Xi Jinping Once said, "no force can shake the status of our great mother land or stop the chinese people and nation from marching forward" Xi's statement came during the 70th anniversary of the Communist party rule A very dangerous proposition mentioning, "The Chinese people" A strategy so sweeping and encompassing the bounds beyond Communism!!!

If it sounds like Mr. Gertz's words are echoing there, it might be because everything he has said has as much to do with fascism, as with communism/marxism/leninism. Neither Lenin or Mao were actually going by any of these principles promoting "the workers"; the way they use people showed they couldn't care less. It was all about power. And saying they cared about the masses was the way they got their power. Publicly: communist. Privately: fascist.

Peter Robinson of Hoover Institution once asked Stephen Kotkin, who had spent time in Russian archives reading Stalinist Era and Cold War era documents, what the biggest surprise was. “They were really Communists,” he replied.
@Vaeldarg6 ай бұрын
Oh yeah, could really see how much Stalin cared about "the workers". Definately didn't only care about having power over them. "Peoples' Republic of China", "Peoples' Republic of North Korea" certainly are not just plastering that on to pretend to be supported by the people. Hmm, using labels like that just to get power, stoking nationalism, cultivating cults of personality around a dictator, where have heard that before.....let's ask the "national socialists" of Germany. /s

What actual policies does china implement in its own country that are socialist or marxist? Communism is a economic and a political theory and I've felt more and more that the ccp is holding on tight to the political side of communism for power but not really the economic side.
@musa76065 ай бұрын
Correct. Its much more fascist than communist. Communism is about class struggle and forcing that class struggle on other countries. There is none of that here. The CCP is just a big ol' cartel with nukes.

10:35 "Even the Romans never claimed to own the Mediterranean Sea". Well, arguably, they did: Mare Nostrum. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mare_Nostrum Obviously, for some time, the Mediterranean actually was under Roman dominion, it was an interior sea essentially. Not something that China could claim about the SCS.

People are born to do particilar things really well almost any kind of profession occupation you can think of someone is born for it but both systems put people into things they're not built for n you get a restless cynical population the key is helping to put young people in situations where they can discover their true talent n prosper from it not what they feel moment to moment but allow them the room for trial n error so they can find their true talent

I think Gertz is a perfect example for the fact, that you can be able to see the flaws in a system, but that doesn't mean your ideas for a solution aren't bull hicky. In that aspect he ironically mirrors many a Communist. P.S.: I actually laughed out loud when he seemed to want to mark the "debate" between the earth-centred and sun-centred worldviews down as something, that made Christianity look good.

It's quite perplexing and even frustrating to continually hear commentators, both professional and amateur, gifting the CCP a veneer of prestige as an ideology. The more time has passed since Marx's works on communal productivity, dictatorship of the proletariat etc....the less Marxist/Communism has been practised by governments in the past 150 years. Since its founding, the mechanism of how the CCP functions is more akin to gangsterism than any organised creed. The elite few at the top "struggle" against each other for supremacy, and the bottom 99.9% are bribed/threatened/or harassed to remain in the good graces of whoever flexes the most muscle at any given time.

Around 35:00 I made a remark about the misuse of science as a struggle to underpin religion... But the rant goes further down into the rabbithole. Now science needs to prove there's only 2 genders (because that's somehow relevant - it's only relevant because some people made it their struggle to prove otherwise which still isn't relevant anyway). He's treating science like religion (or marxism) by first determining the goal and then working (or struggling) towards it. It's not that Marxism is suddenly good if you use it to struggle towards rightist instead of leftist goals.

Making a lot of sense, but the religious quasi scientific rant around 35:00 in, may do the cause more harm than good. It's just like marxism but then declaring that science is a struggle and the most recent goal is to underpin religious values. Spoiler alert: you don't want to do take that route unless you want to end up in a 100 years where China is now. Just have a look at other countries who currently underpin their atrocious regime with religion instead of atheism. The common theme is autoritarian leaders and expansion of influence, not so much religion versus atheism. The reason why is really simple: in order to stay in power they need to choose a concept (whichever suits them best) and then double down on it, because the other route would allow for competition. A religous leader needs to control the state church (Putin, Iran, etc), an atheist leader needs to ban every religion and control what's left of it (Xi).
