Really enjoying your videos! I'm new here, so I'm going through watching them at random. You really turn out some great stuff. I like to think one day I'll get there. I'm a noob, so I'm making small simple things right now like a glasses case & zipper pouches. I'm in the process of slowing getting materials for bigger & more detailed projects eventually. One day I hope to purchase something you've made! You seem to like a lot of the same things I do, so I love seeing your room, too! 💜

Lauren. I bought this pattern because of you!! I made one yesterday. It is so cute. It will be Christmas presents for in-laws. I used cotton fabric as the vinyl has not yet arrived - ordered this because of you to!!! For cotton fabric, do you use fusible fleece or decovil light for the back of the pouch. The one I made yesterday I used fusible fleece but only woven fuse on the front pieces. Thanks for your input!!
@LaurenMormino

I actually haven’t made one in cotton fabrics but I would probably just use Wovenfuse and the waterproof canvas for lining!

I followed along and made one with my own measurements. Bought the pattern and followed her measurements. I did not like that there was at least 1 1/2 in on the top zipper panel! I made it with cork and it’s too pricey to have that much waste.

Your "explanation" from 4:53 to 5:03 about trimming the pattern pieces was NOT clear at all. Why not just tell us what you did to trim each piece down, or why not just share the dimensions above? This is a video by someone who has made this item so many times before that they don't realize how many details they are not explaining or leaving out entirely. Fine for any of you who might be experienced sewers, but not so great for those of us trying to *learn* how to construct the item step-by-step.

Thank you for sharing the website for the vynil! Totally going to get this pattern and make these as an affordable item my friends can buy from me. *squee* and I like basting my zippers with an Elmer's glue stick it keeps them from being wavy. Works for me and it's super cheap, I stock up on them when back to school sales are going. And I prefer using rubber cement rather than double stick tape. Rubber cement in a squeeze bottle.

I love the design and just finished my first bag. For succeeding bags I will also just cut out those front panel pieces separately instead of cutting apart the one large piece as described in the pattern. I found that very messy to deal with the trimming afterward, so I won’t do that again! Just to make it simpler I will also make templates for faster cutting because this is a bag I will want to make for gifts, and as a wristlet as well as a cosmetic bag for my backpack. Another modification I will make is to add zipper tabs on the main body zipper. I prefer the neater look and tabs makes the sides easier to sew. I like to Iron the interfacing on the fabric before cutting out the pattern pieces. It’s much faster than cutting outer fabric, lining, and interfacing separately. Thanks for your tips and the video! If I hadn’t seen this first I might not have bought the pattern, even though I am a very experienced stitcher! I have recently become. A very low-vision stitcher, but a huge magnifying LED lamp keeps me enjoying my favorite activity.

I love your videos! I'm new to making bags and don't know what I would have done without your videos. You explain everything so good, even though I have to hit replay a lot.....I heard you say....you don't mind talking. lol Thanks so so much!!

Are you using all vinyl on the outside Lauren? I went on the punk site and your right beautiful vinyls and reasonable! Also, I was on your site to buy your wristlet straps, but I didn't know how much to ship to Ontario, Canada. Too many questions I'm sorry.

Hi Rose! no problem! I'm using a repurposed clothing item for my center fabric actually! You could use vinyl or leather or cotton etc. I do ship to canada! I don't know the pricing, but when you check out BEFORE you enter payment info it will give you shipping cost and then you can decide to purchase or say "USPS your international prices are the worst and I can't pay that" because sometimes they DO!!!!

Thank you so much for this video! I made my first Devon pouch today before I watched your video. It took me all day long and I messed up the corner of the top zipper! I somehow sewed one end into the lining. I love the way you made yours. I'll be making more!
