Congratulations on 2K. The silver tool packed with the pipette is a nut driver used to loosen/tighten the hex head screws that fasten the drive rods to the wheels.

I wonder if somewhere over in China or Vietnam there is a group of workers watching youtube just to see us fight with the packaging they have created. That is a beautiful engine and it looked great with those passenger cars you chose. I would be up all night running trains. Great video! Especially good when you don't know what is in the box. Found mailboxes for layout on eBay O scale Also rode the real version of 4501 back in the 70’s . It was green then.

Congratulations on 2,000 Peachy. As someone who is also diesel centric getting your first steam engine is Pandora's box. Lionel does make a good number of smaller scale Legacy steam engines that would work fine out your layout. You're not just limited to LionChief engines.

Congrats on your first steamer! Sounds looks and runs great! If you ever get something from MTH engine wise, anything from the Railking line with run great on your layout. They are great value for the money. Lionel lion chief steamers have also gotten a lot more cool offerings as well! It’s a great time running steam and diesel together. Congratulations on 2K subscribers and also on your first venture into steam. 4501 looks perfect pulling those old school heavyweight passenger cars. Excellent choice, although this engine would be equally at home pulling freight. This model was a great choice on Lionel's part as 4501 has definitely been around (and still is). Maybe you could celebrate the occasion by taking a field trip to ride behind the prototype and bring us back (hint! hint!) some video. All in all very nice!

What a nice layout in such a small space. Plenty of action and good running. The Mikado got its name because they were originally built for the Japanese railways at the end of the 1800's. As you stated, it is the Japanese name for the Emperor. Excellent video.
