2nd gen Ram 2500 wheel spacer install + New wheels and tires. 2" spacers versus 1.5" spacers.

I have a 97' 2500. What is the offset on these new wheels? +57.1? So 1.5" spacers do allow clearance on the rear wide axle stub? I'm trying to fit new 18" 5th gen wheels. I'm going with bora but want to get it right.

Bought 5th gen wheels and tires for my 2nd gen on the back I have the problem you point out at 4:49. Are those 5th gen wheels you have? Will 2" spacers give me enough back spacing on them to fit on my truck ya figure?

I think 2” is the minimum. I bought 1.5 and 2 just to see what it did and I ended up using both to make them even. These wheels are off of a 2014 if I remember correctly.

Did you have problems with the fronts rubbing on the stabilizer arm what size are those wheels.

This is true. 2” isn’t too bad. Where people have noticeable issues is when you push wheels out far past the body.

They aren’t better as much as what I needed for fitment. They would only be better from the stand point that you can bolt them on fast instead of minor modifications.

Why does everyone say not to put wheels spacers on? I bought these rims thinking they would bolt right up but I need spacers.. is it safe to do?

We spoke to a local shop that is considered experts in the diesel community. They told us that as long as the spacers are high quality and the wheel studs have enough thread your ok to use them. They are not ideal and if the truck is regularly being expected to perform to it’s max capabilities it may not be wise to use spacers. We do not Max tow or haul with ours so we felt is was a reasonable modification.

I had the same annoyance with lug nuts on my first Gen, you can just buy longer lug nuts FYI
