You can hear the despair in Turtle's voice about 1/3rd of the way through. There's to many new perks that are just crap and that makes it so hard to get any usable roll. That one that heals rad damage is the worst, will most PA users being Bloodied.

It's kind of the same way for full health builds since launch though, everything we got encouraged us to fill up on rads and run around at low health, it wasn't fun at all and most legendary armors were useless besides weapon and ammo weight reductions. Now there is at least a chance to get something for either build.

The only perks that I'm focused on is weapon and Ammo Reduction, And if you didn't know guys the Ammo perk Reduction also reduced Battery and fusions weight

Yep, literally the only downside to PA before was not having the ability to reduce carry weight of items (or buff carry weight). I only roll for the weight reduction, couldn't care less what the other perks are.

I mean it's actually a decent perk in some cases, helps with fighting ads a lot. Just sucks that it has such a low chance to proc. I can see it being broken with the right build though.

It's when your power armor has ×5 this effect + chestplate mod (50% reverced damage when melee hit you ) + power armor from shelter 94 ( toxic effect ) Very specific but it will works ( ennemis has no fire résistance, it's just a ignore def damage, cryogenic and poison it's depends the ennemies. But I hope one day we can choose the prefix etc ... we want.

@@jakebakethatcake7156 Just because you haven't done the math, doesn't mean it's not decent. Sentinels, ammo and weapon weight reduction are the only other good perks in that pool. But IMO they aren't necessary as we have been fine without them since launch, literally always had 1000s of rounds for 5+ heavy weapons on my PA build, never had an issue with staying alive, effects haven't added more utility or damage to my build. The extra damage is actually super useful when built right, especially against swarms of ghouls, molemen (+ molerats) and mirelurks/bugs. I basically AFKed in a daily op whilst the enemies killed themselves over and over, still got elder without dying, not that that's a hard thing.

@@mykeh3155 It's useless. Using it for role playing yeah. Utility wise no. The third perk is useless for the most part with armor. Just quality of life. Standing still in daily ops and relying on a 5% chance for 100 damage to be applied from MELEE attackers only. It'd do nothing to ranged attackers. It's not decent. 50 vats hit chance is decent. It may save you occasionally but it will not effect the majority of your gameplay.

I dunno, I have an abundance of cores, no where near enough modules. You get 1-5 cores per event, and at best 1.8 modules for the same event.

🐢, you were on s server with bad rng. Every server gives priority to certain effects or legendary mods. You'll get an idea of the rng character of a server after 10-20 roles or drops. Leave a bad one, find a good one. ( Use your army, general 🐢)

As it is, a majority of folks bought it as a full price fully released game. Granted it's an online multiplayer but it's no MMO and Beth want to monetize it as such.

Should be able pick the 1st star... and let the other 2 (or 3 for four star) be random. Crafting collecting legendary armor is just a massive pain... I am still using CSA... so much more efficient.

If we got them at the same speed as modules, we would spend hours farming them just like we do with ops for modules.

I done that with a dragon as well. Had a zealots explosive so that will do. Now I’m trying to get a bloodied quad explosive railway rifle or even a bloodied quad 2 shot. In my dreams lol. Got better chance of winning lottery 😞

That regen rads while not in combat is just bad, it’s like they put it in as a trap. It might be ok in a nuke zone, but really there’s more than enough rad away.

If you are a high health player 1 level of What Rads is superior. But curious if maxed What Rads and all 5 armors with rad regen will make you able to survive in a nuke zone without a radiation suit, radaway, and wearing regular armor.

Most of the new ones are trap perks, but at least the radiation healing has the same effect as a legendary perk, so all my full health characters got one slot back

I've found that crafting 1 or 2 pieces then server hopping has been (for me) the best way to get decent-ish rolls. I got a full set of uny SS armor in a day that way, could have been just lucky but it convinced me.

@@markvalencia6185 yes though I'm not entirely sure why. Have you ever noticed when dumping a bunch of script you end up getting similar rolls 4 or 5 times? I wanted to avoid that so I server hopped and each time I rolled it was a completely different set of perks.

