One helpful tip I've heard is when you're storing food where you need a paper towel in the container, put it on the top of the food, store the food upside down, and that way if you need to replace it you can without digging to the bottom! I do this all the time with berries and lettuce! So helpful!
@sarasunshine883

My mom always did this too, and I do it now. Friends have asked me why I have salad bowls upside down. When I tell them, they're like 🤯, lol.

Me too. I also like to de-leaf romaine/green leaf lettuce and layer an extra paper towel every so often. Makes it last longer.

Salads with warm meat are my "jam." 🎶🎶 Add some roasted warm veggies, bacon, some warm bacon fat mixed with some balsamic is so delicious. Fresh squeezed.limes and lemons are good as well. Yum. I can totally relate the Dave's salad story. My husband would say where is the real food too. Food stories of cooking in the beginning of marriage are hilarious. We almost divorced over stuffed bell peppers. They were banned from our home for probably 15yrs. Lol. 😂😂😂😂 Thongs! LMAO!! 😂🤣

my mom used to make taco chili bowls when we were kids, she'd cook the meat just like that, but also add a drained can of rotel red onion and kidney beans to the meat and if we were really fancy she'd make tortilla strips. Leftovers usually went to make stuffed peppers with rice later on in the week. The memories ☺

When you asked if we liked avocados, I was literally eating avocado toast for breakfast lol. My favorite way to do this lately is a multi-grain toast, smashed avocado on top, everything bagel seasoning, black pepper and red pepper flakes (sometimes), then either an egg over medium or a sliced hard boiled one on top of that. Throw more seasoning on top or even hot sauce if you want! It's absolutely delicious! Eat with some fruit and/or yogurt and you've got yourself an awesome meal!

How ironic. My husband is working from home now and my kids and I are feeding him lunch daily. The kids are homeschooled anyway but since he’s home, they’ve created a “restaurant” with coupons, checks, etc. He has to “pay” for his lunch and they do the math as a project and review. Today on the menu was taco salad. He loved it! :) We had tacos two days ago and today was leftover meat. It went well. They enjoy taking his order and practicing their serving skills. 💗 Liz, Vero Beach, Fl.

My absolute favorite salad is steak salad- spinach, steak, fresh tomatoes, cheese, and croutons with ranch. Love love love it. I love the story. My dad would only allow a salad for dinner if there is a lot of meat for the salad and a bunch of cheese. He said a "chef salad". He had 4 oz of meat and 4 oz of cheese.... not so sure that was a salad still. I love it. Especially if it was fresh vegetables.

For easy clean up, line oven pan with foil when cooking anything. Oh I love it when hubby helps out in the kitchen. Mine always asks me “what can I do to help.” I love it and I always let him help me. Early in our marriage I told my husband we were having strawberry shortcake for dinner. He said sounds great. When he got home I served it for dinner. Of course, he was thinking for dessert, but I meant for actual dinner. That was an interesting dinner that night.

I also do a lot of salad style wraps. I love those low carb tortilla wraps! I do Greek seasoned chicken with tatziki sauce, onion, feta, cucumber, lettuce, and tomatoes. The teacher leading the meeting to us to make sure we did not forget to pack things for the shower...a bunch of the parents were like ‘what the heyday’...why do the need things for the shower? Hey Christine! You should definitely give avocado toast a try. It gets a bad rap for being a trendy meal but it's delicious. I just make it at home and it's such a satisfying breakfast. Please try it in one of your next videos, I would love to see your reaction! Here's my recommendation on how to make it: a nice sourdough slice toasted (or use your homemade bread) but the tang of the sourdough suits the flavors well, scoop and mush half an avocado, season it (I like salt, pepper, crushed red pep and sesame seeds but anything you like) and lastly top with either a fried egg with a runny yolk or chopped hard boiled egg. Enjoy with preferably a fork and knife. It's so creamy and something about the crispy toast and flavors of avocado and a runny egg is just heaven! 😋 You will love it, Christine! Don't miss out on the avo-toast any longer!

You should try a Vietnamese vermicelli dish. I believe it’s called bun (that’s the rice vermicelli). The meat is so flavorful and it’s loaded with a lot of lettuce, carrots, cucumbers, mint and basil that it feels like a noodle and salad dish. It’s really delicious and refreshing!

All about the avocado. I live in California. My really good tippers if you have half an avocado leave the pit in the other half and press the saran wrap all the way around the surface of your avocado and you can save a half that way

Thongs were flip flops.... Also for some reason zoris.. Which my aunt called them but she had been to Korea and Japan with the US so when she was younger and I believe the stories was the Korean or the Japanese or Hawaiian maybe description of what we now referred to as flip-flops my Brazilian friend just called them hobby Anna’s because that’s what they are in Brazil but that’s the brand.. the best brand

I’ve also really into limes lately. I can’t drink my water or my unsweetened iced tea without limes anymore. So good.

Raised in Southern California. Avocados were just a routine part of life, a taken for granted, God given right LOL. We never called them anything special, especially not "avocado toast". We just ate them on anything and everything. The one exception was Guacamole. We called that by name.

My parents, especially my dad, would call flip-flops beach-walkers. I have never in my life heard this anywhere else! Is this a thing?!? Do other people say that😂 dad died a year ago and I love to hear mom say it. It makes me giggle and reminds me of my dad.

Next time you make that lime juice dressing, try adding a bit of siracha! Yummy combo! Practically addictive. My fave hot meat salad is sliced steak with red onions and blue cheese crumbles on romaine. But that Korean beef looked incredible. And I have a chuck roast that is just waiting for that recipe!

Looks yummy. I have been trying not to snack also. I do keep granola bars or protein bars if I have to stay late at work or if I can't get to lunch right away
