It's implied that some Infected retain a primitive, basic knowledge of how to use tools. Another scene that exemplifies this is when Don kills Scarlet in the subway station using the butt of Doyle's rifle.

Don is a unique infected. He is "Patient Zero" of the 2nd outbreak. He was infected by his wife who not only was a carrier, but he was infected by saliva through the kiss. No other case of this happening. He is more intelligent. He was smart enough to survive the firebombing and shows signs of planning the spread of infection during the "Code Red" lockdown. He starts off in survival mode by outright killing any soldier he comes in contact with and patiently waits for the Code Red lockdown to actually spread the virus in the most effective way possible. Which he succeeded.

What I think happened at the end: Andy, who like his mother was immune to the virus, was bitten by his father, who happened to be a one of a kind infected. Although originally asymptomatic, Andy eventually turns during the helicopter ride. He would introduce a new variation of the virus, that would effectively bring the world to its knees.

Yes, I so agree. And I'm happy that other people think so too. There's so many errors into this movie. Like I loved the infected outbreak scene. That to me looked so realistic and great. But it was so cringy after the group stayed at a park stop before the infected came running across the field. and when infected dom followed the group right to the end was terrible. Even when the troops bombed the city. How on earth did the explosion miss Dom when the fire was going in every direction but some how didn't turn the blind corner when he was there. The opening cottage scene was flawless. 10/10 that bit alone because it was more survival. I expect 28 years later to be more like that

This all started because he kissed his wife , i understand he missed her and loves her , but were they found her was in the old family home or in the old nieghborhood and he already knew the rage virus existed he survived initial outbreak fleeing on that outboard prop boat , so he knew ahead of time what infected look like , in real life he would of known not to kiss her because even tho her genes have an unique trait to resist infection she still spent allot of time around that area and her blood already had abnormalites , so based off the testing her husband would of been like , " hmmmm maybe i should not sleep with her or kiss her till we get an all clear " , or maybe he just thought " well she is not acting like other infected so she is probably ok " , its sad because his mind tho infected still remembered some of his family and he never kills them , he goes on a doosy of a spreee tho once infected lol

The movie forced the plot so that an outbreak can happen and let go of any logical common sense, so I struggle to take this movie seriously.

Don bit everyone's neck out oddly enough or so they attempted to show (I know it's a bit cheesy and low budget looking but try to follow). They're not undead zombies so any life threatening damage such as well, biting out someone's neck is going to kill/prevent the host transforming. They'll bleed out in seconds hence the blood all over the floor after.

If someone with the rage virus says in real life, bit, throws up blood, or scratches you it would take about 3-4 days after contact to start showing signs of symptoms. So in real life if something like the rage virus did happen, it would be very easy to contain and just keep people exposed to it locked up in a containment room until further notice

There are certain illegal drugs that potentially have the same effect as the rage virus. Just you dont get infected if that rage drugged up person attacks you per say. But yeah rabies is the most likely form. But it would have to be a mutated form of rabies as common rabies we have in world now takes months usually for symptoms to appear and when they do it’s usually makes the person bed bound and delirious. Not aggressive like.

All of you are over estimating the resources the military had here. This isnt the iran war 😂 the first outbreak probably wiped most of the real military, and anyone who survived and was old enough to be taught how to shoot was probably newly hired/drafted. Why would the military not guard Don's wife? Maybe they were, off screen, and Don had already walked past them. Maybe Don lied to them, saying hes there to work on something, so he can secretly see his wife. I dont think the military told Don specifically, hey we found your wife, and shes an asymptimatic carrier of the virus, so mind your distance. I dont think this comment section is really thinking about what shape the military presence here was in, and the trauma everyone has been through by now. When Don begins killing, yeah the soldiers have guns, but they probably thought this would never happen again, and also took a sec to realize what was running towards them 😅

The story behind this is that the entire zombie outbreak was based entirely in Great Britain. The US Military came in and wiped out practically the entire country and attempted to establish a safe zone and repopulate. The US Military was practically still functioning until this happened it's just an idiotic representation of its military capability.
