Without you the world wouldnt be the world. Remember that. This world could never have been what is has been without you. You and your life are an addition to the memories of joy, sadness and lessons to be learned in this life. To have had such an impact is an honor we all have. We just dont realize it until its too late. Make sure you tell them you love them and that all your sacrifices were worth it to see them become who they are now. To see the fruits of all of those long nights at work, all the days away from home, all the stress felt over bills and food money was all worth it.

Heard this at the end of a movie back in 2012, my oldest was a few months old and he stopped and listened to the entire song. I immediately downloaded it to my phone(which ya can’t now in the us) I played this song whenever he was sleepy, upset, or sick. Then 2 years later I had his brother and he loved this song. We used to have to travel a lot for my husbands work and I’d have to drive at night by myself with a baby and a 2 year old I kept this sucker on repeat the whole 6/7/8/9 hr drives. My youngest is autistic and this song has gotten us though so much. Like right now he’s sick and he cokes lays next to me and asks for his song. We can only listen to it on KZbin and this video is his favorite. This song is his comfort song through hard times, overstimulation, thunder storms, sick times, and so much more. Willie covering this song created a major life changer for my family. 🤍

I have 3 kids, ages 12, 10 and 8, and your comment hit me in the chest like a wrecking ball... I cannot begin to imagine that pain, and how it will never leave you, and it halts my breath to think of your words about your son... no parent should ever have to bury their child... I usually don't comment online, but I am so incredibly sorry for what you've lost and what you will have to carry with you... I cannot imagine any scenario where you can find a fraction of peace, and that is truly tragic. Yours is the definition of heartbreak...

Call me by my name. Speak to me like you've always did. Don't use a different tone ... Don't take that look; solemn or sad. Continue to laugh at that which made us laugh together. Pray, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be pronounced at home, As it always was, Without pomposity or gloom. Life is still the same, It is what it always was The string has not been cut. Why should I be away from your thoughts? Just because I am away from your sight? I am not far, just on the other side of the road.. You see, every thing is fine ... Wipe your tears and cry no more. I'm a Coldplay fan and I'm certainly no hater. I checked the comments to this video and I can't find any haters. Coldplay's fanbase gets a reputation of being only a bunch of teenage girls that can't appreciate anything other than what they're used to, and I don't think that accurately reflects how Coldplay fans really are. As a Coldplay fan I can confirm Willie did this good justice.

When Willie Nelson picks a song to cover he has impeccable taste! He knows the songs that will fit his voice like a glove. The original artists must have mixed emotions though - on one hand so honored to have a legend pick their work to perform, and on the other hand feeling like they just a child, because that song now belongs to Willie!
@tarrahyoung42Ай бұрын
I absolutely agree! What an honor for Willie to pick a piece of someone’s art that he wanted to give it a go himself!!! I think it’s incredible. Artists and musicians have their own love language. Covering a song is a way of saying that I love your work. I don’t believe there’s a derogatory emotion in that at all. It’s a huge compliment to the original artists.

In that inimitable voice always smelling of nicotine and broken heart, Willie Nelson demonstrates the art of holding a song before releasing it, like a fish you catch and slowly let go. His version of The Scientist grows like a sad bubble in your throat until the pain becomes a escape hatch from the past. Drink this song like the last drop of whiskey and let memories of a woman you have loved and lost wash over you.

Yes, I thought it was amazing. And I really love this cover because I appreciate hearing Willie sing it; an older man, without a perfect voice. You can listen to it by Cold Play, but they are young and sing it too perfectly.... Willie just gives it so much more soul. In fact, If you go to Amazon or here on KZbin, and look up his channel, you'll see that he's done many covers such as this. I had no idea as I'm not really a strong country fan. But I did recognize greatness enough to purchase this track...;)

I fell I love withWillie in 1961 while recovering from Scarlett and rheumatic fever and on the weekend he would play at panther Hall, Fort Worth and yes Chris probably is very honored with Willies cover. Willie I am 63 survived a liver transplant and still will dream about hugging you. Sometimes when’s it really hard, I lays in my bed and get my head rite and crawl in your arms and you sing to me. I will always fantasize about this, not in a sexual way, He just has always been there for me. I own your first album and once in a blue moon I allow it to be spun, it has all your first and how I cherish this. I hope you are feeling good. What an amazing honor for Chris & the rest of Coldplay to have a legend cover their song. Slightly reminds me of the brilliance of Johnny Cash's NIN 'Hurt' cover in that it takes the most beautiful aspect of the song and makes it their own by adding a unique brilliance to it. Beautiful and timeless.

I always go back to the start at the beginning if I can't find my way out of some funks that I've been in and I always say I have to go back to the beginning and try again to see why im feeling this way. ..it works like he says it's amazing and it tears your heart out when he sings.
