I'm glad you were honest about the fact that it doesn't really work when there is a lot of articulation during off-roading. I have seen SO many videos where people swear up and down that it is not rubbing, and they never mention that it ABSOLUTELY will if you have a lot of suspension articulation going on. This is NOT good for people that actually want to hit the trails.

@@IPinoyBoy69 Not as bad as I expected. Haven't gone up any mountain passes yet and I think that will be the real test. I went with the Nittos because they were easy to find, worked well on my heavy duty trucks, and I could get them in a C rating to help with weight. Fuel mileage was minimally impacted. Avg 18.4 instead of 18.6. Overall ride comfort has improved in my opinion. The larger tires acting as pneumatic suspension on small and harsh bumps and the heavier spring rate helping with roll and dive.

The wheel offset is the primary factor that should be considered. The more negative offset, the more likely you are to rub as this increases the wheels turning radius. If you want minimum modification to fit 285's, then I would chose a wheel with a 0 or slightly positive offset. The OE wheels have a +15 offset.

Still sweating this tire thing. I have a 4Runner TRD Pro with the Eibach springs that give me an additional 1.6" lift in the front and 1" in the back. The TRD Pro with Fox shocks is supposed to come with a 1" lift from the factory, so in theory I have 2.6" in the front and 2" in the back if we ignore the factory rake. Regardless, I do go off-road occasionally and would hate to have any kind of rubbing. The only reason why I got a 4Runner is for its reliability and I don't want to introduce issues. With that said, 285's look hawt! I may have to settle for 275s for peace of mind.

The Eibach pro is actually a little bigger in the front. 2.75" in the front and 1" in the rear. Advertised lift on my front springs is 1.6". The Eibach kit seems like a solid kit, my concern with it was sagging being a little over an inch higher in the front. My assumption is that I would lose the rake I have right now if I used that kit with my drawer system.
@short21yang
@short21yang 3 жыл бұрын
@@YotaHacks with that being said, how much does your drawer system weigh (approximately). That’ll give me an idea, with my ladder and Gobi rack I’ll be pushing around an appropriate extra 100lbs or so of constant weight. If your drawer system is around that constant weight too then I’ll be comfortable. I’d prefer a natural rake and have it settle down with extra weight as well rather than leveling then having it sag in the rear