Not going to lie, it’s super rough on power armor in this systems I have gotten better rolls from drops then the system. Like my t45 which is from pick ups only mind you, is almost better then what I was able to get from the re-roll system.

there was some interesting mods on f4 with legendary crafting , from "scraping legendaries to get specific effects we want" to "moving effects to other weapons" or simply paying a lot to get desired effect , and they just went with "pay not cheap amount and get random garbage"

Wow that was scary LOL. I haven't even started my legendary PA crafting yet and already feel discouraged. Anyway, I will aim towards weapon weight reduction instead of the typical 1st star and 2nd star orientation as power armors are pretty solid as they already are.

This just goes to show that they need to allow you to craft each star individually. So you can get your unyielding, vanguard or whatever affix, then move to the next star. Can keep the cost to make it hard, but needs to roll individually.

Since it costs so much to do a 3* roll, my plan is to just do 1* rolls on my Excavator's set until they're all Overeater's. Then, for each piece, make an extra and do 3* rerolls on it until it hits Overeater's - then swap out the 1* for it. More than likely I'll get bored long before I have a full set of 3* Overeater's Excavator's

Bethesda ruined the loot pool with so much trash making the game even more of an unrewarding slog plus the crazy expensive crafting amounts are totally unbalanced. I have zero interest in legendary crafting right now when it should have been fun and rewarding 😔

On the bright side, the Legendary drop rate seems to have increased. Yesterday from two Scorched Earth’s I got a SS UY, AP refresh, +1Int., and a Excavator Overeaters with +25 Poison Resistance.

I've got the slow rad regeneration out of battle on my regular armor with unyielding so I carry a lot of toxic water and spoiled food to keep my rads up and ocassionally take that piece off in between.

I took a look at the list of legendary armour effects and decided too roll for a full set of one star overeaters on the excavator. With 2 characters I already have a set just missing a left arm. I recommend trying this out since they purposely diluted the 2nd and 3rd star pool.

The new fortune teller machine can be used 2x increasing luck by +4 however it seems like it creates some kind of "power roll" I have gotten 10 perfectly preserved pies and a many weapon weight reduction pa pieces from SBQ, all different sets but still good to get something besides the bottom barrel armors and weapons

An interesting test might be to buy each of a 1 , 2 and a 3 star leggo from the purveyor, then see how many times you have to craft for the same rolls on a similar blank item. Then do the same in reverse (roll crafted leggos then buy from purveyor to see which way is potentially better. Sadly I don't think anyone could acquire enough resources to do that. Based on this video though I think I'll just keep buying random weapons and armour from the purveyor/other players vendors until perhaps they change the system (I won't hold my breath).

Reminds me of my luck trying to roll my dream 50 cal. Stuck with an explosive mutants with slower breaking (love it for now) but want explosive vampire and aristocrats before I move to PA. I did add a one star each to my excavator but got crazy lucky with basically take less damage from version of each enemy type except bugs. I’m ok with that for now! Going to be quite a grind but I like crafting so much better than luck of the drop or Murmph.

What do you consider a good roll? Before I had no legendary effects! I’ve only found a couple that where complete rubbish for bloodied builds. Radiation regeneration and auto stim. Auto stim is broken when using with a bloodied build it will use all your stim packs

Thus far I have a very similar experience. I have only gotten weapon weight reduction twice and one of those was on a slowly regenerate radiation damage roll, making it useless for me. In fact my luck has been so poor I have learned to only roll legendary on newly crafted armor pieces so that I don’t have to re-roll (and nullify scrip value). Good luck!

I have only about 2 dozen legendary crafts so far , but I haven't had any just absolute trash rolls . A legendary set of Excavator (decent not great rolls) , Hellcat set (better rolls , but a visual bug all pieces are in my inventory off the frame even though I put it in my stash box) , a Quad 50cal , and last but not least my best roll Bloodied Explosive Vats crit refill 15% faster. Better luck next time Turtle.

My first try at legendary crafting I started with The Fixer. My 3rd roll I got a Juggernauts, ffr, 1A. Im bloodied build but might use one of my slots for a full health build now.

My hope is that the current system is for testing the core legendary crafting feature, then we'll get individual trait rerolling when Tales From the Stars releases with 4-Star legendaries at the end of the year.

Turtle, I wouldn't recommend rolling any more armor until 4 stars come. Power armor drops a PLENTY in loot and quest rewards. I have a full excavator set from rewards ALONE! Instead, I recommend rolling the weapon of your choice to try and get that god roll. I am only rerolling the one plasma I crafted for this update. Stockpiling for 4 stars is another option many are taking.

