As a new painter of minis and choosing the ultramarines this was very helpful. Thank you so much for this video.

Have you ever considered doing a video comparing different brands' paints of the same colouration to give a better idea of the pros and cons of each brand's versions of said colours? There are different videos comparing paint brands in general, but saying things like "X brand is more pigmented lmao" doesn't give a good grasp on the core detailed basics of what AK Interactive's whites are like compared to GW/Citadel for example. Whites and yellows are the most obvious example as they have the most stark differing properties, but maybe it could apply to other colours too?
@TableTopReadyYouTubeАй бұрын
Not only is there a lot of variation between different brands, but there is variation within a range as well. Not al colours behave the same way. Its such a huge task to do this and ultimatly the outcome will be to use what ever you want and prefer. Everyone is different. I can't afford to buy all the paint just a video either :P I'm not Jazza or Squidmar

I finally got around to getting some contrast paints (well, Speedpaints, but you get the idea) and that Metallic style is just what I was looking for.

I think this is going to be a huge hit for you sir! Thank you. I’m definitely going to be doing the metallic contrast scheme for a kill team of ultramarines

Fantastic beginner guide. Also if you want to make the eyes really look like they're glowing, try a fluorescent paint from Vallejo, AK-Interactive etc.

Hi I find your tuorials the clearest to follow along. Bit of a selfish request but could you do Emperor's Spears?
@TableTopReadyYouTubeАй бұрын
thank you, for anyone looking to paint a chapter scheme I've not done, I always say that all the steps and techniques are the same, its just changing the colours you use. I always do a little research and make a plan for colours I use but the steps and how I paint a marine doesn't really change :)
@bogdan4024Ай бұрын
@@TableTopReadyKZbin what colour would you reccomend then for Emperor Spears? I was seeing a lot of Hoeth/Lothern/Alatoc blue, but I want smth more palish like
@TableTopReadyYouTubeАй бұрын
I don't want to make it easy for yah, I beleive in you to figure it out and you'll get more satisfaction out of it than me just telling you. you can always use all your spare parts to practice on and see what you like. what I reccomend may not even work for you :) good luck

Quick question, for the recess shade using night lords blue, could you achieve similar results just using the nuln oil paint for the cracks and crevices? Cheers
@TableTopReadyYouTubeАй бұрын
Yes you can absolutly use Nuln Oil, results may vary though and its tough to get a dark defined line with a shade. but give it a go :D

One of my colleagues likes to paint minis using contrasts, but he never uses white primer, beacause he says that on white contrasts looks too aggressive and unnatural. He instad uses Grey Seer or Wraithbone. What do you think about such approach?
@TableTopReadyYouTubeАй бұрын
its really up to the individuel and what they prefer, I prefer bold and bright colours and mostly use white scar or wraithbone

"beginner friendly" with 100% edge highlights? Don't think so.
@TableTopReadyYouTubeАй бұрын
I consider it to be beginner friendly to those who want to learn how to paint and want their miniatures to look good. If someone is just looking to get their miniatures on the tabletop then ofcourse its easier to do a drybrush or just not do it at all.
