I should have mentioned sometimes people mistake hunger for thirst! If you believe you are eating enough food (and protein) throughout the day but still find yourself hungry, you could actually be dehydrated. Also, many people have mentioned that they wake up in the middle of the night to use the restroom, despite deliberately avoiding water for several hours before bed. To address this, consider increasing your salt intake or incorporating more electrolytes throughout the day. Your body may require additional electrolytes to improve cellular hydration and optimize water absorption.

FYI a TDS meter will only measure particles detected by electrical conductivity. You can have a zero TDS reading and still have high levels of PFAS Pesticides and other toxic chemicals, pharmaceuticals, petroleum products, flouride, lead, bacteria and cryptosporidum, and many other things. You need to send a sample of your zero water to a lab to see if it actually is removing all the contaminants. Or you can get a water distiller.

I was drinking plenty of electrolytes but wasn't getting hydrated. Then I started drinking electrolytes with sugar and felt fine (I'm a zero sugar guy usually. Like 98 percent carnivore). There is apparently a sodium/glucose transport in the small intestine that if you have no glucose available to help transport the sodium, the soduim won't be absorbed and the water will not follow it. It may not be a problem if you eat enough carbs, but I had a total zero carb week during a hot, sweaty week, and I was fatigued and headachey the whole week. Just read the last report (2023) put out by my local water company. While not perfect, there are areas that could be improved. An obvious example is lead in the water - which comes from old supply lines. This is an area that is being tackled by our local government by having all supply lines into homes replaced. (Needless to say, getting around is even harder this year than when just dealing with road construction. 😵💫) Using a reverse osmosis system to purify drinking water is still a good idea, since what is allowed can still cause problems for various classes of people such as those with immune problems, cancer or the elderly. I found it interesting that the water report I read gave that information and didn’t just try to pat itself on the back for their “good numbers”. Perhaps some of those “in charge” do care.

Boiling can actually concentrate the contaminants. Distillation is when you evaporate water trying to collect the more pure (but lacking minerals). The boiled water remaining will have more contaminants left in it than before you started. Boiling is really only useful for killing bacteria and pathogens. I've had my berkey for several years now, but haven't been using it since i read about some controversial stuff with the company. I'm lucky that my natural foods market has the reverse osmosis water for sale (where I re-fill glass bottles). I didn't want to toss my 'spensive berkey (plus, I like having more than one system for water). So I got some not-berkey filters, that supposedly filter the fluoride (that fit in the berkey). Haven't installed them yet though. It's sad (and so wrong) that it's incredibly challenging just to get truly clean water. If our world can't even provide such a basic and critical thing, we kinda need to re-do the program (across the board).

*following comment made in love and adoration of you and your good works. 'Half your body weight in ounces a day' hey? Well, either your instruction has redundant information with an extremely high and dangerous water intake suggestion (half body weight doesn't require a metric and would equate to drowning ones self) or we have have a mixed suggestion as different regions use different weight metrics (I in Australia, would be drinking less than half of your supposed suggestion if I were measuring my weight with Kgs). Fun to be picky i guess

Only drink our well water. We have had it tested several times over the last 20 years. Our water is very clean. But maybe we should test it again, it's been at least 4 years. 🤔

I do the powders BUT due to my lifestyle - I had to head to a pill. I HAVE to have these electrolytes but lugging them around isn't optimal for me. So at least I can take the pills w/ my vitamins. And have been using zero water for years.

Lillie, Lillie, Lillie. Your heart is in the right place but your head isn’t. Nothing on this planet is 100% anything. If there was, you wouldn’t have a job!😂

My Dr says Im dehydrated due to my kidneys being dry from my tests. She told me to drink 1/2 my body weight but use electrolytes. I buy & drink reverse osmosis water & add pink salt to it. I guess its not wotking fast enough. She recently ordered a prescription sodium pill for me which I refuse.

Milk is a good fluid to drink instead of water. It also has some electrolytes

Way superior to water. Just have to find a good source. Most homogenized milk has been "killed" by pasteurization and stripped of most of its cream, if it had any to begin with.

Those LMNY flavored packets have citric acid high in the ingredients list along with some other unhealthy ingredients. Oh well, I guess I am more cautious and cleaner than many of these "Knowledgeable Influencers".

My home has a RainSoft water treatment system. Does anyone know if that makes my tap water safer? (Specifically RainSoft TC-M Conditioner Series Water Treatment System)
