Great idea Mike. I have one of those totes as well, I left the tank in it but cut the top out of it and use it as a garbage bin. I put caster wheels under it and just push it down my paved driveway to the road for pick up, when truck is gone I just wheel it back to the house so it is out of sight and out of the way. Works for me.

In Maine, we cut the tops off the plastic tanks and leave the tanks in the steel cage.... keeps the dirt, wood chips, etc. in the tank.... not all over your truck and driveways ! Food for thought. Love your channel !

Just started watching your videos. I have been using those totes for about five years now for firewood. I get them from a friend who manufacturers bark mulch so the totes I get have leftover mulch dye in them. I just stick my fork from the tractor in the top hole to pull the bladder out so I don't get dye all over everything. I also cut the bladder with a sawblade on the stihl fs250 works great!! I cut the door out with a sawsall and put alittle angle on it so you don't rip every shirt you own when your pulling wood out of it. I like the ones with a plastic bottom better they don't sink in the ground as bad. Make sure you put them on a pallet or they may freeze in the ground. Get yourself a supersplit log splitter and you can fill a basket in 20-30 minutes. My 2009 MF 1540 generally has no problems lifting the baskets full of wood except when full of wet white oak. Have fun look foward to watching our new videos!

I love IBC totes, smart looking if you have a nice house etc (i hate my property looking like a junk yard or pickers paradise) easy to move with a pickup and small front loader. I use plastic inner for water storage the metal cages i use as compost bins - I put plywood on three sides (drill holes and cable tie them on) top i have hinge and a lid, compost material seems to like it and does well. I have loads of ideas for them but can never get enough of them cheap enough....GJ Morgans, showing the world how to use these useful industrial items for home use.

That would make a nice safety bucket for working off the tractor up high for trimming trees. Strap it down, or put a come along wrap around it at the base, and behind the forks.

I was going to say, these make great man lift buckets cut the same way you did yours. Zip tie an extra tool pouch to the rails to hold items your going to need for the task at hand. I use one of those wider yellow ratchet straps cut down and strap it directly on the fork frame on the kubota L3800. Also use mine for firewood to store and move around in the barn. Pallet jack makes things better if you have the floor for it. Great videos Mike. Very much enjoy your channel. Hello from NE Ohio.

Those totes are regularly re-purposed.....I used one for a septic system at my hunt cabin....Installed about 7 years ago and still working. I get them free from a precast concrete company, they get their (veg based) form oil in them....A bit waxy, but came out clean with a pressure washer.

I guess us wood freaks are the same, I'm east of you in NW Jersey, Saturday morning coffee on the deck, I looked into the woods and they whispered to me to get the machine & saw, dropped a sick but nice cherry and a small half dead ash, the yield was close to a cord. I'm going for hopefully 8 cords of rounds before the snow sets in, I made a nice level landing and I cant wait to start splitting, I usually start just after new years when cabin fever starts. I'm going to try to hand split as much as I can, if I come across a problem round I'll save it in a separate pile then do a hydro day. I'm mulling over the idea to build 2x4 hoop sides on pallets to use the machine to bring the splits up to the shed when its time to reload it, don't know if its worth the effort though, I only get a one time use out of the pallets, usually they get destroyed after sitting on the ground 1-2 years.

I bought 6 of these for $65 each. I really need 6 more to dry wood in. The best part is that in the winter, I just drop the container right in my garage, one at a time. If you're going to do something similar, just make sure you store them on dry ground. They will freeze to the ground and you'll destroy them trying to dig them out of frost/mud. If you cut the plastic tote in a diagonal direction, the half of the tote can be used for keeping the wood dry. Look it up online. Looks kinda stupid, but works great.

It would be a good idea if a firewood company delivered a stacked cord in its own cradle. Then that cradle would stay there until they use that cord. It would be one way to insure customers would come back to you. It also would eliminate the big mess of a wood pile being dumped with bark and all. Kind of like a hook lift system you see with some 1-ton trucks but be a firewood cradle. Charge a small fee for the cradle rental. Just a thought when I was in the firewood business for a summer.

ok-been waiting on ya to get this totes. so my question to u is--will u try the 24 to see if it will lift the tote of firewood? how heavy do u think they are gonna be when full, half full? i know different wood, different weight. just trying to figure out if my 2520 mcut is gonna be able to lift one full, or only half full. if my tractor won't lift a full one, then its no use to me to buy a tote to do what u just did. u need to use the 24 to try because the majority of ur followers, i highly doubt have such a large tractor as ur 57 is, so.........thanks to ya -if u try the 24 on them. the 37 is too large also.
