Big fan of Swordsoul-Tenyi. Lore-wise, it looks like the two Apprentices perfected their arts. If Mula Adhara is the Monk of Tenyi (which would fit as his first Tenyi Spirit was Adhara), then it looks like our boy just might have obtained the strength to defeat Draco-Berserker.

So we have 1. Surya which is absolute extender when most tenyi spirit need only non-effect monster on field to SS, this one also include any wyrm to SS itself, and being tuner also fix choke point when mo ye get negated (good stuff), and even allow to SS any tenyi link monster also crazy make it good extender like bring shaman for more body 2. NGL lvl 8 with add any field spell can become so nightmare (ancient fairy dragon PTSD) I can smell Yu-Gi-Oh chef gonna cooking to abuse search any field spell to maximum 😅 3. new field spell is really good tandem to fetch cycle that previous unsearchable, it's also basically more extender too (very good) Overall I'm not surprised if this deck back to rogue again especially with post banlist right now

You can make the Synchro pretty generically by going through Denglong (and a few bricks). For Example: 1 card Wakaushi -Activate in scale place Benkei -Search Soulhorns, attach and summon -Synchro Denglong, search Pulao and place Wakaushi in Pend zone -Denglong send Ashuna -NS Pulao and make the Tenyi Synchro -Search any field spell (e.g. the Visas ones, Stand-up, a floodgate, Nightmare throne, Maliss, etc) and SS Chiwen or Jiaotu from Deck -Either Synchro Light Chaofeng (Chiwen) or Arms of Genex (Jiaotu), both protect from Nib -Activate the field spell that searches a starter and Pendulum summon it, the world is your oyster. I'm also looking forward to cook this with Runick Rose Dragon or Runick earthbound.

The synchro is kinda like Leo Dancer. Can’t be targeted or destroyed by card effects and can attack twice per turn. Now if it only had a raigeki effect on the attack, but Tenyi have pretty good in archetype ways of breaking boards they probably don’t need it lol I do love the field spell search tho, and its generic (tho it needs 2 wyrms so thank goodness for that restriction at least) so any other synchro deck that plays wyrms and wants to see their field spell will work nicely with this! I wish terraforming wasn’t banned in MD tho 😞

That synchro is going to end up on the ban list eventually. Any field spell just lets you go from one engine to another engine way to easily. It's not even that powerful for pure tenyi or sword soul tenyi. But some degenerate combo deck will find good use for it.

@@nziom Yeah, it will probably go the halqifibrax route. First they will hit a dozen field spells, before addressing the actual problem. But eventually they have to go for this synchro or they will limit themself on potential future field spells.

That Synchro changes the game completely, being able to search ANY field spell just gives you SO much potential. The Apodracosys Field spell is crazy and gets you a TON, the Wyrm gate goes hard with your lvl 10 synchros, and this is just a line to always make it happen. Even the field spell here not getting creative is still crazy because you do so much with that, if you can play HTs drawing 2 after thinning your deck, you may draw an extra interruption, so the field sounds can net you +3 and give some protection, and helps out board with that destruction effect, you definitely max out on it too, both tenyi cards are really good in sword soul, you play 4 field spell and 1 of each now at least, for sure, not sure if flawless is worth playing, but you can discard in SW, so if you draw it just discard fodder since it can get placed from GV. I would play it. I just realized you can generically play tenyi to search any field spell in the game and get into whatever field spell engine, without using your normal… 🫢 but still a two card combo, no 1 card combos.

@@hiddenfog180 Basically you can go Chaofeng the lv9 wyrm sycnrho with the Tenyi combos, it's really easy. You can play de Spell card Vessel to maximize the tenyi cause the are your nib protection + they are good baiters in going 2nd cause of Vishuda, baxia, draco berserker ... before comminting your normal summon ! And with the Ryu Ge cards you can make the XYZ 10 WYRM omni negate before 5 summons, I don't know if it's really good because you play a lot of bricks but overall the synergy of the two archetypes is pretty good

@@hiddenfog180 depends on your deck. Usually people wait to the 5th summon before u make a OP board so they drop it when u have enough to punish u. Thing is most decks can still continue to play even after a nib. Sword soul used to have baroone by the 5th summon to negate and continue their plays. Now with the new cards and synergy u can set up tenyi stuff to stop nib and make a decent board or power through and with what I have in my head it’s gonna be real tough.

@@hiddenfog180 sorry for writing an essay lol. I just love sword soul and the wyrm support gives it a way to make a tough board very easy and play through disruptions. Because if u negate a normal summon mo ye and imperm a long yuan if they don’t have a spell card in their hand to do sum they usually cooked. Now the new wyrm is a level 4 tuner it’s like even if u stop me from making a token tuner I can still synchro summon. Only thing that still cooks this deck is that trap that prevents synchro summoning.

