I just subscribed because of this video…I am new to “getting fit”. Joined a gym about 5 months ago, and I am struggling with technique so this is great, please continue to make these type videos. Deadlifts is a big thing I am struggling with, so a technique to cover that would be great and any other “leg/butt” workouts involving an overhead bar. Thank you!

Brilliant video and very helpful, especially in light of the fact that today I did my first proper back squat! It was only with the barbell, no plates, but damn it, I was proud of myself! I managed to do three sets of 5 reps and when I finished I just wanted to keep going back to the squat rack, lol!

I've been using stronger by the day for a few months now and I am so much stronger! I love your lifts and I've learned so much! Can you incorporate more abs/ core into the program?

Yes yes yes!!! I like these videos on YT. I have to admit, as much as I like Insta, I don't know much about "stories", so I usually like watching videos here. Even though I'm not advanced to these levels yet, I'm learning from them and hopefully will be set up once I get there. I got a pair of Vans @ Goodwill for $20 that I plan on using for ST.

Squats are my most hated lift. Over 8 years of training I haven’t improved at all. I think now it’s become a fear thing. If I do tempo work I can stay controlled. I have long legs short torso and I’m quad dominant. I need help so bad. My coaches at CrossFit are super helpful but I just haven’t progressed. Don’t have social media so please post some more video of different peoples techniques. Thanks. Xxx

Another major problem with tippy-toeing out of the rack is when you re-rack. Especially after a heavy set. Having to tippy-toe or semi-jump the bar back into the rack can get dangerous.

Great quick tips that are easy to understand & apply! Seriously tho, shoes make ALL the difference! When I started lifting I wore Nike running shoes & always felt off balance & insecure in my big lifts. I started going barefoot & it changed everything🙌 Now I usually wear Chucks for deadlift & posterior chain days & metcons any squat days. My metcons came with an addition heel lift to add if needed. Bar path, set up & lay engagement are all HUGE in the success of those lifts too💕

Vid was great as usual. I'd only add that diagonal path is fine BUT we arch the back to make it less diagonal for max power. Perhaps that's more for intermediate/advanced benchers though. Basically we want to get as close to decline bench press as possible with arching as that's where we will be able to lift max weights...

They're just so damn expensive lmaoo. can you talk about some of your fave weightlifting shoes?? thanks!

This is such a cool concept! I really don’t use Instagram but I have a question about squats, my legs shake a lot when I do them, what could I be doing wrong?
@godizself13 жыл бұрын
You're not doing anything wrong. Your muscles are likely adjusting to the shock of the weight while building strength. You will have to control your body more before you untrack. Always do 3-5 preworkout sets under all circumstances. I do 5 preworkout 5x5. Then workouts sets 5x6 @167 lb with 1.30 rest. I can do all of this within 21 minutes. So don't let time be a factor to interfere with your strength, focus, and gains. I still don't think squats are fun but my legs, are beautifully muscular in tone and literally stop people in their tracks. So for ego sake I shall continue the squats. Here's the tip: When you are under the rack before you unload begin your sequential mantra and visualization. Every single time, without fall. Squeeze you're glutes, force your feet downward like a tree root, place the bar slightly above traps, with elbows slightly upward. Take your deep breath and squeeze your glutes out the rack. As you squat focus the energy on sitting the butt downward, feet firmly planted and tighten buttocks pushing upward. All weightlifting is energy. All matter is made of energy. Your body has more energy than the bar. Instead of allowing the bar to control you. Visualize you are one with the bar regardless of weight. Move with the energy instead of against it. Hope these tips help. If like to know.

Yes to foot control. Knees to toes don't get enough attention. My feet are so rigid I really work my shins and exterior lower leg when I squat.

For weight lifting with super flat feet would you have other shoe suggestions?
@tiryaclearsong4213 жыл бұрын
Truly flat or collapsing arch? I just wear converse because the inside has no arch support. Good for me because that would hurt. If your arch collapses you might need an insert.
