I love his "happy dance". And the fact that he was again attacking the course was great as well. Showed he hadn't lost his confidence in you, he just knew he couldn't do it because he didn't have front shoes. Congratulations on your placing with Lee at Tryon!! From a trainer and former Paramedic in Ontario, Canada, Jenn. 💖,🇨🇦🇺🇸

So happy for Lee and for you, Happy dances all around. I hope Sharpie is getting better. I miss him terribly. Abscesses take forever to heal. Bongo had a drop and roll abscess that took forever. Kept him out of Competitive Trail Riding for a whole season. . Anyhow Tryon was just lovely and Lee looked so spot on. He would have done great at Kentucky but for his front shoes. You make my days bright.

So cool to see him doing so well with you! I love it that you dropped him down a few notches in difficulty and that he was able to take his time and really get his confidence back. That "happy dance" was adorable!

I watch a ton of eventing and dressage and I have a question: Why do eventers tend to hold their horses' heads behind the vertical? When I listen to commentary I hear that this is like leaving points on the table and it causes the horse to use their hindquarters differently (leaving even more points on the table). Just curious because so many eventers do it and the best pure dressage riders have the nose ever so slightly ahead of the vertical, which is what I thought was correct. Here to learn!
