I’m 80, almost 81. So I feel like I’m kinda experienced enough to give a comment about life, lol. Through my life I have had many struggles, won a few & lost a few. But ( like a popular song says, ) It’s The Climb!! 🧗, and if you’re learning as your climbing, that’s what makes us a winner. Sometimes we may have to climb the same mountain ( or hill, if you’re luckier, lol), but the important part is always the same, never give up, and never give in, because when you reach the top you will reap the reward of the climb 🧗 🙏✝️❤️🇺🇸

Momma Mel thanks for talking about eat healthy and changes that we go through at a certain age. I’m about the same age as you and I’m trying to adjust my eating to a healthy lifestyle. Thanks for talking about the walking pad because, I didn’t know that it even existed. I always thought about a big bulky treadmill but, I don’t have the room for it in my house. So that walking pad might be just what I need. So when you talk about these things you never know who it might help. Thanks for sharing. I love the veggies and chicken stir fry. You have a soothing, comforting voice as if a friend is talking so I enjoy listening to you as you dice and chop your food. It isn't impressive to me to see someone "snap their fingers" and show their food suddenly cut up. These meals all look delicious and this is how I eat (high protein/low carb) to sustain my 80+ pound weight loss for ten years. Weight loss is indeed much slower as we age. We're all in your corner and don't mind hearing about your journey at all.

This is my favorite video you have ever made. Keep the real life and encouragement coming because we all need it. Your perspective is a good one slow and steady wins the race. I don’t try to think too far down the road just making better choices, one day at a time. I’m in the same boat with my family and I typically meal prep on Sunday afternoons for the entire week for my own dinner. 🤷🏼♀️ It works for me. Plus I enjoy cooking for them. I just can’t make a habit of eating like they do bc menopause is making it harder to keep my weight in check. Thanks Mel!

Mel, all of these recipes looked so flavorful! I can sacrifice certain unhealthy ingredients if I don’t skimp on flavor. I’m proud of you for making a life saving decision. Let’s face it, we aren’t getting any younger. It becomes about our health instead of our looks as we get on up in age. I still like looking my best but I prefer living LONGER. We need to be around for our grandchildren. And they are active little buggers! We have to keep up with them. I’m unsure whether you have grandchildren yet but I have SIX! I lost my husband to brain cancer four years ago and during the worst part of grieving I lost down to 100 lbs! I was very unhealthy. Basically starving myself. But I got sick every time I ate. With no appetite at all. I’m better now bc I put on 30 lbs. I stopped there and I’m maintaining that weight. Thanks for these recipes! I’m excited to make them!

Hey MommaMel! I absolutely love your channel and I never miss your videos. I always look forward to Sundays to see what you’re cooking. I’m so glad you are showing us some healthy recipes. I lost 50 lbs a few years ago doing keto. I’ve kept about 30 lbs off but I’ve let myself backslide so I’m now back on a healthier lifestyle doing a lot of the same things you are. I work in the school system as a special education paraprofessional so now I’m off for the summer and plan to get even more serious with my eating and exercise since I have more time and energy. I try to walk my dog every morning and trying to just sit less and move more. I wanted to let you know I have done the “walk away the pounds” walk at home system off and on for years. There are several of their videos on KZbin that you can do when you want to change things up from your walking pad. There’s no dancing just 4 basic steps that are easy and low impact. I don’t know if you have any dumbbells or stretchy chords but you can do that too to see results a little sooner than walking. I’m so happy for you on your healthier journey. I’m right there with ya sister! We can pray for each other and others working on getting healthier. Love ya, Missy

Awesome for you friend, I am proud of your success and I know you will hop right back into it and get those extra few back off again. No need to apologize. It's refreshing.
