I love the cantu leave in conditioner. I also use the Cantu activating mosituring curl crème instead of the ecko gel. I prefer the cantu better. It works for me. Plus I prefer using same name products in my hair.

This is the best tutorial I've seen on natural curls ... easy not using one thousand products.. A lot of black people don't know their history most black people have curly hair they just aren't educated on their history. Yeah, he is 4b so he gets shrinkage from water too, but you can always stretch out your curls as you are drying to reduce the amount of shrinkage! It will just take a bit longer.

It was leave in conditioner, not shampoo. We left the leave in conditioner on his hair which will soak in the hair to help moisturize. Use that and apply the other products right after. Then everything will dry together at the end. Do this on freshly washed hair (rinse out shampoo and conditioner- but NOT leave in conditioner or anything else afterwards)

Yeah you can stretch out that part of your hair by pulling it up and blow drying it. That way it dries stretched and longer so it doesn’t go back down so flat but still keeps the curls. Hope that makes sense , so glad it worked for you though !! 😊🙌🏽

okay soo i've always wanted to curl my hair but it never does..... like fresh out the shower like most of my hair would be curly but the the moment its dry all that is gone.... but my main issue is the front of my hair some how and for whatever reason i have two differently hair type the front is mostly waving almost straight while most of the back is curly and whenever i try to curl my hair the back n most of the side do get curled up but the front and upper does not they act like the want too but actually don't and i've watched a lot of video on how to curl hair but nun of have been successful on getting the front and upper top on my curled..... to the point where i give up and had my hair braided instead but i had recently cut my hair and while its growing back i wanted to give curling it another chance is they anything that you recommend or products?

Don’t want your hair with soap, only wash with sulfate free shampoo once a week. In between wash days you can also use cleansing conditioner, so it’s more of gentle moisturizing cleanse rather than stripping your hair. This is also called Cowashing, where you use cowashing/cleansing conditioner products. Once you wash, you should deep condition your hair. Then when you are out of shower and hair is wet, put leave in conditioner (you don’t rinse this out, this is meant to stay in ur hair). Then you apply your curling creams or gels. You can also finish off with an oil to seal in the moisture. He will usually have this curly hairstyle for a whole week before he washes again, or sometimes twice a week depending. So basically you should only use shampoos and gels once a week or twice a week and the rest of the week you just leave your hair alone and wear a bonnet or durag at night to protect it and keep it neat. You can do minor touch ups and re moisturize in between wash days with more leave in conditioner to provide moisture on other days etc. Try not to wash your hair too much, or strips your hair of natural oils which curly type 3 and type 4 hair have trouble retaining and take longer to travel down the hair strands. I don’t mind at all. Yeah you can definitely try that (we personally havent tried those specific products but I’m sure it would help) I also heard the cantu curl activator products work well too! I generally don’t think shampoo products will help prep your curls at all, it’s main function is to cleanse, if anything I have noticed conditioners do the trick in activating your curls more. The key to curls is moisture, which is what conditioners actually do. So I would recommend trying the conditioner rinse (be generous with the amount you put in your hair), but I don’t think the shampoo would do anything major.. but if others have recommended it, try it! Overall, any type of prep in the shower that you can do to help jump start the process before doing this video will help a lot! I can’t say those products will work for sure, but if it has worked for other men in the past it’s worth trying it out with the technique I showed in the video.
