He then bought a used engine and they always lie about the mileage when you buy a used engine..We bought a so called 75,000 Honda engine but we found it it was 230,000 miles and on its last legs,it was shot... 3.6 Dodge engines are reliable,I worked on many with over 200,000 miles that were original..I am a former Toyota Tech,now working on my own,multi make..Toyota's new have engine issues,research the new 3.5 V6 in Tundra and Lexus..also oil burning since 2010 they knew of their bad piston rings that destroy engines.

My parents had several Dodge Caravans and they were notorious for having transmission issues. So much so that when one of theirs went out,only 1 out of 18 junkyards/ pull-a-parts my dad called even had a transmission.So with there literally being only 1 transmission available out of 18 different junkyards doesn't clearly prove the transmissions in those vans go bad constantly, I don't know what does.Not only that,but once the shop got it installed, they had to pull it back out because one of it's parts not working and the part couldn't be replaced without pulling it.BTW,they didn't charge my dad extra for having to pull it to replace that part either,so they were not just making that up for the purpose of charging additional labor.So yeah,for anyone considering buying a used Dodge Caravan,be aware before you buy,that they may develop trans issues.I believe my parents vans were 2006 & 2012 models.

Those vans are reliable, I maintain a fleet of RAM Tradesman cargo vans aka Dodge Grand Caravan same vans but with no windows and custom cargo interiors..They have 50,000 to 360,000 miles on them,a fleet of 18 vans always in my shop for routine maintenance, nothing major.Waterpump and radiator on a couple high mileage vans and 2 needed rocker arms besides that pretty reliable for fleet vans.. Catch it early and easily repaired and not expensive(less than a engine replacement if you keep driving and ignoring it). Remember people buy used vehicles and not always but more than often lower priced used vehicles have issues that are hidden, and people with less money buy them and get problems.I know how that is thus I became a certified tech.I worked at Toyota for 18 years and yes new Toyota's have issues,easily search it throughout the years its all on the internet.Yes,I also have a Toyota and other brand cars..

So Here's the deal, 😂that Chrysler Dodge Minivan has the Pentastar 3.6 and those aside from the Cam phaser issue or whatever they were recalled and class action sued for are fairly reliable engines. Im a Toyota Sienna guy and ill admit that but the Pentastars flaws again aside from the Valve train prob, stems from Chrysler quality issues, bad TPMS namely fuel pump relay and over fit finish and little things. Blown rods short block issues doesnt seem to make sense

It can affect several other issue in the can bus…. 🤷♂️. Just a thought I had. Live your videos bruh.. keep it up. I deal with the same issues all day. By the end of my comment. Had a vehicle come in exactly like this, vehicle got towed in car won’t crack. Noticed that the computer is not recognizing that the transmission is on park, run some codes, every single fucking codes popped up, went and check the wiring, come to find out the customer got the motor replaced couple days ago and when he got it back the transmission is slipping, well when I checked the harness I noticed that the main plug on the tranny is kinked, wiggled it then boom the whole plug come loose, basically the dude that put the motor got too rough with plugging the harness for the tranny and fucked the plug on the valve body. And basically rtv the plug so he don’t get in trouble for running the plug on the valve body 😅

@simonilett9984 ай бұрын
@@rustyshackelford5892 Very true, there's most likely a few unknown parts to this story. However, it's still quite possible with junky brands to have the first engine fail, then to get a junk 2nd hand/used replacement, then all of a sudden you're on to a 3rd engine. Even with the best intentions and diligent tests and checks prior to purchasing a used engine, you can't always tell conclusively how good it is and some sellers lie about condition and miles as well as they may not allow you to do much in way of checks + tests, or it may be a case of having to pay for it up front and then it's shipped to the buyer with a no warranty/no returns policy. Either way, some brand are just known to be unreliable cheap junk and it's best to just just avoid them altogether or cut your losses as soon a something goes wrong😁
