In today's video I show you how I took my Boba Fett's Throne Room set and gave it a massive overhaul to turn it into Boba Fett's PALACE instead. The instructions for how to build this set, as well as a parts list for what you will need in addition to the official set, can be found here: rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-1082...

Wow it looks stellar. The playability looks really fun I love it, I totally agree I wish Lego would sell smaller sets that combine to make something bigger. Something like that would totally work for the geonosis arena for example

@@2bricks no clue . One set could be the factory There could then be 3 seperate sets with: One creature, one of the towers with chains and a third build (maybe a carriage or spectator seat or a gateway) I think that would be great

@@2bricks I gotta say, I’ve just discovered your channel and I SO appreciate your play-scale/minifig-compatible scale MOCs because they are much more realistically accessible for the average person. I have been a LEGO fan for… 20 years (??? Damn…) and I’ve always been that kid who had to pick and choose which sets to get from a cost standpoint. Even now, as an adult with a job and *some* disposable money, I still have to be choosy about whether to get sets or bricks for my own MOCs, and I’m always trying to go for something that is smaller, but still accessible for minifigs and “play”. All this to say, you’re inspiring me to keep on that path!

Seeing the entire video with all the design features really highlights your creativity!! All the rock work and the shape of the palace looks so good, it really looks like those iconic shots of Jabba's palace from a distance. Then you "zoom in" and get all those playset features on the other side, it's really incredible. A great combination of play and display! I continue to tip my hat, sir!

This is a really amazing build, and it makes really good use of fitting things together without getting too big, but I can’t get behind the main door leading to the rancor pit that’s really odd to me
@2bricks
@2bricks 5 ай бұрын
thanks! yeah that was just a consequence of not having that many interior spaces to work with, so the Rancor pit area has to double as a few different things depending on the play scenario. Not ideal, but it's the best I could do without needing an absolute ton more pieces :)

This is beautiful and ingenious. I am impressed and covetous. I was just writing this comment to ask about replacing the throne with the jabba figure and you talked about it at that exact moment. This is really well done. The rockface/mountain side is great and the curves in the architecture are spot on. I would have preferred the trapdoor to the rancor pit to be more of a mesh grate than the solid plate but the movement you achieved with the mechanism is impressive. I wish it came with a b'omarr monk as well. Cheers.

when I was a kid, we used to get those massive knight castle back in the 90s or so, they had so many features, you could actually play with. Now I resort more to those kind of mods (usually simpler) videos so we can actually play with my son... Lego sets became very simple, built is often weak and it s very often overpriced. They often neglect storage spaces for weapons for example which are necessary when you play (ex: in the Xwing, what should we do with Luke s saber? it goes nowehere). What you did there is show them that they could do a GREAT Boba's palace if they wanted to. Amazing job and completely agree with your comments at the end (but I guess they did it that for financial reasons..)

I think your build is excellent and I totally agree with your POV regarding the sad absence of large scale playsets in today's Lego programme and no modularity in Star Wars sets in particular. But aside from that I have to say that I stumbled upon your fantastic model just because the rendition of some chinese knockoff brand using your very instructions (I bet without your consent or paying you) showed up in my amazon feed and I went out to look for the original designer. Anyway, I'm gladly buying your instructions just to show my appreciation (and with absolutely no idea if and when I'll ever come around to building it). Keep up the great work in both design and your videos, you have certainly a new follower here and on rebrickable! 🙂

Amazing work! I really wish they could re-make the original 2012 set or at least put Jabba as a big fig in a new set

@@2bricks Hey 2bricks, I have 1 small question - would Jabba's fig fit into Boba Fett's Throne room current set if we modify or pull the throne?
@2bricks
@2bricks Жыл бұрын
Yes! I think I showed that off somewhere. But yes you can modify the throne to accommodate a jabba easily!

Really good build, not perfect but a great scale and a great starting cocept of what a MBS set could be Which begs the question when are we getting a master builder series version of the Jabba's/ Boba's Palace I hope to do my own varient some day this or next year combining 2 of bobas throne room 2012's Jabbas palace, 2013's rancor pit and 2018's Hoth medical chamber

Now that I've been able to find the list of additional parts and import it into bricklink and get a general idea of what it would run, way too expensive I feel ($250 before tax). This moc is wayyy cool. But I guess I'm more of a fan of the "go buy this set x times or these sets to make this" and maybe like $50 worth in extra pieces. XD

Fair enough! It’s a lot of money for sure and you can’t get VIP points from the secondary market of course. Best of luck!!

With the ever closer release of the New republic fighter tank, are you planning on modifying it? I think the tank is not a bad design, it just needs to widen a bit at the head.

I think so!! I’m definitely getting it and I’ll see what changes feel appropriate when I have it in my hands!

Honestly its such a shame, because that piece they use for the front could work amazingly if they had bothered to make it seal to the rest of the structure. It just feels half baked
@2bricks

Well we shall see if we can bake it all the way!

This is what I wish a Master Builder series Jabbas Palace would be! It's a shame they will probably never make a Master Builder Series Jabbas Palace tho :(

Thanks! I wish that they would do way more master builder series of more obscure locations 😩

I see at least 4 different sets LEGO could/should have made out of this and I love it. Based on the Lukes Landspeeder UCS set it's unlikely LEGO marketing etc. actually watches KZbin vids but rather just takes the data from the comments so I'd really hope that lazy trend changes as this is a fantastic build and the "LEGO Star Wars Play Set Team" needs to take notes from for sure.

Thanks! Man it sure would be nice to think that if I make enough play sets that people want Lego may eventually take notice and give us more of what we want! 😮

@lego y’all need to mass produce this. He did an amazing job. Like people would pay for this. Like please listen to your MoC builders. Like y’all gave us incomplete throne room with no roof

Wow thats amazing! I hace a question: how many Sets do you need for this moc ?
@2bricks
@2bricks 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I recommend just buying the one and then seeking out the extra parts on bricklink! That way you’ll have just what you need with no waste! (You couldn’t build this by just getting multiple sets anyhow so there’s really no reason to). Hope that answered your question, and happy building!!