Dude, I'm using multiple puzzle-type PowerArmor sets (T51b,X01,Excavator, etc. parts), because it is too costly to get proper legendary components on one and the same armor type. Put a proper skin on it (I use the old but good Patriot Prime or Liberty Prime) and it is good, although not able to use the set-based legendary perks. Yet I have, as example, randomly received through events, as well as crafting, a x5 Assassin + x3 sentinel's (with many nice other effects), without loosing hounderds of legendary modules.

I don't think a jet pack should be added for excavator pa as it is essentially a piece of heavy equipment like a back hoe but I would love to see a flood lights mod for it to give it the best light in game and really illuminate caves and mines, many other PA have light mods including a bright mod but the one it would make the most sense on doesn't have one.

It's been a while since I've played but I was a full health build and Vanguard's was one of the best. Turtle got several of these and called them rubbish. I know Turtle is Bloodied and so there is specifically Unyielding that he'd be looking for. Troubleshooters adds a nice benefit for certain situations. Unless things have changed, everything looks like rubbish because Unyielding/Bloodied is so OP.

Non power armor user here...Saving to craft weapons only. Already have full sets of SS ultralight buttress armor. Unyielding, troubleshooting, mutant slayer, zealot slayer and ghoul slayer. Strangely, I been getting lots of PA legendary parts as event rewards.

I have taken 11 cracks so far ag my t-65 set and right now im sitting on 2 Overeaters and 3 mutants. Im pretty pleased and I have an extra set that I try rerolls on until I get overeaters total. Im using the other set for rerolls because as I learned my other pieces being mutants aint bad and I sont wanna go backwards in what I got. Also be warry of that radiation gain in the third slot cause it just wrecks a piece if you use any low health. Thanks as always for vid, I got pretty lucky on mine... When u said mutants is rubbish btw its really not that bad, its not Overeaters but it a a lot better than hunters and not bad as a go between till Overeaters. I was lucky n got 2 Overeaters. My first two rolls were both nocturnal. I took that as a sign to wait until 4 stars drop and just save everything until then lol. I still got my god roll secret service set and without unyielding I’m just not motivated to try for a power armor set.

I did over 100 cores trying for a decent last shot missile launcher before the hot fix, with not a single roll of it except the Nocturnal that dropped from a legendary that made me aware you could roll it. Stopped in case they fixed that in the hot fix. Did another 100+ on broadsiders looking for a decent two-shot for my fifth build to farm Uplink ops (thanks for that, btw, good advice), not a single two-shot. Did 20-25 on fixers, nothing great, best was a two-shot +50% vats hit. Decent, but not great since Mutants is just as good now. 20-25 on PA pieces, nothing but auto-stim and hunters and such.

Ya this is why I have not really been doing anything with this. Im keeping all the cores and mods till I get too many to count or they at least let us spend extra cores to lock a slot. Like if I go to lock in over eater and reroll a 3 rather then it costing 5 it would be 6 and no matter how much you reroll over eater will stay till you unlock it.

Yeah...I rolled for Secret Service armor, as I have recently made a bloodied build. I used 105 modules for 105 pieces, and I didn't even get a full set of unyielding 😐. 2 of the 4 unyielding pieces have useless 2nd/3rd star as well

Not sure what to roll on my armor. Maybe vanguard cuz I’m full health but idk. Also rerolled my plasma caster yesterday and got AA, VATS50+ and 90% reduced weight. So I was happy about that!

so we should expect about 200 cores per set with about half of what we want on it-- but we save mats How much time did it take to farm those 200 cores? I feel like that's the big question. We need a core/hr ratio so we can figure out how much time average we should expect to spend PER set.

I looted a Chameleon with ammo weight reduction and something else last night. Still working on Fixer's first. What mods do you have on your Excavators other than JetPack?

I just went for ammo, weapons, and food reductions in my T-65, I got them so am happy with them for now. ☺️ Yay!

So far I’ve had better luck with drops from Events and enemies. I’ve had a few T-65 and T-60 pieces drop with Aristocrats and Overeaters. Far better than anything I’ve crafted myself so far, which is pretty disappointing and worrisome.

Their PR team should do damage control with update patch notes. Like explain each change and new addition they add by including a short “why” statement to each individual note.

I've been using power armor since launch & I'm used to not having a legendary effect on it. So I just rolled ap refresh on 5 pieces & I'm gonna wait until 4 star legendaries come out before I start rolling for a bolstering ap refresh set that I want.

