I felt Notre dame should of hired Minnesota PJ Fleck as HC because he is beginning to be known as team builder with less talent and being able to compete with big teams. Notre Dame had that with Brian Kelly. Kelly just did not have the formula to get them to win a National title. I felt Petersen (Boise st and Washington) and chip Kelly (Oregon) had a winning formula that could of won a title with the right situation. Notre Dame needs a clear scheme and formula that compliments offense and defense but this season shows it’s not there. The offense and defense has looked to simple. I have thought Notre dame should have ran a combination of the Baylor wide zone offense and the 2,3,4,5 shift offense Petersen ran at Boise st to be more explosive and harder for defenses to dissect. On defense I thought bringing in golden was a concern who has not called plays in a while. His defense looks to simple and is not having the sacks and turnovers needed to be top five. I was hoping ND would of hired the DC at Minnesota or Wisconsin who have smash mouth D. I could see Notre Dane winless going into UNLV. Notre Dame could be returning to a before BK averaging 6-6 seasons again. Because to be the best you must have the best formula, staff, scheme and direction the all three offense defense and special teams compliment. I do not see it.

I hate ND, but that jaded rant was absurd. ND makes more TV revenue than most of the winning teams do, combined. They are a national brand. They don't need to be in a Conference. Personally I'd like to see more teams leave the socialist conference model, and go independent. Why play by a conference's rules, when they don't even value the rhetoric the spew. Let's evaluate the 13th Data point? Alabama in 2017, played FCS Mercer [having an 11 team FBS Schedule] The Tide went on to lose to Auburn during the regular season [10-1 in FBS] They did not play in the SEC Championship [12 Data points, 1 FCS, 1 Loss] Alabama went on to play for a Championship in the Playoffs. So all of the argument against the Leprechauns staying independent is weak.
@josephmoya50982 жыл бұрын
@@Jaems_Scott That's not true. ND doesn't release exact numbers, but at the moment, they are making about $5 million less a year than each ACC team. They are not independent because it helps them. They are independent because of tradition. And they turned down over $100 million a year for a potential of $60 million a year just to stay independent. If ND had been in the BIG 10 these last 10 years, they would have been consistently the second-best program, with several, really bad, awful years. So its not for ease of schedule. I mean, just look at this year. OSU, Clemson, BYU, USC. It is purely for tradition. Something that seems to have gone completely by the wayside to the annoyance of many fans.
@Jaems_Scott2 жыл бұрын
@@josephmoya5098 = Actually, it is true. You are talking about TV Money by Contract. I' was referring to TV Ratings, that ND draws for the network they're on. The Ratings they draw are much higher than over half of any conference slate they would join. As per their endowment, it is around $22 Billion. So their sovereign market share, being a non-academic affiliate, is worth more than the total estimate of the entire span of any one conference member, under TV Contract.
@josephmoya50982 жыл бұрын
@@Jaems_Scott I see. You are correct about that. I just get tired of people saying ND does this because they are greedy or think they are better than everyone else. That's not true. They do it because ND fans like the traditions they have and don't want to watch CFB football become an NFL minor league.

-2 interceptions thrown by Buchner, Irish win. That's obvious. Notre Dame ain't going to the big dance and neither is Marshall. Notre Dame can afford to lose two more and still salvage a season and then build on next year. Any more than that they'll probably be looking at a new coach. If they go 0-3, it will point to a catastrophic season and whatever is broken will not get fixed on the fly. So if Notre Dame is so bad and Marshall put them on skates and they have no chemistry and they couldn't run the ball; what's the reason for Marshall to gloat? You simply beat a bad team. Cause that's what's being said.

I’m just saying… it’s been this way for years at notre dame. All these people hype up this team and if they get any where near close to the playoffs or even when it was just the national championship with no playoff, whenever they play teams that are actually good they lose. Now it’s even worse. It is my belief they are the most overrated program in the nation. So you’re at least number 1 in something it’s just in how overrated you actually are.

I happen to really like the Notre Dame program for its history, academic standards, prestige/lore, but seriously, this has to be one of those games where every single person inside the gates of Notre Dame Stadium stopped being Notre Dame fans live in-person. Marshall can now say that they are Notre Dame's dad, all of them! Either show some flexibility academically, it's not 1945 anymore, most all universities have decent resources, or disappear at this point.

And yet, Notre Dame has been a top 10 program the past 10 years while another program with a lot of historical success hasn't been. What do you think the difference between Notre Dame and Florida State has been? Generally speaking the teams that recruit very well perform very well.

Honestly, they will not ever be able to compete with the transfer portal currently. Unless a graduate transfer, ND admits it is hard for undergrads to do it. Marshall got 20 plus players via transfer. I think they are pretty good actually.
