I have a 992 GTS 2022. When I heard of the 992.2 I jumped to add my name to the list to get an allotment. When I learned of it being a hybrid I took it back. They couldn’t believe I didn’t want it. I am keeping my 992 GTS because the long term value is more certain than this first ever hybrid. For all we know these new hybrid motors could be just as hated and expensive to fix than current EVs. Turbo Porsches are tried and true

My 992.1 GTS is faster than my turbo s .1 off the line. And handles better. Turbo is fast 0 60 but off the line and curves, GTS is a beast

@@sebastianrosenbach7873 it’s not bs. GTS has a better handle because of the specific’s GTS PASM (with dual rear coil.) In a tight track, it will be faster than turbo s. No doubt about that.

I have a 2019 911 Turbo that I bought new. I was previously in a 2016 911 GTS but was hit head-on by a Chevy Silverado 3500 Dually; the driver was running from the Police. The GTS protected my life but I paid a severe price for being in a smaller sports car. Obviously the car was totaled. I was cut out of the car by the firemen. After numerous neck, back, shoulder and leg surgeries and 4 years of healing and having to learn to walk again I am back to almost normal. Still haven’t got back to playing golf. I was a scratch golfer handicap. My GTS was a cabriolet. My Turbo is a Guards Red coupe. I will not buy another Porsche that the PDK doesn’t let you shift with the center console control. Many times the paddles are not convenient so like in the GT cars you can shift gears using the stick on center console. The 991.2 911 is the last non GT 911 to provide this capability. Obviously it is important to the GT team. Porsche bring back this feature or otherwise offer a freaking MANUAL GTS or Turbo of Turbo S. (Second) get rid of the single-center locking lug nut. 7 times over 4 years every flat tire I had to have my 911 towed to a Porsche dealership to get a new fuking tire. A built in Porsche & Mercedes Benz SCAM!!!! Nobody but Porsche can get the wheels off. I have owned 17 Porsche cars and I won’t buy another until they go back to offering manual transmissions or center shift capabilities with PDK. Thanks for the video!!! I am subscribed!!! Like the engine changes in the hybrid but Porsche needs to fix the two issues that I mentioned!!!! Cheers‼️👍👊💪🇺🇸

Everyone has different opinions. I like the push button start, all digital display, new rear end, better performance,etc. I don’t love the horizontal slats up front but it’s not a deal breaker for me.

I also must admit , that as an owner of a 992/1 I was worried that the 992/2 will be not as good, as the one I own. To be honest, the only things I don’t like, is the loss of the analog instrument and the start button, but the rest is more than ok. Kind regards, M

A 992.2 with a stage 2 will be great!! No, wait 😂😂😂 nobody can remap the new central or the new electric turbo. my 992.1 GTS with a mild remap and 650hp is laughing in the garage right now 😂

It is tough to tell until you see it live since everyone is reacting to video shots and not having experienced it in person. The best gauge is the overall market and the wait lists and premiums to be charged are longer and bigger than ever. Call your dealer and see if you can one with no wait or without a premium.

Well done! Also, I'd like to highlight - the 992.1 sounds WAY better than the 992.2 t-hybid. I love the sound of my 2024 911 4 GTS. This is important to me.

I wouldn’t have considered buying the 2025 model if it stuck with the analogue tachometer. Great to see Porsche cater to the younger generation who want all the cutting edge tech. Back sears can be added as a no cost option. I would’ve scored this review 5-0 in favour of the 2025 model. Makes the 2024 model look dated imho. 8sec faster on the Nurburgring just wow.

I think the new 992 is great if you like tech gimmicks, and are only planning to lease the car. Not for any purists or long term owners

#5. The sound. The exhaust of the 992.2 is a one into two pipe system whereas the 992.1 is 2 into 2.... Listening to the exhaust of the new GTS is underwhelming at best. I think I will keep my 23 4 GTS and get a tune.

I have a 2023 GTS and did JCR Iconel cat delete, titanium exhaust, and M engineering stage 2 tune. Completely transformed the car.

I’ll be upgrading my 992.1 GTS as soon as possible. Superior performance and technology. It’s what Porsche is about. No manual box? No issue. I’d be interested to know how many of the armchair critics actually own a 911, let alone a GTS.