Insane support. Going to be a tight 40 with Swordsoul though, unless you want to only be playing 10-12 non-engine. 🤔Not mentioned, Heavenly Dragon Cycle can now more reliably grab the Omni Negate Counter Trap. Especially if discarded for Shaman. Nib still a big ass rock of a problem though.

@@METAK188 Yeah I have it sat at 42 right now but I've had to cut Taia to 1 and Ashuna to 2 and Pot of Desires to 0. It's tricky with so many 1 ofs. 1 Protos, 1 Eternal Perfection, 1 Flawless Perfection 1 Heavenly Cycle, 1 Vessel Cycle, 1 Fists, 1 Blackout... You may want to play 3 Eternal Perfection, so you're not reliant on the Synchro 8 for it, as Heavenly Cycle can then also search Protos. 45-47 with 2 PoD might be the way. Will have to crunch the maths.

That new Tuner would be GREAT for Swordsoul Tenyi! For one thing, if your opponent negates your Swordsoul Starters to prevent you from Summoning the Token Tuner, this card serves as a nice backup! Plus, with this card, you can add in that New Synchro and splash at least one copy of Berserker of The Tenyi. Berserker may not offer much beyond being a 3,000 ATK Beatstick, but since he’s a Non-effect Link, he still synergizes with the rest of the Deck’s Combos!

Spright Tenyi is about to be a thing. It can summon the link 2 which reborns and then can be used to go into Gigantic spright. After you use all your Syncro plays Any field spell means you about to go into Secret Village for spell shutdowns. They can get into a spellcaster I am sure or the Therion Field Spell for an Omni.

If you summon a non-effect off of Surya, even if it cant be used as link material, you can tribute it off for Heavenly Dragon Circle which turns on the effect to just summon any Wyrm from deck instead of just adding it to hand

I just hope Konami makes more support enough for Tenyi to be considered pure than being an engine or mix in a Wyrm pile. Konami just risking for deck themes mixing-matching unintentionally that'll either become degenerately competitive or at the very least will remain on the top spot of competitive until hits are necessary or power-creep naturally comes through. I want Konami to not overly push the themes they make to impact the meta. If they want to push themes, I want them to push the themes by their gimmicks moreso than bringing up their power, consistency, recovery, resilience, endurance, etc. Make the gimmicks much more pronounced, broadened, & impactful for the themes to become rouge or tier 2 level of competitive. The last thing we need is for the gimmicks to end up thrown in the trash with new legacy support bringing the older themes to a new direction or become less dependent on their gimmicks. Konami be lazy with not exploring balancing tactics again, especially with word/phrase technicalities. The functionality changes to certain effects depending on the words and/or phrases used would be a breath of fresh air back into the game.

your honestly most of the time summoning berserker or the link 4 off of surya's effect (even if they do cost 3 or 4k lp) tho sometimes you might want the link 2. the link 3 should be the main priority if your playing pure as your tenyi stuff is meant to protect him plus the new synchro here (which almost entirely replaces draco berserker) gains it's effects when you have him on field then later turns after can focus on trying to get out the link 4 while taking advantage of the draws you get off of your field spell to gain negates disruptions and various forms of protection that come from the tenyi cards.

Let me propose some evil targets for the synchro: Going 1st: Finish your entire combo, play Necrovalley after you are set up. Going 2nd: Unless you can go for game anyway, just freeze the game with Mystic Mine (yes boo me, you know how powerful it is) Also if you ever need to turn of your floodgates, the lvl 8 tool box has Scrap Dragon for that.

You need non-effect monster on the field for this card's to work, BORING At least the lv4 is solid in Swordsoul but the synchro is a waste of artwork, this deck lacks interaction during your opponent's turn

i mean if you establish the field it's not exactly easy to deal with it (excluding kaiju's) even with the lack of baron de fleur. also the only non-effect's your playing are your link 1 and 3's which won't take up main deck space. the synchro is certainly not a waste of artwork especially since regardless of what deck your building with it should always be able to search any field spell in the game.

It's whole gimmick revolves around having a non-effect monster on the field, dummy, and no, only the protection effect revolves around having a non-effect monster, which is trivial to accomplish with the deck. Now even more with the new tuner that just gives you one for free. Also, the deck does have interaction through the OG field spell, the counter trap, Berserker, each of the original lvl 4's, and the swordsoul's in a swordsoul variant.

You talking like never play Tenyi before, and don't understand about thee deck. This is their gimmick, and summoning a non-effect on the field isn't difficult for Tenyi. You can discard "Heavenly Dragon Circle" to grab the Counter Trap. This deck also have Pseudo-tower as their gimmick.
