I went carnivore on 2/15/23, 3 weeks in and I don’t have the osteoarthritis pain I suffered with daily for 13 years, I have lost about 5 lbs, I messed up last week for our wedding anniversary and paid the price for nearly 5 days, never again. I also realized I needed to increase my fat content and lower my protein to get into ketosis. I’m a newbie, but love experimenting with my food. I will be 63 in 2 months. I’m excited to see what happens over the next few months.

@@lawdogwales5921 again it depends on what people call 'fast'. These carnivores fast plant products. I think you mean no food fasts. I mean you could get by as long as you have some source to consume - like sunlight, etc. If you run out of non-food ways, then obviously food is what's turned to.

Hello, Sharing my opinion after 2 years on the Carnivora and ketogenic diet (2 years between dietary transition (removing complex carbohydrates (Natural) as I removed the industrialized ones on the first day of the dietary change) 1. Changing foods requires time for the body to begin adapting to new food consumption in this case (Protein and Fat) the body requires time to change its source of energy burning, because when we are eating carbohydrates our body is always in despair total. This can happen on a carnivorous or ketogenic diet, but in an intelligent way. 2. Every Body has a health problem to correct (No one is the same when it comes to health problems, even if they have the same disease) 3. Gaining weight or losing weight can be an easier task for some people, this is due to their body, which may have a problem in a certain organ. (Which was not diagnosed by laboratory tests) due to several factors 4. The beginning of the diet is very delicate, as we want to heal quickly, at least overnight, (We can start the improvement process when we change our diet on the first day, but we will not be cured overnight. It is not possible to cure years of a wrong diet in just a few days or even months or years, it depends on one body to another) Total transition I believe in around 5 years, For those who are only on the carnival diet along with the ketogenic diet, interspersing the two in the same period 5. Observing your evolution is very important, be it in the physical or mental aspect (Mental Energy, Relaxation in your daily activities, patience, emotional control, concentration, among others. Your physical energy, Desire to do some exercises, among others) even if it is moderate, the simple fact of walking, I don't do running exercise, I don't think it's healthy. due to several factors, one of which is that research has shown that most athletes who run and play football or do all the exercises that use the heart more have more heart attacks, perhaps because of the carbohydrates, etc... 6. The most important of all (Follow your Ancestral Food instinct, which was taken from humans) Which ? (When you want to eat more protein, eat, when you want to eat more fat, eat. When you don't want to eat, don't eat) Do you want to gain weight? Exercise with moderate weight I hope I contributed in some way

The only drawback to me on carnivore is the lack of social events and gatherings and the almost impossible ability to find acceptable restaurants for get-togethers, but my health is more important to me and the ease of choices and cooking carnivore overcomes the negatives.

the trick with liver is soaking it in some milk for about 2 hours+ in the fridge before you cook it, then you just rinse it off, sear it and prepare it like normal. i like to sear it on both sides and slow cook it and when you remove the bitterness using the milk it leaves it tasting really pleasant, almost sweet. i probably couldn't eat it otherwise.

I am just starting out on carnivore and I already feel great! I haven't had any sugar cravings whatsoever, but just as a second layer of "willpower" I've been working on developing what I call an "ick radar." Basically just a mantra I repeat in my mind of "ick, ick, ick," any time I look at something I used to eat that I KNOW makes me feel horrible.

In my experience, the main reason people quit carnivore is that they don't eat enough fat. They go out and get a bunch of lean meats like chicken and lean cuts of cheap beef. Not having enough fat makes it much more difficult to get over your carb cravings and it makes it so that you never adapt to eating just meat. You get tired of eating meat because your body isn't getting what it wants, which is fat.

Lily you are the entire reason I started carnivore, your carefree attitude & upbeat silliness is *JUST* what i need more of & as i was watching your KZbin shorts, something spoke to me & I just *knew* carnivore *is* for me..... Now its been tough at 1st (I'm only on like day 3 or 4) & i really wanted to use butter to quell my cravings... That *didn't work* so well, I ate too much too fast & without a gallbladder I'm not sure if I'll never be able to eat it..... My heart was racing faster then I've ever felt it for about 30mi.... I had major bathroom issues suddenly, then after the ambulance was pulling into my driveway ( i thought i was having a heart attack) finally i vomited & then my heart rate started to calm a bit & I could calm myself better, but i still had to embarrassingly tell the paramedics, that i ate around 3 sticks of butter that day & it was probably that, if *ANYONE* knows of butter making your heart race please share the info...... I been researching carnivore for about a week & many hours of KZbin b4 finally starting & i guess i didn't consider butter problems 😂😜🤪 oh well, I'm still eating only meat & hoping the hard days will go fast.🤞 ..

I find it so interesting that when girls go carnivore, they lose the "modern" chubby/tired look and the depressed outlook on life, and instead they slowly start looking like retro beauties of like the 40s, because of better skin, and hair, and generally having more energy.
@extropiantranshuman
@extropiantranshuman Жыл бұрын
I really don't like to comment on looks - positive or negative, but to me the older female here has a tired look with the bags under her eyes as well as the frizzy hair at the bottom, but I'm not judging her being carnivore on it. I'd say I've seen this with vegans too - the frizzy hair (unless they weren't actually vegan). Their skin might be shiny, but not really gloywy. Maybe that's the retro beauty look you talk about? It could be the lighting or something, but that's my observation. I don't want to be a downer - as up top her hair looks ok and the person on the left feels more connected with finding her calling and place - knowing where it's at. It's just my observation and could be wrong. Maybe you can explain what this 'chubby' look you talk about it? I mean life just gets to you and it's easy to look tired as one ages.

