Tina thanks a lot for your channel I love it. I am new Bebe in this hubby wish to answer me my questions. First how can I stay away from lye exploration, What I really concerned is to add the lye water to the oil and ended up to have such dangerous result please advice me. So temperature must be with in the same recommended range,right? Secondly, it seems silly question but I have to ask ,can we use any kind of alcohol it does not matter if it is 91 or 50%? Thanks

You want to make sure your oils and lye water are within 10-15 degrees of each other before mixing. A good temp to mix around is 90-100 degree F for cold process soap making. For spraying the top of soap I use 91% rubbing alcohol to help with soda ash.

Can you please share what type of cutter you use and also where to purchase the wood mold
@TinaMoenck6 жыл бұрын
Barbra There are many suppliers on line. My boyfriend made all my wood molds and his brother made my cutter. The multi bar cutters are pricey, so in the beginning most people opt for something cheap. The Bud Cutter you can Google. For wood molds you can ask in my Facebook group for wood mold options.

What size crock pot would you recommend? I would like to try hot process. I have a couple of 5 lb wooden soap molds I can use but I should allow room for expansion in the crock pot, correct? Thanks.

Cathy Montgomery For my 5 pound wood molds I use a 7 or 8 quart crock pot. You only want your soap batter to fill half of the crock for hp to allow for volcanoes.

One of the biggest things is to take the time needed to practice, learn, and test your products. You need the confidence in your skills and products, and that only comes with time.

Why not aluminum under the molds?
@TinaMoenck7 жыл бұрын
Ainere Acanda In case of spilling the soap. Aluminum reacts with lye to form hydrogen gas, it's very dangerous.
