Data naming a cat "spot" who coincidentally has no spots and stripes instead is the most data thing I can think of. Like he just searched the most popular cat names, saw spot was a top pick, and picked it without being able to tell why someone would name a cat "spot" lol

Soooo...why did Soong program Data with multiple sexual techniques, but not give him the ability to whistle or use contractions?! I get that Data needs to be able to interact with humans, but I'm fairly sure whistling and proper grammar are more commonly employed than sex, unless Soong was crazy popular with the ladies and wanted Data to follow suit.

Lore alleged that Data can't use contractions by design in an effort to make him sound "less perfect" among humans than Lore. To refrain from using contractions or be unable to do so doesn't mean Data lacks "proper grammar". If anything, his grammar is strictly formal.

Yamagashi San: It may have been a bid for more realism on Voyager's part; when you consider that there are over 380+ viruses that cause the cold to vaccinate against on the one hand and the understandable lack of urgency to cure an illness that causes no serious harm to the fast majority of healthy individuals who contract it, to say that could take several centuries to cure successfully is putting it a bit mildly.

Probably could cure it easily but better that people just let it happen. It's not harmful and it's much easier to let the immune system keep itself strong than to have to immunise against every disease there is
@shiningarmour68055 жыл бұрын
If you isolate a viral infection long enough, it can "die" actually. There are some diseases out there, very viral, that have actually gone extinct due to bad timing and bad luck on their parts. I like how in Disney's The Legend of Tarzan the cartoon, they briefly cover this, that if you're unearthing things, you run the chance of _stirring_ the ground and resurfacing diseases.
