After the 1983 release of their iconic self-titled debut album, Suicidal got banned from playing shows in their Los Angeles hometown because of “gang relations and violence”. However, around 1989, after the band had risen in popularity, the ban was lifted and Suicidal have continued playing live in L.A. since then. #grannysquad you guys rock !!

The last punk rock show in LA they played at was in 1984 at the Olympic auditorium. I was there that night, I was 13years old. I heard their crowd (suicidals) tore up the restrooms and did a lot of damage to the venue. They where known for doing that. They got reinstated like 1989.

SUICIDAL!!!! HELL YEAH!!! Great job ladies, the "banned in LA" headline was indeed a real thing, back in the 80's they had a song called "I Shot Reagan" (later renamed I shot The Devil) and were barred from performing in much of LA because of the song and the LAPD were falsely labelling the band and their fans as gang members. This song was, in part, a response to those things. Rock on ladies!!!!

Heath Jacks Too many reaction channels do the same songs of the same bands that got a lot of views on bigger channels and people requesting songs don't have much originality either, great metal bands like Metal Church, Overkill and Annihilator get ignored. Interesting story I remember reading somewhere. ST's lead guitarist, Rocky George's 'party trick' was the 8 finger tapping he does at the beginning of the song. One day, he and Robert Trujillo (the bass player who's now in Metallica) were fooling about in a hotel and , I can't remember exactly what happened but there was an accident involving roller blades and a hotel door that ended with Rocky severing one of his tapping fingers. After that, he sadly couldn't do his trick any more :( Also, great choice, grannies. One of my requests. Just Pantera (Domination - live in moscow or Cowboys from Hell) and Rammstein (Du hast or Der Meister) to go now. Keep up the good work and rock on :D

Hey Grannies, I am so so happy to see you two checking out some Suicidal. I've loved this band since the first time I heard them in the early 1990's. I've only seen them live in concert twice. Once was 1994 opening for Metallica, the next time wasn't until 2012 when the headlined This Is Hardcore Fest in Philadelphia. They have a lot of great songs and a very energetic live show. Some of their other more well known songs are How Will I Laugh Tomorrow (When I Can't Even Smile Today) and Institutionalized, which was played briefly in the first Ironman movie. Also, you son was right, Robert Trujillo played bass for ST, then later joined Ozzy Osbourne's band before joining Metallica in the early 2000s after bassist Jason Newsted left the band.
