As a true hardcore BMW guy I can validly say that the different M variant trim levels are just for different people with different priorities when it comes to driving. The toxic behavior and elitism comes from people who own used M cars from years ago that cost as much as a brand new honda. Real BMW fans would never be like that.

BMW owner here, and I completely agree with your assessment about us. Some are businessmen who just bought the car (5-series, obviously) because luxury sedan. The Shoe owners are usually chill. The group of people who buy almost any BMW they can afford is divided to the young "cool" guys who have their baseball cap on backwards, and sit so low in their car the said cap is all that shows over the steering wheel, and to the ones who just love how the cars look and feel, and are quite humble about it. Then there are the infighting ///M fanboys. Oh, and the X-series owners, who probably bought it because their neighbour or coworker bought a Volvo XC90. Both live in city, and work office jobs, but need the big SUVs to one-up each other.

I’m someone who drives a lot and to a lot of places. From my experience the worst drivers are always BMW, Volkswagen, Mercedes ,Dodge and Tesla. These people are always driving very reckless, I’ve had so many of them cut me off in traffic and literally drive the wrong side of the road to cut other people off. Almost causing accidents. If I had a dash cam I could’ve probably made so many compilations these guys

BMW owners in my experience can be very nice people who love the brand no matter which model and trim you have versus those who bought in for the hype and gatekeep others for not having an M car or not having a real "purist" BMW model. For example with my Z3, the first group would be excited to see it versus the second group that would constantly diss my car. It really is a hit or miss experience lol.

I own a regular garden variety Mustang GT (an '02 with the 2V 4.6L) and I've never gotten trashed to my face by owners of "better" Mustang models. I make jokes about the older more pathetic V6 Mustangs, but if someone has a Mustang, it's all good to me. Unless they are trying to make the silly V6 look like a Saleen/Shelby/Roush mash-up. That's just cringe.

I own a 1999 Saleen and can agree the Mustang community gets hate from other people but doesn't give that much except for the normal American muscle fight between the big 3. I make jokes about V6s too but never to actually ruin their day.

@@angelgjr1999 the thing is, the eco boost can be set up relatively easy to be just as fast or faster than stock or somewhat modded 5.0. Especially 10 speed eco boosts. Theres a fast one over here with a bigger turbo, exhaust, tune, and on E.

@@904Saleen “Relatively easy” I guess that depends if you’re willing to spend 5.0 money on ecoboost mods. You can make nearly any coupe car “fast” if you spend 50k or more. Me personally I prefer the sound of a V8. V8s also have potential to get to 700-800 hp with turbos.

I'm new to the bmw community, my first bmw ever 2021 bmw M8 Gran coupe competition and for what I seen with m driver's is we drive moderately it's the 328i or 330i and also 535i driver's I seen that be driving recklessly.

Driving instructor here: We use two Teslas in our driving school and were actually the first in our area to do so. People tend to come up to me in parkinglots asking me what I think of these cars. "Wow a Tesla! That must be great." So I'm always happy to provide them with some profound feedback from the long days I spend in these high tech machines. "It's by far the absolute worst vehicle I've ever had the pleasure to drive" Seriously. The Drivetrain and EV-Factor is great (really it is), but the build quality... And we have the ones made for german standard... (here in germany, duh...) Every time I see the car my back hurts (I'm 30 years old and relatively fit) and the ride quality is way worse than my drift build track toy, to the point that I concider Teslas suspension to be nothing more than a myth. Our cars are 1,5 years old and clunk and rattle more than my 1987 celica, wich has been completely neglected by her first 5 owners... I just can't express how uncomfortable and over all inconvinient these cars are. (I got 5 lessons a day and have to charge it after the third... Long range package...) BUT! and that's a big one: the owners here in germany at least are rarely elitist idiots, rather over enthusiastic nerds. And that I can respect. 😉 Really bad cars though. 😜

I can say this, even in driving games this video is VERY accurate to what I see. Most games either have the Mopar or lambos but that's driving games I play. Either way they act like they are always above all other players when they legit only get 7 mpg and stop at gas stations more than I do in a minivan that claims to also get 7 mpg. It's like the saying, *work smarter, not harder*

BMW fanboy here. It's a mixed bag. You got the purists, who will defend bone stock BMWs tooth and nail. You do any modding to it, you'll get bashed. You've got the up-trimmers and overtrimmer's , only difference between the two is one have M cars and the others don't. They both will plaster M badging everywhere, regardless of whether or not their car is an M model; seatbelts, steering wheels, liveries, shifters, M badge everywhere. Purists will bash the overtrimmers for pretending to be something they are not, a M car owner; and will also bash the overtrimmers for ruining a tastefully done M car. You've got the oldies, who despise modern BMW styling and feel the brand has strayed from its original brand image. Will bash people with newer models. You've got the tuners, who are either completely chill or extremely competitive, no in-between. Both get bashed by purists usually. I can confirm e30 owners are more chill than owners of later generations.
