt, WHY ON EARTH are they still jamming it down the throats of perspective buyers? WHY does it take facing them going out of business in order to give us a problem free transmission? They only just created the Maurano with a standard transmission. Why can't they read the writing on the wall and do that for for all..... FOR ALL... of the lineup? I used to be a Nissan buyer for many years but they lost my business. I am hoping they change and I would jump back in.

Understand that the government is forcing them to give better CO² emissions .. They are saving on carbon credits as well and their hybrids is coming in 2026 -2030 .. Keep in mind that these vehicles are e-Force elsewhere in the world .. Also remember that Nissan did have hybrids in the US with the Altima and Rogue but nobody wanted them ..
