welcome back to the channel in todays video we help Ben out with his mustang again. He has been talking about cutting off the drip rails for a long time and just doesn't have the time to do it himself. We love fabrication work and offered to help, they turned out very nice and a lot better then what we where expecting. We cut the drip rails off using a Milwaukee angle grinder and welded them back up using our Millermatic 211.

Defiantly not a bad idea because it turned out great. They really didn't do much for drip protection and with the vent window not really needed because you just open the window. You and your brother would make a great freaking team to pump out crazy one off builds. Never stop dreaming or you'll be stuck in the past. Now you have proof you can do this to other cars 😁 good choice on the music, liked the industrial feel it gave. I did recommended the rail delete 😎 going to do this on my 73 4 door hornet for the exact reason said and seen. Rust gutter and it get up into the roof to cause worse problems. No door electronics to worry about and plan to do other modifications that I also suggested but may of been a little much for the style hes aiming for. Flush mount front and rear would need some work done because the trim hides alot of gap. If you are having to replace a roof or window frame its worth exploring. Customization or modification can't die out and we already lost a generation of coach builders that knew their way around an english wheel.

The Drip Channel delete sure looks good, but if it was done to prevent rust, you have guaranteed that it will rust now, from the burnt inside, unless you can get in there, clean it out and apply some rust preventative.

I have seen drip rails removed in sections and while your job turned out fine it is probably a good idea to it in two parts. They cut about 4-inch sections of drip rail leaving 4-inch sections intact. Weld up the newly created gaps then do the same for the remaining sections of drip rail.

Drip rail delete no doubt makes for a clean look, doubtful this will ever be driven in the rain. Yuri you and Nate produced an excellent result, it always amazes me to watch you lay down those perfect welds. Yuri, would you Nate and Ben consider building that C10 shorty you brought to the yard together? The possibilities are endless, bags, frame ,LS, ect. The colab would help all involved, just a thought. Peace.

Yeah big mistake, they are there to take the rain away from the occupants of the car when exiting the car when it's raining, don't get me wrong it looks good but it reminds me of my young mechanic neighbor a few years ago, he had a skoda fabia and he decided to move the air intake to behind one of the fog light blanks as if it would get more unrestricted air, the only problem came when he drove through a low area that was flooded due to the heavy rain we had and it instantly fucked his engine due to sucking all that water in. Cars designs are there for a reason, you need to think of the reason that the drip tray exists and then decide to change it, before you come back and mention the modern look, modern cars have roof rail channels and the roofs aren't domed as much as the old Mustang. Anyway, great upload and good luck with the project.

I would suggest putting a disclaimer on some videos where you have this type of welding, reason is that it could cause epileptic fits when seeing that many flashes, I am not affected, but some of your viewers could be, just sayin, trying to look out for your interests. Great content, great music and the welding is superb, Yuri and Nate, you guys are a great team!

At 9:57 is a perfect example of how weak that flat sheet metal he has in that engine bay is. Had it been bead rolled, that noise would not have happened because it makes the metal much stronger. It is going to sound like a botls in a tin can going down the road. That is not taking account into the other, lets say errors of judgement to be kind that have been made.
