.22 VS FAC .25 - Trajectory, FAC Rifles And Exploding Cans!
Optics Warehouse's Air Gun hunting expert, George James, does a bit of shooting out on the land to demonstrate what happens to pellets at various distances, how a FAC Air Rifle compares to a sub 12 ft lbs air rifle, and what cans do when they are hit with .25 slugs.
If you have any other questions you'd like us to answer leave them below and we'll try and answer them in the next video.

I think the 25cal is the sweet spot for impact, range, noise, choices of ammo, and effective of cross wind. I can tune down to backyard but still use 25 in spring for rating im a fraid of pass through. Although i still like my 22cal but the last 5 pellet rifles were 25cal the last one semiautomatic. I am a lefry so my choices are limited for hunting.

Great vid George made me laugh when you're first target was knocked off 😂 and yes it does go to show we should all practice more to learn about how a pellet or bullet travels. And your final can test was mental so much energy from an FAC air rifle

Never ceases to amaze me that people will pay the earth for an FAC air rifle when a good rimfire can be had for way less than half the price. You need air, you need a calm day with no wind for starters. The ballistics do not stack up when you compare them with hmr or wmr. For close in work I use a sub 12, they are best in gardens and farm yards. The longer range stuff is rimfire territory.

My buddy and myself shoot a golf course, we are fortunate to have rifles from 12ftlb air to .223. If we are sitting, we'll use our fac Impacts more because the .22lr is so prone to bouncing with retained energy half the course would be unsafe to shoot. Horses for courses.

Each to there own jon! .25 FAC is an excellent calibre and combine that with slugs that have a higher BC than ordinary pellets and you will have an efficient long range tool that will keep up with any rimfire. Yes of course you can buy a .22LR or a .17hmr because thats YOUR choice and the same applies to someone wanting the latest FAC pcp.

I recently bought an impact .25 cal in fac and can honestly say it's as accurate as my .22lr right up to at least to 100 yards and with slugs will give slightly better groups at the 100.unless you've tried one of these new fac air rifles you won't believe how good they actually are and without the worry of ricochet with the lr

depends what you considder longer range my .177 will do an inch at 100 years and at 50 will do 1/4 ich groups.... its a high dollor raw bm500 but non of my rim fires will keep up with it up to 100 yards..... its the most acurate small bore gun ive ever shot..

legal to hunt with night scope and silencer much quieter and can adjust fps to keep under 1100fps and tune for ammo. Here in California lead ammo ban for firearms not air rifles. Can fire in backyard in most places. And hunt in the city. Non of that is available in a firearm unless you have a special permit. And so far the most I have in to a rifle is just under $450, gun, scope, bipod, sling, silencer. And as far as preping the springer and a tin of slugs will put more food on the table more often as follow up shots are more common or secondary targets. But a wristrocket and rocks will get the job done as well with endless supply of ammo.

Better not use cans in a field that will be used for hay. I have seen what it does to a cow's stomach and it is not pretty.