@@extropiantranshuman I noticed her hair, too, and my first thoughts were simply that 1) on one meal a day for all those years, she may not have been eating adequate protein to both maintain muscle AND skin, hair and perhaps nails. Or enough fats for abundant hormones. Plus if her focus is the muscle meats, and she doesn't make broths with the bones and esp "meaty bones," she may not be supplementing for the natural loss of collagen either. In addition, she may make her own soap, or use a very clean, basic natural soap like Castile or Ivory, which can be fairly drying. And perhaps that is even what she washes her hair with. And lastly, it's unlikely she uses any products on her hair, inc products to protect her hair from sun damage. So that might partly explain why her hair looks a little dry and split, as well. And as for how her face is aging, again, she may not be eating enough collagen, protein or fats for maximum hormone production. Plus again, if she's not using any products, incl sunscreen, yet spends a good amount of time outside doing sports or working in her garden, that will be reflected on her face, as will any stress. (Perhaps she's had a stressful life for any number of reasons!) Still, compared to how my mother looked at 55, before her facelift, this lovely woman looks much younger! And my mother used lots of products! And my aunt, who uses no anti-aging products but spends a lot of time outdoors, is much, much more wrinkled than this woman. So even if she looks her age - and I think she looks like she could be anywhere from 45 to 55 - for someone living as natural a life as she does, she looks pretty good, IMHO! But bottom line, one doesn't choose carnivore for its ability to keep one younger LOOKING. You choose it for how it's going to make you FEEL, as someone else already pointed out. And this woman's whole demeanor is positive, uplifting, and enthusiastic, which in itself speaks to the truth that she feels great! And as we all know, we "ARE only as old as we feel!"😂🥰🤗

What I’ve learned about liver: A true carnivore only needs a trace amount of vitamin C as compared to someone on SAD. The recommended amount of daily Vitamin C is based on a high carb diet. The toxins and oxalates in plants makes it very hard for people to absorb C. Hence, the much higher dose recommendation. Zero / low carb people only need a trace amount (nanograms vice milligrams) . So anyway.. trace amounts if vit C are found in regular meat. Also a can if sardines is loaded with Vit C

Liver is not new. I am 67 and I was presented with liver as a child. My parents were not the type to force us. But most kids do not take to liver right off the bat. We were told, just one bite and you can be done. I've heard it takes about 13 tries before developing a 'taste' for something. Might be more for liver. Can't remember exactly, but I do know, by my teenage years I readily ate a plate full of liver and onions with gravy over mashed potatoes. I think we got it once or twice a month because it was good for us. Once married, in never cooked liver because my husband would not even come inside if liver was cooking! I lost my taste for it to some extent. I think grinding it into hamburger is brilliant.

Wonderful Lily! Any way you can convince Charlene Anderson who is a 20 plus year carnivore veteran to an interview?

I mean it's a little underwhelming after this interview - maybe a 40 year is more impressive.

but aren't eggs and meat processed? By raising chickens and other animals and butchering their parts and then cooking?

soak the liver in milk for 1 hour before cooking. Sauté onion and apple, then right at the end add the liver. Cook 1 min/side.

22 year carni vet, but can always learn more. My carbs was huge. I was staring mid using up foods, but just one day just threw everything away, and put the rest aside to give to someone else. Only on it about a week or two, and I'm straight on a 99% time with the odd bit of milk in a coffee. So the bit of milk and odd coffee are so diet sustainable cheats. Just trying to cut these out. I'm not gonna bother with many if any organs.

I keep luver frozen in 2-3 pieces stacked on top of each other. I thaw it SLIGHTLY and slice it very small pieces and mix it in my hamburger meat 2 times weekly. Cant taste it, feel it or smell it. Sometimes i cook chicken livers and eat them alone. Love them.

These electrolytes has stevia and flavors... When it says flavors without details it often includes unhealthy items and even sugar. Instead, just get some salt, ionic magnesium, ionic potassium, and mist with water.

Lilly, how does elements have no artificial ingredients if it have flavors in it? Flavor don't just grow on trees or in our case roam the lands...

I am reflectively new to carnivore (3months) I have noticed that my sugar levels are higher now than when I first started. Is there a sugar dumping stage that happens to new carnivores? Thanks!

I feel anyone on a carnivore diet look so strong and more dense than someone who ate high carbs and vegan diet. I'm a bit worried about a carnivore diet is the high cholesterol and having gout in the long term.

Back in the day before they had medications to give diabetics the advice was don't eat Carbs or you will die. There wasn't a way to bring down sugar levels so carbs would kill you quickly after eating them. I have a Diabetic cook book from the early 1900's and it literally is a Keto, carnivore cook book. With Almond flour and Everything else we consider "New" information. Folks this is not new! It's as old as America itself!