I do and will be keeping my 992.1 GTS aero. The new front end is fugly and im more than happy with the power on tap. If I want more will spend a couple of K on a mild remap.

A current 2024 Carrera S or GTS with a manual will hardly loose any value in the next 5 years. This new 2025 GTS is more like the Turbo, except it has the more aggressive suspension, and the hybrid bits. Maybe the quick engine response can be its saving grace. Either way, I don't think it will hold its value that well compared to other 911s (I do think it will generally hold its value pretty well though, like maybe a 65% 5 year residual value)

Not true at all, you’re assuming that they won’t have manuals coming up but trust me they will release a S and T in manual so why would anyone want to buy the old gen ones

@@roadrash76 maybe in an ideal world, and mostly for boomers. But recently we had a shift in consumer demand. The 911 for as long as I remember was the old man sports car however with all the social media hype and the marketing Porsche has done it all changed and all the new money and younger generation has changed there dream cars from Lambo to Porsche. And let me you tell those people don’t care about the tachometer and turn to start key. Rather they associate a digital dash with luxury and high performance. They just want the newest and fastest thing on the market.

The only thing that bothers me a little is the lack of an analog tachometer the rear seats can be put back in as well so that is no issue for me. When it comes to looks I have at first not liked it but as time goes on I find it better looking. As for the transmission I think the PDK is the best transmission Porsche offers and I do think the manuals should not be in new cars any more. If you want a manual get an older car. Then I also think that the maintenance costs for these hybrids should not be much higher if they are gonna be higher. Now not many people have driven one so the opinions might change. These changes are necessary for Porsche and the 911 as was for example the move on from aircooled to watercooled.

Sounds worse, heavier, loss of analogue and with a cheap start button. All of that for 15k more. For just a bit more power that i can get on my 992.1 gts with a

You forgot going hybrid is a plus in some countries, not only for performance but taxes. Like here in French Polynesia we have no taxes on hybrid cars. The 992.2 GTS will cost around 180.000 USD. The 992.1 GTS cost around 275.000 USD with taxes. I know it is a country specific but it does make a huge difference and hybrid are welcome 🤗 for that matter 💰😊

The external shots of the 992.2 have interior sound dubbed over the exterior sound, which IRL is worse than that of the 992.1. Even worse, some of the interior sound is actually synthesized (means it's artificially generated and comes out of the rear speakers). Engine responsiveness is nice but if that is your need go get a Taycan. IMO it's a real shame for Porsche to launch the car featuring a drag race. Driving a Porsche has never been about drag racing. A manual 992 GT3 has roughly 4 seconds 0-60 yet it is one of the most desirable cars in the current lineup due to its agility and sound. Also let's not get carried away by that Nordschleife time as the 992.2 can only do one hot lap in 7' 16", during which the Varta battery will completely drain (happens only in Sport+). Like an F1 car it then needs a recovery lap/drive before it can do the next hot lap.

Not the highest quality material sorry. If I can ignore the points in transmission category then I cannot ignore seats. You can still have a seats as optional for 0$ (in my country). Only you need to do is choose in your config. Bad research.

I look for feeling, not absolute perf, so anything that adds to the weight is a no-no. I understand Porsche constraints, and I am proud of their choices in the electrification of the 992 gts I like the electric motor powering the (single) turbo, the new weight distribution But I would get the plain vanilla Carrera😂 As I feel it's more sporty than GT Still, the new GTS is far better than I expected

Hate manual so don't care about that because nothing beats PDK. Disagree on the interior going all digital is much better an opens up many more options for the dash. Overall it's a big improvement. Not a fan on the new front or rear on the 2025 but I'm sure it will grow on me.

Sad change, don’t like it at all. A change doesn’t always make it better. They don’t understand their customer as well as I thought and felt pressured to make these changes that actually cheapen a 911. Now I can’t spec a 992.1 😵‍💫

Porsche - just brought all the 2022 to 2024 MANUAL transmissions to PLATINUM status in one swift move to hybrid. I’m sure Porsche tested this thoroughly mechanically speaking but consumers are the real test - the extra power seems to come more from the tried and true “no replacement for displacement” the HYBRID components seem there for current/future emissions compliance - a nod to engineering genius 🫡 I’m gonna try to grab a manual GTS Targa before they are ridiculous - already a $50k premium over MSRP 😮
