2nd Gen Cummins Overland Build on Carli Suspension Pintop System

This customer came to us looking to finish his Overland 2nd gen build, so we took on the challenge with this rare late 24v Ram 2500 Cummins Manual 2nd gen! This truck already had a Hiatus camper, but wasn't able to access the terrain the customer wanted to reach on the stock suspension.
We stepped things up a notch on this truck and installed a Carli Suspension 3" Pintop system with 2.5" diameter King reservoir shocks. We also added the Carli mild steel control arms, Thuren torsion sway bar, DT Pro Fab track bar and then the customer is sourcing a set of custom Deaver rear leaf springs. To finish off the steering, we installed Synergy HD steering linkage, a Synergy steering box brace, and a Fox steering stabilizer.
Finally we installed a set of 17" Method NV wheels with 0 offset wrapped in 35/12.5/17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers.

I had a second gen, extended cab, diesel , automatic, short bed. Purchased Brand New off the lot. Traded it with 73,000 miles on it. NO issues and it got 21 mpg. Wish i never traded it.

I have a 1996 Dodge 2500 12valve 4x4 extra cab, LB that I bought new that has 388,000 miles. I keep a 4 wheel pop up camper on it. I did a Carli 3.25 commuter with drops/track bar on my 4th gen along with a new synergy drag link and tie rod. My wife wants me to sell my old truck and camper but I believe I'm sold on the suspension upgrades. The bilsteins on the truck now melted the plastic dust covers on the washboard roads in Baja California, Mexico. Not sure of the bilstein reservoir shocks or the commuter. Its mostly a great freeway cruiser now but may upset my wife spending $4-5000 on my old truck. I did replace the seats from a 2013 with some simple brackets I had made. They are cloth but have the 12 way & folding bench. More comfortable than my leather Laramie seats :) Great to see others love these trucks too.

Damn! I love seeing how my build will look like before I'm done building it lol. I already have the Synergy HD steering kit and brace in. I have gone one step farther and thrown in a redhead gearbox since the old one was looser than groupie on a Motley Crue tour bus. I was thinking of going with a DOR track bar but after seeing this I'll probably do the Pro Fab track bar. Then onto the Carli pintop and thruen sway bar after that. Thanks guys!

My truck is very similar and I fully plan to go with the King 2.5 system. It’s an 01’ QCLB with the NV4500 (with the Red Cummins shift knob:) in Patriot Blue. I thought that Thuren sway bar wasn’t recommended with the higher center of gravity ie: camper ??

6 bolt steering gear is a must in these 2nd gens those little tiny 4 bolts are a complete engineering flaw

I have an 01 2500 Cummins manual 4x4 long bed with overload springs and air bags. I have a slide in truck camper loaded almost full time. I can feel sway when changing lanes on the highway. At this point I am not removing front or rear sway bars. My camper is roughly 2k pounds wet gear included.

One hundred percent yes they DO. Owner of an ˋ01 2500 5-spd QCLB here. I’ve actually gone through and put the EMF BJ‘s, EMS manual hub/free spin kit, etc. The front suspension gets beat to death over time with that heavy 5.9

WHAT??? These trucks new are up near $80,000. I bought a used 2014 Ram 3500 4x4 crewcab LB SRW for the Aisin transmission. It was so stiff that it wasn't a pleasure to drive. I bought the commuter 3.25 with drops, track bar for around $3500 and paid $800 to have it all installed and aligned. I bought it used in 2019 with 38,000 miles for $41,000 with no sales tax. I replaced the turbo actuator myself for $1000 and the plastic upper radiator Y for $40. What I tell my wife is the money I saved not going to the dealer, paid for the suspension upgrade. I just replaced the drag link with a Synergy and trying to get Chrysler to pay for the recall. I can tell you that CJC has responded promptly to ALL my email questions. I think it is wise to spend your hard earned money on a reputable company on the next biggest investment second to my house. Curiously, what are you driving? My truck now is being offered to be bought from Carmax for $46,000, which I am not doing these upgrades to sell it. I still have my 1996 Dodge 2500 with 388,000 miles and it runs great! I see it as a good investment...