Dude, i rolled my Excavator right away. I got 3 Bolstering And 2 Troubles (WWR). I felt So high. I took just a few rolls and i can feel the difference with the Bolstering too. Dont let that get you down. I switch to Tesla coils and suppressor right away.

I had much success getting good The Fixer rolls but PA is looking rough. With all those lackluster effects, getting a solid legendary PA will be a grind fest.

I've resorted to just having a frame for each set of PA in my stash in case I get a good legendary drop. Can't decide if I want to invest in t65 or hellcat either...

The probability of drawing the effect that weapons weigh less is 1/15. The expected value is 60 with 4 pieces. With 40 draws you should have had only 3 successful draws, so you were actually lucky to draw 4. What's even more amazing is that you drew 2x Troubleshotters with weapon weight, even though that was extremely unlikely (1/255 per part). I wonder why you seem so disappointed, even though you were pretty lucky.

What i'm able to craft or buy i don't re-roll. I just roll it once and then script it if its rubbish. Its a resource hog, but also a way to have some kind of return in script.

I've got three pieces of overeaters on my main, it's pretty good. Question though Mr Turtle, why don't you collect a rainbow set? Assassins. Hunters, zealots, trouble shooters and mutant slayers? Then you have 55% damage reduction against everything except bugs!

After watching this i wonder if just going to the purveyer would be better for PA. Also I think that Overeaters is super rare I crafted 45 SS armor pieces today and 3 were uny with one being a sentinel and only got 1 Overeaters roll.

My first roll was a bloodied Fixer, 3 trash fixers for fun, and then I stopped before things got too ugly. Can’t wait until they start selling cores and modules for atoms.

Always do your legendary rolls, crafting or purchases on Tuesday. This is the official day everything resets and will give you the best opportunity to get atleast something you wanted. This of course is my experience.

Ok, clearly weapon weight redux is the most important effect added with Legendary power armor crafting. Weapon weight redux is paramount, even more important than any of the first star effects. Full set of weapon weight redux legendary excavator is ALL YOU NEED!!!

On my first roll on my T-60, I end getting 2 weapons reductions, assassin and action increase points. On the hellcat I get 4 pieces of wepond reduction weight, 2 aristocrats, the rest was mutants and food, drink and chems reductions. I am happy with this start. Now I am focusing on the T-65. So far, so good.

Well I haven’t even tried legendary armour crafting yet. I’m still trying to get a gun that I like. I should imagine I’ll probably have a decent set of armour about this time next year.

This is precisely why I'm going to save up until the 4th star comes out. Who knows if all of this grind would be completely worthless due to 3 stars possibly becoming obsolete with the introduction of a 4th star.

I see with everything in fallout like a lotery,everything cost time and we are 10% rewarded. It's like shooting 400 bullets and getting 2 stims 2 radaway...and 75 caps...WTF. Now seeing this ,Bethesda should change th odds PLEASE!

Beth seriously needs to buff these new add ins with the system. 5% extra stim/radx efficiency, is a joke and not even a good one. Over half of the new add-ons to the legendary crafting are inexcusable, other than to simply make it more frustrating in an already mildly frustrating, and broken game. If they're going to dilute the pool, make the one's you stuff in, actually worthwhile and somewhat rewarding. Old system was vastly superior, annoying, yes, but much more manageable than this. Heart goes out to turtle, lol. You know, it would even be so bad if they, say, had a weapon/armor crafting system similar to Nioh 2, something I'd recommend any dev should model thier work after, at least if they're going to have weapon crafting, etc.

No kidding I did a fast event on the way to dropping off my like 40 legend items still able to move because they was all light then it just dumps a regen raider power chest on me and it's like "Bloody hell why?" and on the way crawling there it's just spamming me with useless power armor parts. by the time I can finally drop them off I had like 90 pounds in junk power armor.

I have yet to roll an Anti-Armor mod or a Bloodied mod. Only decent one was a Vampire Fixer...and I already had two of them.

I tried to roll my excavator. It became a semi random mess, 80 cores 🤣 I think its better to roll 1 stars to get a primary effect you want and leave it at that. Just crazy expensive.

The only good thing about this is it will let you make at least some kind of legendary weapon you need. Me for example, I was having no luck rolling a legendary power fist from the purveyor or drops, this at least let me craft one and then turn it into a 3 star.
