it is quite clear that Seider isn't afraid of anyone in this league. he's a young kid with a ton of strength and skill but zero fear of anyone in the league. when he's a physical presence on the ice this team is just different. gotta keep him involved and engaged and this team is just different. As Larkin and Seider go, this team goes at the moment which isn't necessarily a bad thing. On another note I like Soderblom a lot but he needs to get a chip on his shoulder... he's a giant should be a force on the ice... he hasn't been that yet. eventually he's gonna have to put his man pants on and make his presence known physically.

Soderblom is a 21 year old kid with just over a dozen games in the NHL. You're going to have to be patient with him, and maybe even lower your expectations as far as him being a "tough guy" even though that is clearly something the Wings need very very desperately right now. I'm sick of seeing our guys get pushed around too, but I'm willing to bet Yzerman noticed this in our last game against Montreal and that dirty shit head Reaves taking liberties with our guys. Its just another piece of the puzzle we need and I bet he's getting on top of that. I keep hearing people comparing Soderblom to Chara. Despite them being at a similar height, Chara was just an outright mean SOB who was also came up when a lot more enforcers were in the game, and he often got wrecked by actual fighters. He became more scary after guys like Boogaard, and Laraque were long gone. I do think Soderblom will eventually use his size but I doubt he'll become Chara. I want him to score and lay some good hits, but I don't know if he's the answer when it comes to fighting. Remember, usually when Chara fought actual enforcers he often got ragdolled, that height doesn't always make for the best fighting on a pair of skates.

No matter how many people insist that Soderblom needs to get nasty, he's not a nasty player. He won't be that type. Folks need to get used to a 6'8" forward that doesn't fight. We don't need his fists, we need his silky mitts on the ice.

@@muttonmark Kronwall wasn't nasty or a fighter but he could hit you clean and take it in return with no retaliation. Big doesn't mean you have to be mean....just use you're size for checking,protecting the puck,screening,over powering opponent etc and only fight if it's a necessity.

Big Elmo has hand-eye snaps I ain't seen since Homer. Man, he IS a good one. Seider continues to come out of his soph slump and I cannot wait for him to go full-send the rest of this season. LOL Jeez you guys have so much unnecessary hate for Blashill, like you could have done better with our garbage ass team the last few years. He was never meant to lead us to a cup. You don't fire a coach and hire a really good one half way thorough a rebuild. That's why Yzerman waited and gave him the extension. The second coming of Scotty fucking Bowman couldn't have pulled last years team out of the gutter. Blashill fought a losing battle for years for this team damaging his reputation while doing so. Be happy about the present and future instead of bitching about the past like jealous ex-girlfriend. Makes our fan base seem petty. We just beat Tampa for the 2nd time this year and they were visibly pissed off. That's fucking awesome.
