Ok guys another friday means another addition to BigStackDs videos. Today I grab an awesome little 29 kilo motor from the scrap bin. This motor has a cast iron casing so ill only be melting the copper on this one and give the steel and cast iron to my friend. Sit back and relax to the the simple sounds of the garage and burner .I hope you enjoy the Video today and ill hopefully see you all back here next week.
Again i normally say if you like the rings shown and used in this video be sure to check out the description where you can get 20% off the already discounted rings using my code and if you want to try your hand at melting yourself you can buy the burner on its own or the whole furnace set up and I can organise a 5% link for you of the total furnace price just email me on the link in the description😁👍🏻.
************************************************************************

Want 20% off then Use the code Dion
This ring company makes bracelets and other things and I will only ever back a company I believe in and these rings are of the highest quality they are absolutely awesome!

bigstackddddd@mail.com is my email if you want a 5% off discount link for a furnace or if you want just the Burner and make your own furnace the 5% link will work for that aswell.

HOW TO MIRROR FINISH A BAR
I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Grits 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000. The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder . Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored finish on it??????.
****************************************************
STEEL FOR MY FRIEND
I keep all my steel and cast iron pieces and I give them to my friend and once he gets about a tonne from me and his own collecting he takes that to the scrapyard and sells it then he buys some beer and comes over to my house and we make a night of it.
No My friend doesn’t have a KZbin channel he just scraps metal in his spare time.

If I recall correctly, most companies use aluminium (or stainless steel, don't flog me) as the car's outer body due to its rust resistance and light weight, that'd make a MONSTER melt. May be wrong though, found the info a long time ago

When you cast the supports for the shelves, each support should be made of the same metal that That particular shelf has on it....just an idea.....then again I'm probably stating the obvious...lol.

although you state an idea that would be really cool unfortunately with the amount of weight that is on the shelves none of them except maybe the Nordic gold would be able to support it though a cool idea its actually obviously impractical and flawed

Besides from the obvious melting and casting, there are several reasons I like these videos: 1- You're recycling trash that won't go in the landfill for our entertainment 2- You clean up all the bits and save off anything good..no waste. My OCD appreciates that. 3- No background music in your videos. 4- Your doggos.

I'm thinking you need thicker mold bottoms as to why you're always getting holes. Since the heat goes to the bottom, the mold is getting way too hot. I've been noticing these for awhile. If you got holes somewhere and a lot of them, try making the mold twice as thick as the bar itself. That way the mold can w/stand all the heat. Try it out and show us what happens? Keep the videos coming though! Love them! 💙💙💙🤙🤙🤙

According to google why holes appear: Gas porosity occurs when the metal traps gas (most often nitrogen, oxygen or hydrogen) during casting. When the casting cools and solidifies, bubbles form because the solid form of the metal cannot hold as much gas as the liquid form. These bubbles appear on a casting as rounded, circular cavities or holes.

PLZ UP! IMPORTANT! To reduce cavities you need: 1. Protect copper copper from oxidation during smelting. Use borax. (Green flame = oxidation) 2. Temperature control. Copper pouring temperature within 1200-1000 Celsius - try different value. You need to more preheat for mold: slower cooling melt - less cavities. 3. Pouring speed - try slower fill the mold. From Russia with love ;)
